Putting Mailman at #11 is CRAZY. Deserves to be so much higher.
Mailman is number one on my rankings 4th of July being a close second
I agree!!!
Gotta have a super fan that lived it make the list... We heard these songs as they came out, and grew on us...
Then make your own list
Taste in music is subjective.
Limo Wreck should be much higher on the list !
yes i agree...limo wreck and a few other songs is what gives the album its rollercoaster feel.
Happy thirtieth anniversary, Superunknown 💘💞💖💗💝💓
1. Fell On Black Days
2. Black Hole Sun
3. 4th of July
4. Limo Wreck
5. The Day I Tried To Live
All of these songs are basically perfect though so i could go any way between these 5
Saw them on the Superunknown tour. Was great.
Superunknown is a classic 💯.
Every song is awesome 🤘🏼.
RIP Chris Cornell 😢💔🕊️🌹🙏🏼.
Few weeks ago, my mom had a mental breakdown and hours later I had depressive disorder caused by bipolar but then I putted on this album and it felt like a fireplace inside a cold cabin surrounded by blizzard. Thank you, Soundgarden. You got me through such a chaotic week.
When I flew on a plane for the first time ever a few years ago I played 4th of July when we took off because i was so afraid of flying I thought the world was gonna end, for me anyways...it didn't and that's my #1...but great order actually!
I very much appreciate your placement of "Like Suicide" on the list (it's my personal #1, but close enough). The whole song is like an active volcano; simmering and slow at first, gradually rising in intensity until it erupts into that raging guitar solo and those booming, thunderous drums! By the end, with Chris' vocals ringing out with Kim's somber guitar, it leaves me with heavy breaths and a thoroughly pierced soul.
It remains the single best send-off to any album I have ever heard.
Amazing to see you picked Like Suicide #2, it is my favorite song on the album
Mine too! I love songs that take it slow, building up tension as it goes. "Stairway To Heaven" by Led Zeppelin, "Little Things Give You Away" by Linkin Park, "Fake Plastic Trees" by Radiohead, "Summertime Rolls" by Jane's Addiction; and, of course, "Like Suicide" by Soundgarden!
Your #1 is also my personal favourite in the album (with 4th of July a close 2nd). Such a great track!!
Like Suicide is unfortunate in its title, but the song is one of SGs best not just Superunknown and of course its got nothing to do with suicide. The metaphors Chris uses are referring to the haunting ghostlike nature of unresolved trauma
That song gives me chills, it’s unreal how good it is!
@@idkmanIjustworkhere It leaves me with deep, heavy breaths every time.
Love limo wreck
Congratulations young lady. Well done, intelligent.
15. Half
14. Kickstand
13. Mailman
12.Head down
11. Spoonman
10. My wave
9. Let me drown
8. Black hole sun
7. The day i tried to live
6. Fresh tendrils
5. Superunknown
4. Fell on black days
3. 4th of july
2. Limo wreck
1. Like suicide
5. Mailman
4. Fell On Black Days
3. Limo Wreck
2. Fresh Tendrils
1. Fourth Of July 🎆🎇
She is so gorgeous, I mean stunning.... anyway I regress, Thank you for this long overdue recognition.
Not putting Limo Wreck, Superunknown, Mailman & My Wave in the Top 10!?!? Literally every song from Track 1 to 10 is amazing! Then out of the last 5 songs I would choose 4th Of July & Like Suicide
"My Wave" should be WAY higher.
I think “Half” deserves to be way higher on that list, as well as “My Wave”
That's the thing, it's not your list.
Pretty well done...Correct and 14 and 15 (either order) and I'm with you on Black Hole Sun. My favorite album for 29 years or so...
1. Fell on Black Days
2. The Day I Tried to Live
The next 11 songs can be in just about any order...I'd probably rate Spoonman lower and Fresh Tendrils higher.
Those are my number two and number one songs too. This album does have some absolute bangers of course, but those top five really always made me stop whatever it was I was doing. Rest in peace Mr Cornell. You're missed dearly.
I love she likes surprises. I had a two song Superunknown b-side disc. The other song was, I think it was called, “Jerry Garcia’s Finger”. I didn’t realize it was put on the rerelease. That’s awesome.
It was released in 1994, just only on the vinyl format of the album. CDs and cassettes did not have that track.
@@ethanbrooks264 interesting, thanks. I thought that was the period when vinyl was still MIA. But whatever. I still lucked into it anyway almost two years later.
Watching this on the 4th of July
I have see Soundgarden Live In 2014 Its A Mega Cool Band I Love It Greetings Pirmin
happy birthday superunknown!
Saw them play Superunknown at Hyde Park. So so good
She keeps throwing "psychedelic"around to describe some or these songs. I don't hear it.
Grungadelic maybe not psychedelic, that kind of hallucinatory effect interferes with important stuff like stage diving, head-banging, and slam dancing
Moments but I'd argue Superunknown is almost Doom/Sludge in parts.
Yeah!!! I’m a super soundgarden fun…….to the bones and soul ……
"The Day I Tried To Live" is my favorit Soundgarden song too!!🫶🤘🫶🤘🫶🤘🫶🤘🫶
fell on black days is my fave ,Soundgardens music is awesum
oh ok now I like lauryn much more than before^^
she likes surprises has moved up into my top 5 lately, it's kind of an underrated masterpiece. shame it isn't included here.
can't really argue with the top pick, one of the only songs that can comfortably sit at the same level as black hole sun, which is still an absolute masterpiece no matter how "mainstream" it might be. good list overall. the title track is one of my favourites too so I would've put it higher but other than that, I think the list is solid
"Head Down" and "4th of July" are my favourites off the record, so it's interesting to see how much people's likes/tastes differ!
Thats a tough job, ranking an almost perfect album. But I think you done a good job…
And I agree of your no 1!
The Day I Tried to Live as the number one song. What does the survey think...
YES! You are correct!
Black hole sun and like S are the twin jewells of the album, angelical singing by chris
all songs #1
Mailman
4th july
Limo wreck
Limo wreck, fresh tendrils and 4th of July are the best
I don't think I'd play TDITL as an introduction to Soundgarden. My go to would be Rusty Cage while driving on a highway.
1.Fell on black Days
2.4th of July
3. Day I tired to live
Head Down.
Respectable list, but I love Mailman and Limo Wreck. Those two are definitely in my top 5.
I'm going to predict her favorite is either "The Day I Tried To Live" or "4th of July." Not sure why, maybe just because those are my favorites lol
4th of July, Mailman, and Limo Wreck are the best songs on the album. Their placements on this list are all way too low.
Definitely not an easy task and no way you're going to please everyone on. My top 3 on the album are 4th of July, Head Down, & Fresh Tendrils. Love the video either way, and Soundgarden IS THE band from that era for me (closely followed by AIC). RIP Chris...don't think I'll ever get over that...😔🙏🤘
Not sure you can rank songs on album so awesome as this. So many big hits so many deep cuts & so many weird but brilliant moments. Just play it don't skip any tracks & go for the ride of your life
Every song is great, but my favourite song is Spoonman.
I've always loved to sing kickstand, I remember it's about 2 minute's,,, stand me up,stand me up stand me up... Try listening to it around 3 times 3times in a row. Maybe sing with it, for me.thanks I really like you.
1. Superunknown
I would put Like Suicide as #1 and 4th of July as #2 or #3! Happy 30th anniversary to Superunknown!!! RIP Chris!
I would definitely put Mailman and My Wave higher
Fresh Tendrils is #1, by far
I was ready to type a long, whiny comment about how wrong your list, but then I realized just how hard your task actually was. Excluding Half and Kickstand, the rest of the 13 tracks really are just THAT good, that any of the 13 could have been your number 1 and I would have understood. I don't think I could have come up with a better list. If any of you reading this like rock music, and have not listened to Superunknown as it was meant to be listened to (in its entirety as an album), then please do yourself a favor and get on that.
Take spoonman off the record and it’s perfect.
Alice in chains 1st cd that rocks hard
Wow, I'm really surprised, although my #1 is Like Suicide
Blackhole sums am froggy favrites grunge songs ebber!!! and Imma lubbs Nirvanas and stp and smash pumpkins and alice chains and froggy favorite Soundgardens albums am down on da ups sides YAY!!!
I don’t think I could disagree with this ranking more! How can you put limo wreck and fresh tendrils so low 😢
Haven't watched the video yet, but as a superfan myself I'd rank Spoonman and Black hole sun definitely the last 😊 And the first... in youth days it would be My Wave for sure BC it is so rock-n-roll-ish... But now, approaching 40... I pick Superunknow. So atmospheric and powerful.
For me i'd say:
1. Like Suicide
2. My Wave
3. The Day I Tried To Live
4. Black Hole Sun
5. Head Down
6. 4th Of July
7. Fresh Tendrils
8. Fell On Black Days
9. Spoonman
10. Let Me Drown
11. Limo Wreck
12. Mailman
13. Superunknown
14. Kickstand
15. Half
Superunknown should be higher.
Mailman @ 1 for me
Badmotorfinger was their ultimate album. Any “super fan” knows this.
100%
chris not only had unique voice, his lyrics are simply mindblowing, i dont think any other grunge band comes close in that department
Beyond the wheel is the best song.
But but but... that's from Ultramega OK!
Maybe my list would look totally different... But sure as hell it would also have The day I tried to live at #1. No other way to list it 😂
My ranking:
Kickstand
Half
The Day I Tried to Live
Fresh Tendrils
My Wave
Mailman
Limo Wreck
Superunknown
Like Suicide
Black Hole Sun
Head Down
Spoonman
Fell on Black Days
Let Me Drown
4th of July
Superunknown lol. Louder than love is better...
Rank Green Day! American Idiot would be a good album, but any except mother of all are cool.
This is BS, all are #1
Putting Spoonman above 4th of July is utter blasphemy
