Her voice never annoyed me. But supporting LGBTQ+ is a different story
"My mom and sister have the same voice... my poor dad!"
*laughs like the nanny* 😂
Oh wow lady
That line was gold, you have to be open minded to be funny, and she totally gets lol
makes me think of that one Justin Bieber interview "i like that laugh.. AHAHAHA 😬 "
Like? She is the nanny mam 😂😂
Lol that's just her normal laugh
I always remember the episode where she eats some sushi that she's just ladled a mound of wasabi onto, and then says, in a deep, rich, clear voice, "Gee, y'know, that mustard really clears up the nasal passages. I *like* it. I wonder [fades back into her real voice] how long it'll last." Single funniest moment on the show.
I've never watched this show but, I was randomly recommended that very clip on CZcams not 2 days ago.
Very hilarious. 😂
@@NarwahlGaming I got that one yesterday and this today. weird Cause I usually watch documentaries
I saw that recently and wondered how much of her nasal voice is put on and what she really sounds like when she isn't trying to affect any "sound."
It's like Jim Nabors... was that Andy Griffith Show voice really his natural voice? We know what his singing voice is like - a nice baritone - does there have to be such a vast difference between the two?
Tom Baker - Americans' favorite Doctor Who - is well-known for his beautiful voice and impeccable RP "posh" dialect. But he's from Liverpool! I bet he trained himself into that voice.
@@BegoneJonah her voice is naturally nasally like in the video. But she definitely plays it up.
I just watched it 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I swear that woman's beauty never fades away no matter what her age is
She fine no doubt
@@chadwells7562 She puts the FINE in Nanny Fine 😏
Her voice really isn't that bad its just unlike anything most people have heard. Her voice is more interesting and exotic rather than annoying.
she puts it into overdrive for her act tho
@Fred Derry Yeah I noticed that too I still love it tho
It's completely put on....as was Gilbert Gottfried's (RIP).
Gross!!! Exotic???😂🤣
it's like on the cusp of giving up the ghost
Here’s an idea: they should do “The Granny” she would be looking after her grandchildren :D
That's so funny cuz on another interview she said they asked her to play a grandma and she said it better be a hot one!

She looks 45, my gosh, I cant believe she is over 60. She looks amazing!!!
Holy crap shes over 60!!!
She was mid 30s to early 40s while the Nanny aired
45 is a stretch. More like mid-50's.
She looks her age.
It's because she laughs so much !! Keeps one young.
Always hear different actors talk about when they were young, they were told they wouldn't make it unless they changed to be just like everyone else. Yet having something different is what allowed them to stand out and acheive their goals.
So true. So sad that most of us are told to change who we are for the comfort of someone else. I’m starting a new job next week after pandemic unemployment and even at age 37 I am petrified because I hear my ‘dad’ telling me I’m stupid ringing in my ears. I have a uni degree and still feel like I won’t be able to do this job.
True, but unfortunately there are many others who we don't hear about - those whose difference wasn't accepted and who were never able to succeed due to silly prejudiced and ideas.
It depends, some people got better and even more famous after they had plastic surgery.
They think that only what precisely happens in the past is possible to happen in the future. But things are always changing and people need novelty, so that's a stupid way of thinking.

Wait... That's her real voice?! I honestly thought it was an act. Bless her heart.
Same here. Especially after the episode (Just an excerpt actually; I've never made it through a full episode with the clownish acting and her earsplitting voice) where she eats wasabi and for a minute loses the adenoidal drone&squeek. Now I'm puzzled that someone who can speak so normally would continue with this tone.
@@WeTubule what the hell? So she should talk a certain way just to meet your standards? She's an actress, she can act. Doesn't mean a more normal voice would be comfortable long-term. What do you tell everyone with a foreign accent who can do an American accent that they should just speak American? Or the other way around? They can't because it's not natural or comfortable to them
@@mystymysty3667 what does that even mean haha... Not a native English speaker?

- My sister and her 2 daughters sound exactly alike.
I don't know if it's her voice or her accent is more annoying but her laugh is horrible! I still like her! 😃
(And i NEVER watched any of her show!) Go figure! 🤔
Was that maybe the inside joke why we never see Fran's father in "The Nanny?"
I'm pretty sure the father had the same accent and it was Queens so it was very normal to them.

Igor Salaj her voice in a first season is tottaly different.
The Nanny is srsly one of the most underrated sitcoms of all time!
Agreed!
Agreed! Best actors and writing and fashion
People need to stop using "overrated" and "underrated", as they never use them correctly.
A show with 37 awards, including induction into the Television Hall of Fame, which consistently had a weekly viewership above 13 million people, and was one of the highest rated TV sitcoms of the 90s, is far from "underrated" smh
Underrated?? It was very popular. I actually started watching it online a few weeks back again and its still great.
Her laugh is contagious!
I recall seeing Fran as a guest on the Tonight Show. An animal trainer was also on the show. The trainer brought out a goat that started bleating and Fran started to laugh in her unique way -- and the goat bleated back.
Had the biggest crush on her growing up, she's still beautiful 😊
I did too. 😅
Take a number.
Her voice is annoying.
She's 60 in this? Jesus. She looks fantastic.
Man, she still looks really good. Didn't turn into some hollywood plastic surgery monster. She's hardly wearing any make up. Very impressive.
Just top 0.01% when it comes to genes.
She looks great for her age. If she has had any work done, it's very subtle. So many celebs go way overboard on the botox, and it's not a good look; I'm glad she didn't go that route.
You can tell cause she can still move her forehead
She does look beautiful. But it’s hilarious what men think “hardly any makeup” looks like. She has on a full face of makeup in this video, dude 💀
She also had, cancer:(

Since the Nanny came out on TV years ago, I've been compared to Fran Drescher in my voice (originally came from the same place, but I have lived all over the country since my 20s -- though my accent never went away), sense of humor and in looks. Even to this day. I'm always extremely flattered, because I think Fran is a gorgeous lady, funny, down-to-earth, and seems like a genuinely nice person.
Her voice is unique, not in a bad way!
I always figured she was super nice and pleasant in real life... but the voice and laugh are totally real and a part of her!!!😯 PS she has aged REALLY WELL!
She casually wears that flip-flop, so cute!
Sweet relaxed person. Nobody’s perfect, in fact our imperfections define us as well as our qualities so, they’re all part of our identity. Very smart of her to realise it early enough.
I LOVE her voice!!! It’s SO much fun and different!! She’s a breathe of fresh air!
The way her voice randomly squeaks is still so cute.
It is not always easy to laugh at oneself. I doff my hat to you, Fran!
Her voice is 1 of the things ppl love about her the most! ❤❤❤

I am so happy to see she hasn't messed with her beautiful face. she's aging really well.
Ain't she just great. I love watching the re-runs of the Nanny.

She has makeup on! She doesn't have it exaggerated. NO ONE not even men get in front of a camera, on a professional level w/o make-up on. Sorry that's the industry!

Fran is a truly humble, folksy (in a big city kinda way) person with no pretenses. She’s an entrancing subject for an interview with her disarming warmth, good humor, and the most beautiful smile on the planet. I’m literally all smiles while watching her in any video clip. Voices definitely can run in families. I was watching a British TV show, Midsomer Murders, and something about one actress playing a minor role made me think I'd seen her before, but couldn't recall the name. Then a name popped into my head: Annette Crosbie. But this actress didn't look anything like her. I watched the show credits carefully to find out the actress's name. It was Selina Griffiths, but I'd never heard that name before. So I looked her up on Wiki and discovered there that she was Annette Crosbie's daughter.
She's been opening up about her voice for 30 years!
Wow! She looks so different here but she looks so vibrant and young still
She sounds so cute omg :-D
She has a NY Brooklyn Queens long island accent. It vary's a bit from each location and the neighborhood you grew up in, but essentially that is a NY Voice. Italian, Black, Jew, white, Irish, etc all have tweaked accents that surround that tenor. Only people from Manhattan typically had voices without heavy accents. Oddly enough People from upstate NY had accents more like Texans!! nothing at all like those from the metropolitan area. Then again NY's metro area is the heart of immigrant migration. And as each peoples clustered into their own groups and neighborhoods so did their dialect's accents and styles intermingle with one another. Only those who didn't speak any English truly held onto their homeland accents, but their children and descendants picked up the new accents and slang, because it reinforced your origins. Birds of feather flock together, and speak the common tongue. and oh.. BTW.. you should never EVER remove your native tongue and accent for the sake of others. Be yourself!! if they dont like it, the who the hell do they think they are!? Im not talking about profanity. yes that you can loose. Im talking about your legend, where your from.

I thought your post was fascinating and very informative! I'm in Wisconsin and have the Fargo-type accent. In that movie the accent was exaggerated but still pretty accurate. Our accents in this part of the country are mainly rooted in the speech patterns of long-ago Scandinavian and German settlers and immigrants. But-east, west north, and south-it's all good!😀
I like your explanation of origins of accents from New York. It was very interesting. Thank you for sharing!
