- Fran and C.C. go for sushi, Fran tries wasabi for the first time and it has an interesting effect on her voice!
From Season 3 Episode 18 ‘Val's Boyfriend’. Over sushi, C.C. begs Fran to help reunite her with Mr. Sheffield. Fran does so by getting her old music teacher- who happens to look exactly like Marvin (and is played by him) - to pretend to be Hamlisch and to convince Maxwell to take C.C. back.

The way C.C. couldn't almost couldn't hold her laugh after the "Oreo cookie magnet" story, must have took a lot of takes to complete...
there was a few monents when she was seemingly on the verge of laughter.
Yeeees
You can clearly see it's actually more than one take, CC did laugh, look at her arms
@@trevorchambers well yes, she laughed at the joke but I think her reaction was real apart from her acting!
Watch the guy in the background, between them....
Her little fist clench after CC moved the water was so good
also, her timing, picking up the glass. That's great comedy.
Lmao there was so much pain and suffering in that one moment lol
So wonderful, comedy is so good when you watch it over and over
you know that mustard really clears up the nasal passage lol
That's it. I'm going to pick up some wasabi.
Its actually true lol.
I won-🎼-da-how-loong🎵-it's-gonNA-LAEAEAEAEST📢🎶🎶🎶☠
Wasabi can clear up the nasal passages, it's only temporary, same with horseradish also..
Boiled crawfish with extra seasoning too
"The Nanny" was essentially Lucille Ball for the 90's and it played brilliantly. Also, we need more 'Sultry voice' Fran for .... research.
Research done alone, at 2 am when the show still comes on nickelodeon, with a box of tissues and lotion next to you lol
Its sound of music meets flushing lol 😆
I never thought of that before. You’re right. She was a Lucille ball of the 90’s.
yes "research"
Gross. Unnecessary commentary. No one wants to know about that.
My most favorite part of The Nanny is when Mr. Shefilrd said that age of Fran Fine wasn't found by FBI. :D
My favourite part is “ How Now Brown Cow ?”
@Ash. Ⓥ She few times almost revealated her true age. If I am counting correctly, she should be 35-36 in the last season.
Fran Drescher is born September 30th, 1957. So she becomes 63 this year. She is still looks amazing!
@@xKasumiChan That would mean she really was 29 in the pilot😄
@@durgalin341 always kill me 😂😂😂
What a very epic scene given that Fran’s voice was such a signature part of the show! 😂 To hear it clear and normal for just a few seconds. 😂
I remember cracking up SO MUCH when I watched this scene for the first time. I have never fully appreciated Fran's acting chops and comedic timing until now!
She had a modern I love Lucy vibe
0:50 C.C. is so hard trying not to laugh with Fran's anecdote... And given the change of her position, I think she failed and had to begin again that part
That was the actor about to lose it, not the character.
Beautiful moment.
Yes u can see it was edited lol
It's little moments like this littered through the series that shows that the cast had fun making this show. It seems to have been a labour of love for all involved.
this competes so hard with moment when C.C screamed after Niles made her "cluck like a chicken" for the most hysterical funny moment that makes you die laughing.. XD
You forgot when she was “shaving” Mr. Sheffield and Niles cracked at her and the audience went wild. 😂
@@NyxSpirit no I didn't.. there are many but these two are especially irresistible.. maybe when Fran came home drunk ended in Maxwell's bed and C.C. brought him breakfast.. but that again is cc yelling so it doesn't count since that is Niles cc running gag..
I LOOOVE her suit and it was defo one of my favourite parts ever when she was piling the wasabi like it was mustard, and the audience knew what was coming !
Although I can’t imagine piling that much mustard on anything either 😅
Her suit is probably by Todd Oldham. She wore a lot of his designs on the show.
When are y’all gonna put the nanny on Netflix or Hulu?!?!?
its on stan
It is on prime video
it was on roku for like a year only 2 seasons at a time and now its gone
All the seasons are on Amazon prime
It’s unavailable to watch in my location :/ I guess The Nanny hates NYC lol ironic, no?
As soon as Fran's eyes widened, I laughed so hard lol.
It was a true Lucille Ball moment.
2:27 Because I know I'm not the only one who wants to hear this a few more times.
Her comedy reminds me of the great Lucille Ball.
That was her inspiration for the character. She loved Lucille Ball.
The hole show was inspired in I Love Lucy.
I was thinking the same thing! Love it
All female based sitcoms, especially Laverne and Shirley, are based on I Love Lucy. Look at the duos out there. I am not disparaging them. It just is what it is. The ensemble casts are really the best way to go. And even they all go back to the golden age of television somehow.
I loved Fran her humour was just good old. Fashioned fun
lol poor Lauren, she was going to burst out laughing when Fran told her about the Oreo cookie magnet lol.
I ate wasabi for the first time last year thinking it was something else and my reaction was EXACTLY the same lol 😅💀
When I first tasted it, I thought it was avocado 🥑. 😂
Definitely the funniest scene in the entire series. Fran Drescher just had such a knack for physical comedy, and CC is so hilariously self-absorbed.
The way she fell and got back up like it was nothing is so accurate. Lmao
"You mean... Peppy didn't fly the plane?" :D :D
The comment i esa looking for...i loved that part and how they paid attention to little detalles like that
It was front pages like those that made a long checkout line wait more bearable.
A Lucille Ball moment
facts!!!
For sure
Even if Wasabi was like hot spicy mustard, that is an awful lot of “mustard” she puts on the sushi.
Even if it was a weakly spicy mustard...
it was guacamole you could tell by the texture, there is no way should could have ingested that much Wasabi at once (maybe an experienced competitive eater could handle that).
@@sanansa4567 I've gone almost that hard on a pile of wasabi. The problem isn't the effects, it's just that large amounts of wasabi taste terrible.
I see so much of Lucille Ball in Fran's performance in this scene. By far The Nanny is the funniest sitcom. I love it so much I have the DVD box set of the entire show. Sure wish they would do a reboot.
I do too!! Lucille was so funny im sure The Nanny took out a page from her. she was that good. May she R.I.P
No wonder i loved this show so much as a kid, i loved lucy as well
Lucille Ball and fran fine have no relevance to each other. They are both good in different era and not a comparison. Fran is much more acting out of a comedy that is based on British humour. m not Lucille Ball. I am European of course.
Now imagine Janice eating that much wasabi... do you think the friends would like her better, since she was a very nice person anyways?
Omg yes
Exactly!!! Chandler should have married her and Monica should have married Richard. That’s right, I said it!!!!!!!! Lol
@@TruthSayer2007 Richard was so hot. Monica and Richard together was fire. Lol
the "oh my God!" line wouldn't be the same tho....
@@wiezyczkowata No it wouldn't... it might actually be nice to hear it with that tone 🤣🤣🤣
This show was a PASSIONATE representation of the love Fran and her ex had for entertainment. This is very hard TV to do in front of a live audience. In all this time it’s beautiful and timeless.
I always thought Nanny Fine was the new Lucy, when you see these clips again, I just chuckle all over again.
True im sure they took a page out of the I love lucy formula because it was soo successful.
no comparison to Lucy. Both are great but Fran is much more involved in a British like comedy. Lucy is not
This part about voice was so funny! I thank you for post this video!
I love that Fran owns her voice.
@@Kaizerzydeco1 In my country Czech Republic, She was dubed by Magdalena Reifová. It isn't same but it was good choice, better than neighbour Germany. (How she looks - www.ceskatelevize.cz/ivysilani/1096128096-kouzelna-skolka/213543111090054/obsah/249150-3-vstup-majda-a-frantisek )
@@VitoxCzechia what do you say? o.o I loooove her voice in german, it's perfect!
@@aureliamartell2624 Sorry. My reason is my feeling. It isn't important that her voice isn't perfect for me. Important is that you like it. We will meet people who doesn't like what we like, whole life. I wish you have a lot of think what you like.
That Oreo cookie story makes me cry laughing every single time 🤣 😂 😭
We didn’t even realize these where the last years of actual funny tv programming.
ok boomer
@@loonzoldick actually he's right. and this is coming from a zoomer.
@@loonzoldick millennial here great times
I actually like wasabi and she's right, it does give the nasals a good clearing!
Her facial expression are priceless
I love seeing CC almost break character
The last part is comody gold !. How the voice got changed (but audience does not realize it until she mention about it), she question how long it will last and suddenly she get her normal voice back. But funnest is how she accepts her voice getting back to normal at the end with a facial expression and shoulder movement to say "oh well, yeah whatever !"..!
CC broke character at the Oreo bit!!!
I did the same exact thing my first time eating sushi. I was 12, and I had no idea what it was. I saw this little ball of green and thought "wow, this must be some veggie stuff" and put the whole ball in my mouth.
I RAN for my life to the toilets. Washed down the whole thing with a bottle of coca cola. Everyone in the restaurant was pissing themselves laughing
CC looks like the mother of the older daughter
I love this scene it shows how CC can get along with Fran
That happened to me when I mistook wasabi for Avocado!
That mustard really clears up the nasal pasages XD
Person: *Collapses on the floor*
Everyone else: *Looks, stares, turns away, nothing*
Yup. That’s New York for ya lol
1:50 the look on her faces says it all!
Stop 😂😂😂 I freaking CRIED I cant take it it's so funny I've watched this over and over and it is still a solid block of gold everytime!
I always loved how background characters never helped anyone in the foreground when they fell 😂 I miss 90s tv
Fran accidentally eating the fake sushi is me whenever I see hyper-realistic food displays in Japanese restaurant windows.
Fran Drescher has always seemed to me to be a modern day Lucille Ball!
I love how C.C. doesn't react at all to Fran falling to the floor.
Fran Drescher's voice makes everything funny!😂😂
lol she reminds me of Janice from Friends. they are so alike its uncanny.
the Dynasty re-enactment is still my all time fave Nanny scene
Krystal was renamed Lalique. 😂😂😂😂
wasabi always feels like your brain is melting, especially when you take just a little too much
You can easily see that she was a fan of Lucile Ball LOL
she may have been but nothing similar . The nanny was like a British comedy \.Lucy was based on a US american type of comedy and sense of humour. Please do not compare the two. It is so insulting
@@Ghrainne I see similarities. Just my opinion
Once somebody offered me *wasabi peas.* I thought they were just plain dried peas so I took a handful and chucked it in my mouth. I had the same reaction as Fran. 😅
Never again! Stayed away from wasabi ever since..
Tastes like a chemical..
Never again..
Symon Templar yeah it does. It tastes like artificial chemicals.
Took my husband out for sushi once, he never had it before. He ate all the wasabi in one bite lol, didn't even ask me first. Same thing happened to him. He didn't like sushi afterwards lol😂
Omg hear face expression,i forgot how funny she is 😄
The thumbnail was obviously inspired by "I love Lucy."
nonsense. nothing in common. You are probably a US American. I am European
That scene is 100 % true, i felt the same as i eat sushi with wasabi the first time. And i also felt that the nose was more free than ever.
The same thing happened to me when I was a kid. I was eating sushi and thought the wasabi was lime paste, so I put a heaping amount on top and ate it in one bite. I was in for a nasty surprise.
It's like a reverse helium
not even a actual person would use that much *mustard*
Wasabi is verrry spicy! It’s nothing “like mustard.”
I love this show this scene is so funny , I love the look on Fran’s face when she found out the wasabi was that hot. I also love how her voice changed.
Another classic! I remember this line for decades and always reminded of it everytime I eat sushi 😅
J Crz me too! Especially when I accidentally overdo it with the wasabi - because it really does clear out your sinuses. 😂😂
Two things:
Wasabi " warns " you it is hot as soon as you place the sushi on your tongue, there was no need to chew...AT ALL, before the heat kicks in except to let C.C. finish her lines.
And it's absolutely amazing how Ms Dresher was able to switch voices so seamlessly mid-word. That had to take a fair amount of rehearsals and concentration.
You have to chew the sushi, though.
I love this scene! And I did the same thing the first time I tried sushi. My sister had to fetch me three glasses of water.
I was like 9 years and obsessed with this show! Still hilarious 😂
Fran was one of my first crushes
My father once ate a handful of Wasabi without knowing it and the Owner gave him a look that showed he respected a man who could handle such heat. Inside my father was dying but never showed it. It was melting him.
Even if that was a very weak mustard, that would be an absurd amount to put on anything.
0:49 when cece breaks a bit and actually smiles at frans joke lol
Fran's suit is so fabulous
When TV was still good and not entirely vulgar in each episode.
Or trying to be political and edgy
, I know. Sigh.
Legit..shows these days are just garbage
@@JazHerrera nah, shows back then were garbage too
@@audermarspiguet6127 nah nah they were
I read Fran Dreschers biography and it was very enjoyable. She had a real tragedy but survived nicely
Holy shit, this happened to me the first time it tried sushi as well. For some reason I thought the wasabi was avocado and the look on everyone’s face when they saw me eat the whole thing was priceless, it did clear my sinuses for weeks tho lol
A few years ago a friend and I went out for sushi and he didn't really know much about sushi and I told him that Wasabi was avocado 😆I've never seen a drink go down so fast 😆
did a similar thing with my aunt XD she still doesn't trust me XDDD its been 10 years
@@Maya33777 it depends on the type of Friendship you have. If you are close you tend to do different types of tricks and jokes with your friends. It's pretty common but only allowed if you know the other person will laugh about it afterwards.
She is very underrated up there with Carrol Burnet and Lucielle Ball.
my grandmother HATES Fran Dreschers nasally voice but didn't know it was an act. I showed her this scene and she was surprised.
Just like people thought Bobcat Goldthwait and Gilbert Gottfried actually sounded like their standup characters.
That's her real voice. Because I just watched an interview of her talking and she still sounds like the nanny LOL
people talk about how we're not ready for her real voice hut can we just appreciate how she was able to turn her nasally voice back on at the drop of a hat
CC was the BEST of the show, I watched the serie for the first time in 2020 thanks to some cuts of CC and Niles pranks
Fran is so cute
Just so hilariously silly - I love the "dammit" shaking of the fist hahaha
I loved Fran Fine!!!
1:30am and I'm laughing my head off😂😂😂
I love this show so much omg
proof that women can be funny and hot at the same time
She was a modern day Lucy ♡ She was so funny!
It happened to me once, my first time at a sushi restaurant, it was embarrasing and it hurts 😅🤣😆
One of my favorite scenes ever in this show
Imagine if Fran ate wasabi all the time.....
You’re eating the display 😂😂 lmaooo
LOL! I did the same mistake with wasabi the first time I saw it! I took a big lump in my mouth and went straight back off the chair!!
Wasabi is what I use before I have to resort to Sudafed for congestion
I have a feeling they used guacamole when shooting this scene ;-)
Yah, I thought it WAS AVACADO TOO :)))
C.C is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo beautiful!
Brilliant! I'm so glad I grew up (and learned Englisg) watching this.
First time at a Japanese grill. My wife took the whole dab of Wasabi I swear it was in slow motion cause I tried to stop her. Every body at the table freaked She thought it was guacamole
Even with that voice, she was the perfect woman for me
One if my favorite Nanny moments!
She's such an icon! Love her
Oh my! That's a LOT of wasabi..lol
Loool I did not see that coming 😅
Best comedy show evah!
