Pros:
I was very impressed with the grayscale capability of this machine.
It cuts well.
Very easy to focus and use.
Runs a standard port of GRBL so I can use many different softwares.
Cons:
The laser support bracket "dangles" the laser module and it can create wobbles or stair steps at high speeds.
The white skip is very slow
This laser is perfect for a hobbyist or a professional who wants to engrave or cut flat things at a reasonable speed. - Věda a technologie
Nice one - so good to hear a proper review :D
This is now marketed under the Violeworks banner
So i have learned a lot from your videos, I bought an A5pro + 5.5 watt, then found your channel, Can you recommend an upgrade model regardless of brand that I can cut easier and engrave on steel? And can yo explain on why on some of the wood i use(Asia amazon product) doesn't burn black well, I have tried Borax, works but On hardwoods its burns very black, I suppose because its a lot softer? thanks
Yeah,, softer woods will obliterate rather than char. So,, when the laser hits the wood,, you want the wood to stay there and be "burnt". Weaker lasers are much better at leaving the material while getting it dark.
I do not engrave on steel enough to give you any advice...
Hi! How do you prevent the bottom burning? You mentioned something with foil?
Just lay aluminum foil on the cutting plate so when it gets gross,, you can crumple it up and toss it
When you cut the star should it have been on constant power not dynamic?
Good call!! Yup.
@@brakthehun do you think that might of made of difference with the circle in the center? I'm about to get A10 pro one. Just curious what you think. 😊
@@amberj5274 That was due to movement,, not laser power. It still popped out but wasn't perfectly circular
waiting for my atomstack to arrive and watching youtube vids. Love your laugh, im totally new to laser engraving so i'll be making that same happy laugh when the postman finally brings it :)
