- 9 Month Baby Update - Luke Ballinger. Luke is getting so big and this has been a very exciting month for him. He's gearing up to crawl, rolling all over the place and eating new things with his new little teeth. Luke has a chromosomal micro-deletion and we explain some of things we are doing through his therapy sessions.

I’m so impressed with your dedication to early intervention!! It makes all the difference. I can tell you, all the therapy in the world means nothing if the parents aren’t supporting and working on it at home too.
Jess, you should do updates like this on each kid. We’d love to hear how they are each growing and changing.

@@necem3703 His will get blonder when he's a bit older. And then around the age of 24-25 they will turn darker again. It's how it usually goes.

Jessica, you are an incredible mom. Your calmness and energy (although I’m sure there’s a ball of stress inside at times) encourages his growth because you’ve created a safe environment. I’m so proud of Luke’s progress. He’s doing well because he’s strong and he has an awesome team (parents, siblings, cousins, aunts, grandparents, etc) supporting his progress. He’s a lucky kiddo 🥰

Him having a sound that he repeatedly uses to signal an action in replace of a word(s) is also early talking and is complex thinking so good on him for that.
Also if you google asl for all done there is an easier way to sign that won't confuse him with more and his hands can stay apart the way he keeps them now.

Luke is doing great! I have learned from my girl that all babies learn and do things at their own pace. My girl rolled early, and it took her several months to start rolling consistently.
Luke is honestly one of the cutest babies I have ever seen! He is such a happy baby - what a gem!
I LOVE watching (and learning) how you are teaching him how to get into a sitting position. I'm a violin teacher and virtually none of our muscles are interested in doing what they have to do to play that instrument. I feel like a lot of what I do is teach my students how to "negotiate" with their muscles with patience and good will. Luke has got the perfect personality to learn... well, just about anything, from the look of it!

Have u tried the sign for “milk”? He was doing it when u were signing “more”. Could have been a coincidence.
I think he was just wiggling but yes i noticed that he was doing that sign as well!! I’m not sure how useful that would be right now because im not sure how much they are breastfeeding/ pumping anymore.
Teaching them sign language is intriguing to me,the idea that they can express themselves without language skills yet is something I wish I thought of when my boys were little! It would’ve saved so much frustration trying to figure things out,and early manner presentation!! I remember seeing Duncan doing it,and was curious!!

We used baby sign language with our two daughters and it also helps so much with frustration when they don’t have the words.

When you all 1st got news that there may be some in utero differences w/Luke, I know so many questions & concerns entered your hearts/minds. But I encouraged you to lean on your FAITH vs letting fear control the situation. Man may predict a grim outcome however w/GOD there is hope & ALL things are possible. I myself am a person of "special needs" born w/Primordial Dwarfism (a very rare type) and Dr's predicted I would never walk, talk, have mental delay, etc. They were wrong on every level. Thankfully my Mom had a hope bigger than doubts thrown at her. All Glory to be to her faithfulness to me & belief in a Higher Power! The Lord assigned you to be Luke's parents b/c He knew you had the ability to teach & guide this precious child. I Love You Ballinger Family. Blessings...

I love how you teach your kids sign language! I think everyone should know it (would be good if it was taught in schools) but even just the basics of it! Im 24 and didn't learn any basics till I was 21 and I'm so glad I even know a little!

He’s so good at getting up onto his knees!! It’s amazing to see him develop and as someone with a disability, your parenting of him makes my heart burst with joy because you celebrate him and how he does things without forcing him to try it ‘correctly’ ❤️
