I noticed Luke is bringing his cookies to his mouth! I know bringing food to his mouth was one of his goals, way to go Luke! I love that you guys are being so proactive with his therapies.
My little brother is special needs. He has partial agenesis of the corpus callosum, and is extremely delayed in all aspects of life. He is 19 now but music has been a HUGE part of his life since he was born. His speech is pretty minimal and he struggles physically as well, but he has always been able to clap perfectly on beat and sing along to every song he hears on the radio. It’s amazing to watch. My parents have always had him involved music classes and it has been a major part of his therapy. I’m happy to see you doing this with Luke as well. It’s amazing what music can do! I have a feeling Jacob will LOVE the baking course! Baking, rather than simply cooking, is especially very methodical, precise, and instructional, all of which are very similar to Legos, and we all know how much he looooves his Legos!! Haha

I have low muscle tone as well and started therapy at a young age. It has made it so that I can do most things that others can with a few exceptions.
Yep for younger kids I would recommend Kiki or Arrietty or else: Marnie was there ! I think Bailey would probably enjoy princess Mononoke, Jacob also, but I'm afraid the youngest might not be into it too much !
There is also some gore in princess mononoke. I would just watch it first before having the kids watch it.
I first watched it at 20 and it was a little too much for me at times (And this come from someone who doesn't flinch at live action gore, reads really violent books and watches violent anime without batting an eyelid). It's a great way to lead into a conversation about the best way to advance as a nation whilst respecting the practices of the past but it would upset any younger kids for sure.
Ponyo is really great for the younger ones too! Don’t know if they have watched that one already :))

I really recommend Kiki's Delivery Service!! I'm Bailey's age and I really enjoy it and I think all of the kids would really like it! It's very funny and it has such a cute style!

You guys are doing such a great job with Luke!! I am a special education teacher who teachers students with moderate to severe autism in a school for students ages 3-21 with autism and multiple disabilities. What I have seen over the years the sooner a child started therapy the less support they need as they get older. Also, kids are developing the fundamental skills at a young age and all skills build upon these fundamental skills. A child with a delay needs more help to develop these fundamental skills and the earlier they learn these skills the easier it becomes to learn more advanced skills. You guys are doing a great job with Luke and while you may not see it right now it is going to be so beneficial to him in the future!!
Could you do a podcast about how you integrate equality and social justice matters into the kids education? Or just as you address them as a family. I think it’d be really interesting and informative to hear about with you having kids at different ages and it being such an important year with the BLM movement really taking off and there being a lot of microscopic lenses on society! 💓
I live away from my family at uni and when i miss them i love watching your vlogs bc its such a loving and safe environment:) makes me miss them a little less

Have you watched howl's moving castle or ponyo yet? I love those two studio ghibli movies.Howl's moving castle is a bit more scary and for older kids, but ponyo is adorable and also great for small kids.
Luke has been developing in leaps and bounds. Such a big grownup boy now. I’ve been here since Parker’s birth and it’s been a blessing to watch your amazing children grow.

I second this! Im 24 and I watched it with my husband the other week. We both cried at the end because it was a LOT. I think that it might get to Parker especially. So yeah, maybe avoid that one until they're all over 13 :')

Thank you for discussing the complexities of parenting and sleep deprivation. I am an autism mom and autism-related sleep difficulties are something few people know about. Parenting is hard when you aren't sleeping.

I had a physical therapist as a baby up through elementary school. It's so fun to see luke's progress. Also, you're such a good mom. I think what you said about being aware of sleep and mental health and safety of parenting is so important. I'm not an expert and I don't have children. I'm in my senior year studying human development but am no expert. I just really appreciate what you said. Love your channel. OMG I'm so happy that you and the kids are watching Studio Ghibli films! They are so enchanting and fantastical and the stories are soo goooood!! I'm trying to watch all of the films from Studio Ghibli and I'm always in awe after watching each. The animation is top notch. Some compare them to Disney animation, but I would say YES but more!! Love u guyss

The studio ghibli movies were magical to me as a kid and now even though I'm 23 I still find them magical. They don't feel as long as they used to but the magical touch is still there and I do love them.
