Hello!
Yay
Love you guys! Keep it up
REACT hello I was waiting for your video
You straight up robbed them of the fun of heating up your MRE in the packet with the water you pour in.
Good thing they're using present day ones. Back in the old days MRE was more like "Meals Refused by the Enemy".
Omg đ
lennier1 good one
Serving the food on a plate takes the fun and excitement out of an mre, not to mention all they were served was a straight up main course group. I think they wouldâve had more fun unpacking and cooking the food in the bags themselves, as well as having access to jams and other stuff the mres contain to make the food taste better.
Military react to College kids eat Military meals
I want to see this.
I would pay to watch that
To be honest mres look and probably taste better than my schools food
I would love to see that
We lived off of MREs after the floods in Louisiana. They look awful. Donât always taste the best. But it was all we had access to. I appreciated every one I got. The military did what they had to do, to make sure we had food and water. I wouldnât go out and get them willingly. But I felt so blessed to have them, in my time of need. Otherwise I would have went hungry.
Mollie Baker Hey. đ
Mollie Baker my family too
I had them in the military and I would get them willingly lol
I actually liked them when I was overseas lol. Although some were not the best. In Afghanistan, they had brought some packs of mountain house meals and they were actually better than anything from the mess hall at base.
I wish you had had then make the MREs in the bags. Thatâs part of the experience.
BecBoops yeah idk what the hell those are but i was expecting other kinds of mres
And make them eat outside with a bulletproof west on.
I'd like to see Elders try MREs, with most of the Elders being war Veterans, please. The MREs have gotten way better than the 60s, right?
eastportland thats a great idea makes sense
Im not sur but I think back then they didnt have real MREs like this. They were probably alot more fresh because you couldnt keep them fresh for as long as these days.
At least they understand that our Military doesn't have a choice sometime & it's a source of survival !!!
Army veteran here. I never had these pastry things in my MREs, but I did have things like chicken tetrazzini, pork ribs, chicken parmesan, etc. The things that you had to heat up to eat with the enclosed heating pad. Also, MRE does not stand for Meal, Ready to Eat. It either stands for mystery (MRE like Mr. E) or Meal, Rejected by Ethiopia.
âIt tastes like regret... Sadness... â
*_ME_*
They really aren't eating MRE's. They're eating some components of a few of the MRE's, but to say they're eating MRE's is really stretching things.
In total (in the US), there are 24 different MRE menus. They ate one entree and a couple of different snacks/sides.
REACT should buy a case, let the kids pick the menu they want to try, then go from there.
Agree 100%
I agree
What Tom said is so true, MRE's humble you to appreciate and not take for granted being able to eat normal food on a daily basis. I loved his statement. You can tell that Tom is a caring and kind hearted young man.
MRE Cheese sauce should replace Coal for kids on the Naughty List.
He's got such a kind soul!
Please have another episode where they actually open them and have to use the heaters. That's all part of the experience
Hunter DosReis the best part would be watching them try to figure out how to open the packets.
I wish you let them open the MREs
I know that's the whole point of an MRE.
Girl "it smells like dog food"
Guy "it smells like spaghetti and meatballs" đđ
Bear: it smell like my spaghet
" Taste like regret.... and sadness " đ wow good description
When you are on the front line and this is all you can eat.....its like Christmas. no one who served that Iâ know and work with ever complained about them, they were just happy for a hot, filling meal.
How can they not include chili-mac?!?!
Peter Dillenbeck my thoughts exactly!
Jalapeño cheese baby. The bestđđœđđœ
Ben Shafer gotta go with that peanut butter though
Peter Dillenbeck omg yed
IDK, maybe something about violating the Geneva Convention?
When she explains that MREs are used in combat, it sounds like the military throws them at the enemy as a weapon.
Bob Roberts if they did trust me it would then be considered inhumane.
Lol!
The pork sausage and gravy doubles as a biological weapon.
I remember being in the barrack and sometimes we were too lazy to go down to the mess hall to eat. We had a bunch of MREs, we would heat up the water in the bathroom sink (Ours water got really hot), put the packets in the water. When they floated to the top, that meant they were done and we had our lunch/dinner without leaving our room.
Lol yâall hooked them up with the good ones. Should of gave them the breakfast ones đđ.
Manny S cheese and veggie omelet
My God those were the only ones we would not eat. I had to do training at Fort Bliss and when the dfac was closed we would have MREs. They would always have the breakfast ones left over
#respect for the men and women in the military đđŻ
John .C my brother is in the navy
Respect.
No.
Amen
Absolutely. Thank you to anyone who is currently serving or has served. Nothing but the utmost respect to youđđđđâ
I'm upset because part of eating an MRE is for the experience and actually taking it out of the package yourself and heating it if necessary.
My husband would keep different things from all of his different MREâs to make different meals from them. I believe they called it âranger mealsâ. Or have them figure out how to do make a actual MRE.
Misty Cruz I'd just make one full of the candy đđ
Me and my brothers used to eat MREâs a lot because we thought they were so cool and my parents let us cook them ourselves. My dad was in the military for 26 1/2 years and he would eat MREâs a lot and we were little kids so we wanted to be like our dad. He has been retired for about 10 years now, I think, but we still have MREâs in a container that are still good. I just think MREâs are really cool.
Yep, I feel the same about astronaut food! But obviously not as much as you!
Yes! My dad was a marine so we always got MREâs and we honestly loved them haha.
Haha same! Me and my lil brother used to go to my dad's military base every day after school. All the soldiers knew us and we'd eat MREs because they simply tasted good.
you could buy it at army stores
Aww that was a cute read.
Give them real mres
I've had MRE's that were full bags of dessert, drinks and main dishes, wtf are those bread things? đ
Lol right . Iâm so confused. Iâve never even seen them things before
Up to 5 years huh..... tell why I got a few that were packaged in 2001 on deployment in 2017.
SovietBean that's brutal
They need to get the whole bag and open it all themselves! Getting to see all of the components and decide what you're going to risk your stomach on is half of the fun. Where else are you going to get your drink from a bag?
MREs are literally the best, when I eat them I typically already havenât eaten much or have used so much energy they are just really good. I wish yâall had them open the full pack with the heaters, wouldâve been hilarious watching them figure it out.
I would've LOVED to have seen them try to make a complete meal
Yeah they dropped the ball on this one, would have been much more fun watching them figure it out
I wish I could get MREs. Where would I get them. Sure would be cool if I went on an adventure and I had one in my backpack.
âTastes like regret...and sadness.â đđ
Chilli Mac best mre
I was about to write the same thing
TRUTH
Being a current service member I can say these meals only give you what you need to get through the day when youâre in the field for weeks at a time. Itâs makes you appreciate everything youâve left behind. Iâve lived on these things and they get old really fast.
I'd have to agree with a lot of the comments I'm seeing. What the heck are these sandwich MREs? I've never seen those. Where are the good ones and the classic ones? Plus, you should give them the full experience from start to finish of at least one of them.
Come on, let them get the full meal experience, tear open the package, see how it is set up, teach them how to warm it up with the little water heaters.
That's what I was thinking.
âTaste like regret.. and sadness..â đđđ Ethan cracked me up! LOL
It would have been so much fun to watch them try and follow the cooking instructions themselves!
I met this guy that had been in the military and he said you just try MREs till you find the one you like and then you only eat that one.
Comparing to the food we eat out in the wild this food is like 5 star
When you're out in the field and haven't eaten all day and are really tired those MREs are really really delicious
As anyone who's had to eat this stuff for a regular period of time can tell you, hunger is definitely the best spice.
The House Always Wins War never changes
They don't even know. These must be a newer MRE. I remember the "McRib" between two kinda wheat bread pieces with what is assumed to be a cheese spread. Some assembly required. Lol. My favorite was the cheese tortellini and strawberry shake.
Kids/Elders react to Steve1989MRE!
They need to redo this with the MREs from early 2000s and not have them pre opened. Then need to figure out how to cook and eat them, but then they can be told the mixtures on how they can be made to taste better. No plates or bowls. Eat It out of the container.
"Tastes like regret. And sadness." đđđ
Is Brooklin okay? She seems out of it or sick. Her usual energy isn't there.
Alfonso Cardoso i thought i was the only one that seen that
yeah i noticed that aswell
i noticed this with everyone except ethan james. nobody really smiled at all
If you had to eat MREs you wouldn't be smiling either.
I've been in the military for 7 years and I've never seen most of the first MRE's haha. Sandwiches?? Bruh...
I wish y'all would have given them the whole mre and have them heat it up themselves, mix their own drink, try out the snacks that come with it.
i was going to make this exact comment
Unfortunately this is React and not CrazyRussianHacker.
cromusic ibra đ
I prefer the old ones that you have to put the food bag in the water bag to cook it. Remember donât smell the fumes or it could be hazardous lol then eat your food after it cooks in the cardboard box it came in. Lol some people will know what Iâm talking about. I love the chili Mac ones and the chicken Alfredo. But stay away from the Mac n cheese.
Have them open up the packets. Let them see what they actually get. Let them use the hot sauce if they want. Give them more of the full experience.
My favorite reactions:
"Tastes like regret...and sadness."
"It has an aftertaste of...soil."
12 years in the Army and Iâve never seen the French toast...
Dennis Moody Right?!?!
Dennis Moody help sub to me
someone get this man some french toast, cuz your missing out on the best foods in life.
also thank you for your service ^^
As someone who is in the military, they got the good stuff
They should try the veggie omelet.
Honestly, the food looks good...
It's like they say, looks don't matter, it's what's inside that matters
They're not. At all
I've had one and it was really good
Heather Webb Howâd you get one?
Family member that was I. The army
Im from puerto rico when maria came we had to eat that for 2 months until the light came back but its not very good but i thank the army for feeding us
I've eaten these for 1 year straight, then again for 1 year straight and then again. Let's just say I've eaten a couple thousand of these over 20 years of service. I have 3 cases in the basement just in case I miss the old days.
Cass Larsen Thank you for your service.
They should let them try to COOK the food too with the heater bag.
Some of those MRE options are definitely new, I would have remembered a French toast MRE while I was in the service. The only MRE's I remember from this video were the vegetarian pasta, and the beef stew MRE's.
those are still the only 2 that are real
that is - at least as I understand it - becuase those were civilian relief versions not the military version of the MRE.
We're Not just watching kids/teens react, we're also watching every single one of them grow, like ALIX'S PHASES for example
I lost it when Ethan said "it tastes like regret" đ
Aww, the good old days, when a bag of M&Ms was a tradable commodity.
When I was in JROTC I went to a summer camp and we had to eat MRE's. I traded some Jelly for some M&Ms with my Tac. Best trade ever
Oh lord the fire guard shifts I've bought out of with Reese's Pieces.
Meanwhile at Crazy Russian Hacker: OMG these are SO good, I can survive a whole year with these MRE no problem.
Dude no! The packaging is half the experience!
u gotta use the tabasco sauce! MRE's are no good without it!
âTastes like regret, and sadnessâ
Have fun pooping guys. They say that true pain is MREâs leaving the body
MRE's are gourmet food compared to the old C-rations that the military used to serve to troops in the field.
Of course they never got to eat any of the deserts, snack bars, cookies, or got that cute tiny little bottle of tobasco sauce we used to get in ours.
I think it would have been more fun to hand them the brown bag and have them make the MREs
I really wish they would have had them open an mre with all the other stuff inside and have them Cook it with the packet that's inside
That's what I wanted to
I've never even seen those first 3! Lol jeez. Beef stew is definitely one of the better ones đ
I feel like the fact that they donât open the packages and sort out what they have, and get the opportunity to trade with eachother that they are missing out on the experience.
Darkman McEdgeface agreed... also I have never seen any of these Hot Pocket looking things before is that new I've only been out for 3 years
"It tastes like regret. And sadness" đđ
I've eaten a lot of mres in my time in the army and I've never seen french toast, bbq chicken, italian sandwich mres where did they get these
I said the same thing, those aren't US GOV MREs.
LDRLegend same
I had the barbecue chicken before back in 2009.
3:15 "It smells like dog food"
3:17 "It kind of smells like spaghetti and meatballs"
As someone who served in the Army in the mid-80's and had to eat the original MREs, I can tell you that they have improved a lot since then.
The first four aren't varied in form as most MREs I've come across, but the sameness of them all is basically what occurs after eating just MREs in the field. Advanced technique: bring your own snacks!
Thank god for Tom because honestly I was sitting here thinking about how most people eating these have no choice and are probably incredibly grateful just to have them in the first place đ
They honestly got the better MRE's though because I'll never forget having a completely liquefied Southwest Style beans & beef that was like baby food
Lyssa Losa That sounds horrendous.
Veggie Omelette
After Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico đ”đ· we had to eat alot of those! The ribs tasted amazing!đ
This honestly looks better than my school lunch
How sad.
I understand why you prepared it for them, but not having them open the pack and having the spice pack to use really takes away from the experience of MREs
jay prkr right . Plus they need the full experience.
Would love to see a soldier react to the reactors
Keyton1972 just scroll through the comments đ
Keyton1972 I'm reacting rn lol. they gave them all the good ones.. those sandwichesâ, I've never seen them, they might not be what we actually get issued...
The bridgford sandwiches are standalones, they don't come as entrees in full ration packs
I was referring to making a video similar to how they do with the artist ie... Noah Cyrus, Linkin Park and Motley Crue
That actin like food critics when itâs supposed to last and fill the person up lol
"Tastes like regret... and sadness."
These must be after my time. The best we had was Jambalaya. To get the full experience of MREs, you have to also drink tepid water from a suspicious-smelling canteen, and you have to only eat half because you know after you eat you have to go on a 5 mile run and anything you eat is going to be coming back up. And how dare you give them MREs without letting them figure out the heating pouch. To be honest, I ate more Slim Jims and cans of Chef Boyardee heated on the back of my tank than I ate MREs. And giant muffins. No matter what base you went to in Iraq, there were loads and loads of giant muffins.
Or wrestle for that one that has the candy in it.
If you opened one that had milkshake powder in it, you could expect to be murdered sometime in the next few minutes. We would hide the M&M packets from the Drill Sergeants, like "are we allowed to have these? nom nom nom"
What are these giant muffins of which you speak? I was there in 04/ 05 and we had some kind of Indian food trucked in to us. I would've damn sure wrestled for a giant muffin! I wonder if the creamer in the new MREs is still flammable...
Maybe it's because we were never back in time for the makeshift chow hall's slop, but there was always a basket of Otis Spunkmeyer muffins on a table that I used to hoard back in the storage container we slept in. Those and the Iraqi energy drink that we called Boom Booms (I think they had nicotine in them) pretty much made up my diet from 06-07 in Ramadi.
I liked the one with a poppy seed thing.
Yâall got the Air Force MREs
Let's go Chair Force
You have not experienced MRE's until you have endured the Hell called Omelet with Ham.
My sister had some bcs she's in the army, and they have peanut butter and tootsieroles
I think what people don't understand is when you're in the military food is food. So they say they wouldn't eat it, but I mean, let's be real. đ
My dad is in the military and I've had a couple of MREs and they were good
I've been in the Army for about five and a half years now and I never seen them come in a sandwich form like the ones they are eating. I mean they might have them like that but I never seen them like that not even when I was in RC south.
Henry Martinez these are more for the civilians in disaster relief. Red Cross uses these.
Mc Nugget did u see the peckage these came from?
Red Crose never uses this type of package. im in iraq and all those were not the type what my evacuters had as meals....
I've never seen them either
Hurricane Katrina and Rita had us on these.. mAn the beef stew was amazing đđđđđ
I would love to see the military react to this lmao
Weâd destroy these things đ
nah not eating them react to these guys eating them lol
They never gave us one with French Toast
Lord Willshire ive never even heard of the first 3. I usually get the ones similar to the last 2
We never get breakfast MREs or the pocket sandwiches. Iâve had this stuff for six years and never seen most of these.
wich ones do you get? just the stew kinda stuff?
I love seeing these reactions because this was my reaction back when IKE hit Houston and I had to eat these MRE again with Harvey but I didnât complain as much
Thanks to all the soldiers who serves our country â€
We had to eat a bunch of these MRE's on Puerto Rico when hurricane Maria happened. Even though through time it was the only thing we could actually eat, it was still good and we we're grateful for it... it has been tough, we've had some loses but we're strong and we're managing!
Did you lose people to the hurricane or the MRE's?
How can you not let them try the Chili Mac?
"MRE: meal ready to EATS". So close....but so far. Meals Ready to Eat
