This video shows one way to upholster a traditional car sunvisor.
As we can see the process starts by making a mold in cardboard then cutting the material considering its stretchy side that helps to slide the cover onto the sunvisor piece.
The next step is to sew the cover all around the edges with short stitches, thin needle (90=16) and thin thread 92 (number 8). The seams are next cut close to the stitches to avoid a bulky edge.
After putting the cover on it comes the last step that is to close the open edges below. This time a basic hand sewing is useful to close the lips. I did the stitches longer to have a better view of the procedure. To get a tighter row of stitches they could be done shorter.
I hope you find this information useful!

I watched this once, and then made a perfect sun visor, consulting the video once or twice just to check. I always wondered how the stitching was hidden all the way around... and now I know. Many thanks, Cechaflo!
Same sunvisor wrapped in brown color and using basting stitches to close the lips.

I respect your craftsmanship. You're a true master.
Your instructions are wonderful, thank you for sharing your precious knowledge, a big hug from Brazil.
Absolutely GORGEOUS. Thank you for showing your excellent craft. I'm a beginner, so I never would have thought to sew the zigzag stitch using the prestitched anchor line!
Thanks for kind comment! This other video shows the same sunvisor but with a different way of doing the closing sewing of lower edges.

Wow I’m so impressed!!!!! Great job on that!!! It looks so snug and perfect
Beautiful work, real craftsmanship!
Incredible!!!!! You have my respect with this last video. You have alot of patience, and explain every detail. You are a true master. "Lo que hace en maestro, es la practica."
I always wondered how they did the seems at the end of the cover folded in like that. Sweet ! Once again you taught me something I did not know . Thank you again wise - Interior Master Yoda - Just a great vid to . Can't wait to see your next one . I love watching you teach with out saying a word and I understand everything you teach clear as day with no problems at all . JUST -💯% - Great TEACHER !
Dear Chris, I really appreciate your kind comment!
Let's not forget the material (leather, vinyl, cloth, etc.) should be placed along its stretchy side to ease the process of putting on the cover.
To close/sew the open edges I used a hand sewn blind stitch (one needle). I used steering-wheel basting stitches for the small recess.
In next related sunvisor video I will show how to close the longer open edges using the basting stitches.
Just a few days ago I did my first sun visor. I was super excited to see this so I could compare how I did mine. Needless to say I'll be redoing mine now.
Tomorrow, I will be posting a new related sunvisor video that shows more interesting tips.
Thanksfor watching!
Hi Cesar. I asked you for this video just last week and you are very fast to make it. I am currently working on this project but I wanted high quality results that only you teach. Others on CZcams do not have or show the high quality work that you do. Your work is high standard for expensive luxury automobiles. The closing stitch you showed was what I was looking how to do. You are the best teacher. I watch your videos and when you make new pay-only videos for your site I will buy them. Thank you /John
Dear John,
I really appreciate your kind comment!
Keep an eye out for next related sunvisor video where I will show two more interesting tips to close the open edges...for sure, interesting tips!

great master, I love your job and I don't know how can I ask you a thing,, have you ever got a project for hailstorm. last month here in Italy I've got 2 times hailstorm. thanks.
Dear friend, Could you please give more details about the project? Thanks.
Ciao!
Gud job
Super job 100000/10
Thanks for appreciating this art craft!
Молодец 🖒🖒🖒
Thanks for appreciating his art craft!
I needed video like that. Thank u !
I am glad the video is useful ! Keep an eye out for next related video that shows an easier way to close/sew the open edges for a sunvisor.

Similar sunvisor video using a 'basting stitch' to close the open edges:czcams.com/video/NMYlCg1HC48/video.html
Factory Sonic welded plastic sunviser you can break plastic down middle. Wrap with martial hot glue 2 peices then clamp with cardboard and clamps. Either way they suck.
Thanks for the commentary!
good
Thanks for watching!
Maestro, acepta trabajos?
Si he recibido algunos trabajos de USA
Whare are u located ? Got sum work for you
I am located in Mexico.
How much cost your cissors
Those scissors cost approx. 10 USD. I bought them from a local supplier.
Belli, se ti spedisco i miei me li fai?
Why it is u did not run a stitch straight down on the top and sew in between the threads
