I think you may have quite underestimated the renovation costs in the first property.
In the second, how would it work out for a BnB when you have to go thru one bedroom to get to another.

So good to see what can be done to a palazzo in a very tasteful manner, and what one looks like originally. This has been a pleasure to watch.
It's amazing what people can do with these palazzos. However, the place is just too large for my needs unless it's turned into a B&B. I'm at the age that I just want a place to call home. Affordability is one of the reasons to give up living in Houston. Besides, my area of town is becoming dangerous and very costly. And, I'm looking for a new hobby, which means I'm looking for a place to call home that I can work on myself (some contracting out repairs and upgrades). Before I make any move, I have to get my residence visa for Italy back. I understand there is a new visa type that would allow retirees the ability to live in Italy? Thanks for the video, they are very well done.

Amazing the second palazzo is great value, love the layout and think the area with the garage space would make and amazing separate suite. Has a real james bond vibe with that staircase, very cool.

Ho seguito il canale di Marco fin dall'inizio. Videografia meravigliosa e miglioramento ogni volta che pubblichi un video. Anche se molto bello, un Palazzo non fa proprio per me. Preferisco la campagna intorno a Cisternino, dove soggiorno ogni anno due o tre mesi.
The palazzo for sale... I wish i could buy it! It's glorious! And so is the furniture. Plus, that peach dessert was a melty little work of art.
The second palazzo is absolutely awesome. Perfect with original architectural elements still left in place and the slow yet low intrusive improvements over the decades. Excellent.

Great video! Question about the prices/costs of the first building. It said 500k+ 100K repairs etc. But the lady said there were no ceilings and no pipework. To do all that for ten different apartments how can that be only 100k?
It cost far more. The furniture alone would have been over 100,000!
It wasn't 100k. The lady said "about half that" when referring to the €1m+ price tag. That could mean well over €600k depending on what a person means by that, but she does indicate that this property was a similar price range to the 590k the other property is advertised at. Then Marco adds to get it up and running that "it's like what another 20% on top of the purchase price?" Again, a lot of scope for interpretation. "Up and running" might not mean to the standard we see, "like 20%" could be 30% and the response was not a confident yes, it was a "uh, yyeahh" with a chuckle.
Generously, I think we can interpret this as 30% of 600k, so €200k to get "up and running" as in, structurally safe, clean and good enough to rent a room out, but not what we see here.

I do love Puglia, I spent a holiday with my extended family there several years ago in one of those old 'Masseria' houses that were the country retreat houses of wealthy families years ago. I recognize a lot of the floors, masonry & general feeling of these properties, and they are very interesting, but I do not find them comfortable - not welcoming from that perspective. That's me, I prefer 'cozy', so I would not buy one of these houses for myself, just enjoy the differences as an interesting learning experience. Thank you for your video, a fascinating topic indeed !

You mentioned Puglia offers up to 50% financial assistance to remodel some of these historic buildings. Where can I go to get more information and do you know if this would be a loan or some type of grant money?
The real issue with this Palazzo would be the City Historical designation. Based on other videos it appears that the design committees are horrific - HOA x 1000........ power mad. This would be a FANTASTIC place if you could modify it - but the City may not allow that. Truly the huge problem with the Palazzo.............

It's a shame that they distroy every palace they see. Can't there be one where you let the frescos be on the walls and ceilings? Is it really necessary to paint over everything?
The first "palazzo" was completely distroyed. This second one had a couple of room still beautiful, the rest painted in awful colors. New thin walls, and such...
And then they managed to distroy the rest of the house, and left it... Thinking that someone will buy it? Oh no.
It's not too big, but it is a mess!
