Garden Catastrophe gets a Complete Restoration (33 hours of work)!!!

- This transformation is really quite remarkable. Watch this yard go from a complete run down mess back to a normal looking yard. All I needed to do was spend around 33 hours pruning, digging, shovelling, cutting, mowing, pressure washing and driving to the landfill 3 times!!! I should have painted the house while I was there. When this job came through, I went around to the customer's place to do a quote, but the estimate was a lot more than the customer expected, mainly due to the size of the backyard. The customer said he would have a talk to his wife about the cleanup and let me know the verdict. After a couple of days, I decided to offer to do the whole property for the budget the customers had set for themselves, and they were delighted with the offer. I then threw in the back for free.

Q: Where are you located?
A: I am from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia 🦘.
Q: Do you worry about snakes?
A: I have never even seen a snake in over 5 years on the job.
Q: Which equipment do you use?
A: Mostly STIHL power equipment (battery and petrol) and commercial Honda self-propelled mowers.
Q: How much do the jobs cost?
A: Sorry, I prefer not to talk about costs.
Q: Why don't you use tarps instead of bins?
A: Tarps are too difficult to move through small spaces and lift into the trailer. The same for wheelbarrows, they are only good for unloading the trailer!
Q: Why are the hot water cylinders outside?
A: I would say it's because Australia had a temperate to tropical climate, and therefore it doesn't matter that much if they are outdoors. To me, though, it seems a bit inefficient to have them outside in Tasmania with a temperate climate (coldish for 3 - 4 months per year). But that is industry standard down here 🤷♂️
Q: Why don't you have help?
A: I've had many problems with employees in the past, so now I work alone.
Q: Why don't you have a ride-on mower?
A: Well, there are a few reasons.
1. I don't have the right trailer for a ride on, considering I always take away the green waste.
2. I don't have anywhere to store it, as my shed is too small.
3. A lot of the properties we do have fences and gates, so you can't actually get a ride-on on to the properties.
4. I don't do enough big jobs to justify spending 15k AUD on a stander, but it would be nice to have one!
5. I will get one as soon as my transport and storage problems are solved.
Q: What types of ladders do you use?
A: The large one is a Gorilla Adjustable Platform 150kg and the small one is a Gorilla Mighty 19. They are both adjustable.
Q: Who/what is Jim's Mowing?
A: Jim's Mowing is a franchise business. The Jim's Group is the biggest home services franchise in Australia.
Q: Why do you have 2 channels that seem to be the same?

Hi George I saw the 3rd part a while back but this is the first time I got to see all the parts from start to finish and it blew me away! My hands felt blistered after watching you shovel all that grass from the pavement. Who would have ever thought so much beauty was hidden underneath all the grass!

Well I'll say one thing for the homeowner...he didn't have dandelions. George, have you ever worn a pedometer? You've had to have put about 15 miles on your boots just lugging stuff to the truck for disposal! I'm seriously in awe of your work.

That was amazing 👏 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏I'm just finishing watching the end of the last day in the backyard. I live in Adelaide and I have a colossal job to do where I live. I used to be able to power through jobs when I was younger.
My advice to anyone watching these videos but you don't have as much stamina, is this, and my friend taught me this,
do 1 hour and have a cup of tea, then do another hour...and knock off. At the end of the week you've done 14 hours and given yourself a 2 hour workout.

I care for my 90 and 92 yr old aunts...and I enjoy watching then started showing my 90yr old aunt and she cant get enough!! For seniors that wont budge from in front of the TV its a great joy to watch...especially the V2 channel you offer ! My aunt got a kick out of how fast you work! (...then i have to explain about the FF feature it is shown in...) She really pays good attention to all the details. We just love watching. This yard was the worst I have ever seen. This was truly thirty three hours of hard work indeed. You did an OUTSTANDING job to get to the finish. BLESS you. I did notice this was a well kept neighborhood. You would think the neighbors would see this person needs some help with the yard. Several neighbors could have helped and done the yard. Granted they could not have done what you did but they probably had a hand cutter and a lawn mower to have offered their help, I guess all the neighbors were to busy to even notice. But you came to the rescue and did the Greatest job ever. Again Bless you.

George, watching you work here is like watching a lumberjack methodically bring down a Giant Redwood tree using effectively only a witling knife, it's time consuming and requires great patience and diligence but you see it through using just handtools and a mower, plus a ton of your energy. Can't imagine how many calories you burned up on this job! Kudos to you!

I think the one thing that puts George in a different category than most others is the little bit extra like repairing fence boards or a gate. Others just prop it up, George fixes it. Very nice.

Good day George Of Eden. Another video on my favourites list. Trim all bushes and trees and tidy everywhere in between. Even tidied up the neighbours' side. Trimmed all edges to the T. Power washed the driveway and the side of the house. Brush off webs, clear the pathways and spade the grass off the pavings. Then the mowing and take all the branches and grass to the trailer. Plus u take all the unwanted items in the yards. I also don't like when plants and branches touch the house. In some cases clean the garage roof and roof gutters. Oops, I'm getting a bit too long now. But one has to take notice because this is how I'd love my garden to be done and honestly pay the price asked with good heart. Gosh George, I don't know who else does it yr way. May blessings pour yr way.
