    Piedmont has some amazing deals, some with mountain views, and is centrally located for easy travel to most European destinations, as well as to Milan and Lake Como. You need to be able to deal with the cold, though, and make sure the place has a proper heating system.

      Yep, I agree. Those are just a few of the reasons I chose Piedmont. I also love the wine, food, landscape and history from this region.

    This is one of the nicest homes you have shown. No real view or garage. But, seems to be nice and you can park your motorcycle out of the weather. And a little garden area is a plus. I like it at a lower price. Thanks for sharing!

      Thanks for your feedback. I think there was definitely room to negotiate on price. If I was interested I would offer 30,000 and hold firm. But I'm continuing my search.

    Mike, welcome back & Happy Independence Day! So, I don’t like the roof sith at all … looks expensive to fix and no stunning views. However, the pied de terre aka balcony I loved and the garden, as well as the barrel vaulted ceilings were amazing esp if you remove all the plaster to expose the brick / stone work…you’re right-the rooms are small, however remove some non load bearing walls and then you’re cooking w gas. So nah. Not worth 48 euros. Also town looked empty ish. Could be the time of day (siesta) or season. Can’t wait til next week’s reveal! Ciao tutti 🇺🇸

    Looking at your crooked tree reminds me of the crooked trees in the northeast that were Native American way markers. There of course are fewer and fewer of them still standing but might your tree be a way marker? Great video. I am enjoying your search. Thanks for taking us along.

      That's really interesting. I don't think I've ever heard of the idea of way markers but it makes perfect sense. It's hard to forget a unique tree. And the crooked tree here is definitely a unique tree, but it's kind of hidden in the woods. Might be hard for people to find. Thank you for sharing and thank you for your kind words.

I didn't make it there on my trip, but I rode within a few kilometers and that area is beautiful! But it's a little too far south for me to live. I want to be closer to Central Europe.

    Pleasssssse stop panning toward yourself. We don't need to constantly look at you, we need to see the property as you go from room to room. It allows the viewers to see the true flow of the floorplan. Also, Whipping the camera around to look at you can make people dizzy from the spinning.

    Have you noticed weather differences from the Piedmont to Puglia? I have family who are builders in the Piedmont, which would help for me if we buy in Italy, but we thought the south would be warmer like Florida.

    • @aroundtheworldwithmike
      @aroundtheworldwithmike  Před měsícem +1

      Absolutely! Italy is 800 miles from north to south. There's a huge difference between the weather and climate in Piedmont and Puglia. The regions in the south of Italy like Puglia, Basilicata and Calabria are really hot, but not like Florida. It's dry in the south of Italy unlike the extremely high humidity in Florida. The hot and dry climate in the south of Italy is why they don't have so many cheeses and meats but rather olive oil. Olive trees can live in a hot dry climate, but you can't grow feed for livestock as effectively in a hot dry climate as you can in a milder climate like in the north or Italy.

    Hi there 👋 I've been watching your videos just lately started seeing them anyway I'm from Olympia WA And I see you're in Colorado up in the mountains.. since you already live up in the mountains. Wouldn't you want to have a place in Italy near the Sea ? Like the Puglia region? Molise I don't know. It just seems like you would want a different experience than what you have already been living ...It seems to me that Piedmont would be like living in Colorado pretty much.😅 Why not beautiful warmer areas near the ocean😃✌️

    • @aroundtheworldwithmike
      @aroundtheworldwithmike  Před měsícem +1

      Thank you for watching. As you watch more of my videos you will see that I say many many times that I don't want to live in the Mountains of Italy because I live in the mountains of Colorado already. I also say many many times that I don't like the heat of southern Italy (Puglia). And Molise doesn't have good transportation connections and is much further from the rest of Central Europe. Likewise I've explained that I'm not a beach person. Look again at the Piemonte (Piedmont) region. It is not all mountains. In fact much of it is flat and agricultural. Nestled in this flat region is a stunning hill region very similar to parts of Tuscany. And trust me. After riding over 4,000 miles through 17 of the 20 Italian regions, there is no place in Italy even remotely similar to Colorado. It's a completely different wonderland to be experienced and I can't wait to do just that.
