People forget that Stephen Hendry played to that Luca Brecel standard in the world championship. Stephen Hendry was the most attacking player of all time and hardly ever missed. I think people like Steve Davis and John Parrott have got a little bit carried away. But they did this with Shaun Murphy and Judd Trump.
Ronnie O'Sullivan has also played to that standard if not above...
But Stephen Hendry who's known for all about attacking and hardly missed I'm surprised people are saying Luca is playing snooker nobody's ever seen..
If you have he had Stephen Hendry vs Mark Selby in the final both at their best I could see the final going the same way. I would definitely favour Hendry...

When Ally McCoist said he watched loads of that SnookerWorldChampionship I was thinking really?? I was thinking how does he have that amount of spare hours. I watched loads of it but I don't have a job in football at the same time. Then when O'Sullivan brought up Si jiahui and I saw Ally's face like he was thinking erm who are you talking about I realised yeah he was just bullshitting just trying to be nice. He obviously read up on the main things like Luca Brecel won it and Selby made a 147 in the final and although Si jiahui was also a big story from this year's tournament, because he didn't win it or reach the final he didn't think to look that up.
I do notice with McCoist he always seems to overexaggerate everything over praise everything, agree with everyone I know it's better than being the opposite it's just it gets a bit ridiculous at times. How about if you didn't watch it say so and if you think something slightly different and actually have a unique opinion every now & again it's ok to say so.

@deloford fair enough there's definitely a debate about whether or not Ronnie's comments/attitude has a negative impact on the sport/ current players and should he perhaps display a certain amount of professional courtesy by holding back a little more so as not to risk undermining the reputation/ image of the sport?
However. ...... you can easily add some context that back up the premise of his view that the younger/latest generation aren't anything special and haven't achieved much in comparison to the last couple of generations! Take for instance that 21 out of the last 33 world championship titles belong to 4 players who all turned pro pre 1993!! Hendry, Ronnie, Mark Williams and Higgins!!! In the current World Rankings Ronnie is sitting at No.1, Williams at No.7 and Higgins at No.11!! 8 of the 11 max 147's ever achieved at the crucible belong to these 4! Ronnie, Higgins and Hendry are still top 3 respectively in most career 147's! 39 between them! Ronnie and Higgins still rank 1st and 2nd for most career centuries and Hendry still up there in 6th! In all time ranking events winner list 5 of top 6 turned pro pre 92 !!
The old man in the pub saying it's not like the old days is almost always right!
Hendry is still the youngest ever world champion at 21, Ronnie is still the youngest ever winner of UK championship (17) and Masters (19), Higgins won the World Championship at 22! Hendry won 7 World titles in a 10 year period during the 90's. ...5 of them consecutively! He'd won 5 consecutive Masters titles by age 24!! He was world No.1 for 8 consecutive years, 9 in total. Pretty much every record he set was achieved by age 30! Hendry's ranking title record was set in roughly 12 year period when there were far less ranking events per year! 9 per year during 90's compared with 16 annually now! Hendry and Ronnie both made 3 max 147's at the crucible and Hendry is only player ever to do it at single table set up there! Hendry set the record for most century breaks during his career!
Ronnie now has the most ever ranking titles, most triple crowns total, equal with Hendry's 7 world titles, most UK championship titles (8) and most Masters titles (8) most century breaks at 1240! He's the oldest player ever to win all 3 triple crowns!! He holds the record for fastest ever max 147 break!
