    Mike, I highly urge you to contact Romina with Exclusive Property in Abruzzo. They have a CZcams channel. I saw a property a few days back that I would immediately buy had I the resources. It is a three bedroom-one with a terrace, two bath with a big kitchen with aqua tiles, separate large living room, all but one room has a balcony. There is access to a large cellar with room for your bike. This is €37k. An incredible house for the price. I can give you a link to the video.

      Wow! That sounds incredible. But I've decided against Abruzzo. I'm focusing on the Piedmont region. I would still love to check out the link if it's still available.

      You have to go where your heart tells you. The link is there below my first comment. I doubt it is still available as it was an incredible house for the price...imho! I'll still follow your journey and learn as much as I can from you and your adventures.

    nice place and a good option. Just missing a garage or somewhere for your motorcycle. Looking forward to more! Piedmont is going to be awesome!

      Yep, there's gotta be a garage. Tune in this Friday for the 3rd and final Piedmont property. I think you'll be as excited as I am.

    That has a lot of possibilities. It's your best one yet. $45,000 is a bargain. One level, no stairs... That's what I'm going to buy. I'm too old for stairs. The downside is one bed/one bath , but not bad.

    • @aroundtheworldwithmike
      @aroundtheworldwithmike  Před měsícem +1

      Yeah I liked the simplicity of this place. But I need a place to park my cycle and maybe a car some day. Finding a place with no stairs is definitely a challenge in Italy, but it can be done. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms would indeed be nice. The search continues...

      It's Mike. Rob was my buddy from Holland that met me in Naples. Thanks for your comment. I agree, the Dolomites are stunning. And I think Piedmont is the place for me. Tune in this Friday for another great property.

    The type of properties i prefer. One or 2 bedrooms and reasonably sized, and no stairs to climb.

      @aroundtheworldwithmike  Před měsícem

      In hill towns it's pretty hard to find something without stairs. But they are out there, especially smaller places.

    As you said, the price is low. It doesn't seem like a terrible deal, although not the kind of property that makes you go, "wow!". The thing about Italian properties, is that it's so easy to get caught up in incrementalism. You get a ton more for your money as you move up in price. At the lower price levels such as this, there's the danger that you'd spend more money after renovations than if you just purchased something move-in ready that you love as-is.

      @aroundtheworldwithmike  Před měsícem +1

      It's funny you say that, because I'm considering a place that is exactly like you said. It's a little bit more, but you get WAY more. The property I'm referring to will be on this Friday's video. Tune in.

    Mike…Yeeeeesssss, I knew it was Austria before you said it. By far, when traveling to Europe, I love Austria, the Alps, and Germany. You’re definitely in the sweet spot. Not being a fan of summer, heat, bugs etc, north Italy is my preference of all the regions visited while in Italy. I found the closer you get to the Austria and the German borders, from Italy, the landscape becomes much more awe inspiring. Ahhhhh yes…that Austria view is indeed incredible 😊.

      I love your enthusiasm. And I agree. The Alps are astounding. And that's one of the reasons I love the Asti area of Piedmont. It's not in the mountains, but very close and still in rolling hills. Flat land bores me. :-)

    Good choice - possibility of carving out a 2nd bedroom at back of living room. Could also probably get this unit for under 40 euros, then have some extra to purchase cantina/garage for your bike.

    I certainly like this one the best so far. I would prefer to buy a property with minimal or no improvements required. Looking forward to seeing more videos.

    Mike, you may be a great DIY guy, but this place has no feng shui, no bones. I need lots of light and can see the light at the end of a tunnel of major renovation. Not for me.

    How did you locate a rental in little towns like that in Austria? Are those areas expensive to live in?

    • @aroundtheworldwithmike
      @aroundtheworldwithmike  Před měsícem +1

      There are a lot of rentals on all of the websites. They are run like small hotels. Some times they are called a pension, have very reasonable prices and usually include breakfast.
