    This video shows another idea on how to do the fourth french seam on a shift boot by only using the sewing machine.
    I am using automotive leather for this demonstration. In video two I showed an artisan way of approaching this fourth seam. As a personal opinion, I would prefer the by sewing machine option. It would be faster if we follow the indicated tricks.
    As we can see in the video the most important trick is the lining up of the two row of stitches that will appear on top. The double sided tape helps a lot to keep the leather pieces in place.
    Another tip is the use of a noticeable color thread on reverse side of leather that would be useful as a guide while final sewing process.
    The small toe of small presser foot runs close to outstanding red thread.
    I hope you find this video inspirational!

      Shoemakers and leather artisans here in Mexico use this liquid (lavador)a lot to remove glue residues and some marks on leather material without causing any damage to its surface. The components do not appear on the label. I have been doing some research to find out the component and it seems it is 'benzine' same liquid watchmakers use to clean wristwatches. It also seems to be the called 'petroleum spirits'.

      The standard motor on Pfaff 1245 runs at full speed all the time, and has a mechanical clutch that you control with the foot controller. I changed my motor to a digitally controlled “stepper motor”. It is much smaller, plus the motor only runs when you press the control foot. (This also makes it very quiet!). It is very versatile - allowing you to increment a single stitch at a time, or run 100s of stitches per minute (programmable limits) all from the foot controller. It will allow you to lift the needle and stop with the needle full-up. (Heel back on the controller). I think it is the best improvement I’ve made to my machine. Plus I don’t need to have fantastic skills with the foot controller to make control stitching speed very precisely.

    • @Cechaflo
      @Cechaflo  Před 2 lety +1

    • @Cechaflo
      @Cechaflo  Před 3 lety +2

      La consew 225 es para trabajo pesado. No afecta en nada la reversa. De todos modos se ocupa rematar el comienzo de la costura. El truco es avanzar dos puntadas hácia adelante moviendo a mano el volante del cabezal y luego levantar los piés de presion y retroceder el material hasta el borde y dar inicio comenzando a coser hácia adelante otra vez hasta terminar lo deseado.
