- Our road trip in Tibet does finally start. Today, we went from Lhasa (3656m) to Tuiwa (5070m) the second highest village in the world only 30 meters below La Rinconada in Peru.
The landscape over 4000m is quite incredible, clear skies, shiny blue lakes, and very changeable weather.
Altitude sickness is also paramount, we got oxygen bottles with us, and even the hotel in Tuiwa has the rooms equipped with oxygen machines.
On our way we met incredibly nice people, Tibetan Mastiff dogs, and witnessed a water burial ceremony.
Join me on my journey to the highest village in Tibet :)

The infrastructure in this height must be very difficult to build. The road looks new and well maintained. China has done an incredible job connecting remote areas.
Permafrosts to be considered in building new ones, expanding existing ones or rebuilding old ones
the first modern road from inland China to Tibet was built from 1951 to 1954, by the army, 3000 died throught the construction
For good reason 👀🇺🇸
There is a reason: They want to deploy the minerals from Tibet and bring there nuclear plant waste. And where is mining is also natural destruction. So its good business for the Chinese and bad one for the Tibetians.
Yeh, puts the PLA at a massive disadvantage to the Indians.
Those highest altitude points almost looked like Mars. And the low clouds were really breathtaking.
When you're 5.000m above sea level, everything is breathtaking 😂
@@Albuny. Every step and every movement is breathtaking.
❤
Yeah it should take your breath away 😂😂😂
yeah, if you gonna remove 6km of soil on Mars, - it will look like Earth ;-)
I'm super excited that she will being sharing her experiences in western China, Tibet, and Xinjiang with us. Hope Yan has the best time during these travels, and am looking forward to these upcoming videos.
@@pingpong7810lmao, 2020 supar pauwa
😻
@@pingpong7810lol, even Tibetan looks more like a Chinese not like an Indian, how comes it part of India? You CIA shills....
@@pingpong7810 the whole world is part of India, except South Korea. India is part of Korea.
Yan, my partner and I are so happy you've made friends with fellow CZcamsrs and get to travel to even more unique and remote places! I looks like your having fun 😊
😻😻
as a senior I don't believe I could visit those breathtaking places, thank you Yan for bringing them to our room, take care and stay healthy.
Use trains
You can visit XinJiang, also breathtaking view but lower altitude.
oh my these videos are a real treasure. such a precious glimpse into a corner of the world many of us probably won't see in their entire life. thank you for your hard work and stay healthy up there!
I was really excited by the view of the lake at an altitude of 4000 feet from sea level. And apparently there is also a hotel available at an altitude of 5070 feet. Thanks for sharing your adventure.
Actually it is 5070 meters, which is 16633 feet! It is so amazing!
@@jackyl110 O Okay my friend. Thanks for the correction. I really appreciate it 🙏
You are good at connecting with the locals that usually resulted in very fruitful conversations with them. Great work. Another well narrated and enjoyable video📽 with beautiful scenery. Take care & thank you Yan 💕
it is amazing to have a descent place to stay at that high latitude. Looking forward to your other Tibet videos!
That hotel was really nice.
My present level is 97! The growth on the rock by the Lake is a moss, but called a cushion plant, we have one high in the mountains here called Vegetable Sheep, Latin: Raoulia. They grow to 2 meters in width and half a meter high, abouts. Loved the whole journey, no, it isn't easy dealing with Altitude. You have to live/adapt to it.........Magic Yan.......as all ways......
As an Indian, im mostly aware of only our side of tibet which is the same landscape and people. Thanks for showing the other end. I have to say Chinese side is much more developed than our side.
Thanks again little Chinese everywhere ❤ stay safe and blessed.
Indians have not captured Tibet , there is no Tibet this side u fake Chinese agent . Chinese CCP monster would sheel mortar or kill u at tianmen square if u tell the truth .u are doomed
Hello from a Hong Kong viewer. I travelled Tibet when I was young. It was my most unforgettable experience in my life. A place like heaven with beautiful sceneries and nice people. Thank you for your video.
Hi Yan !!! I am Very Happy You Are in Heavens! You Know I Really Appreciate All Your Efforts in Making This Videos. Thank You For Making Us Feel Happy Every Week Showing Us Your Beatiful Country→ I LOVE CHINA ! You Take Care and Be Happy! → Fernando
Welcome to China
Thank you for your kind words!!
And your support of course! :)
Hi Yan from Scotland! Thankyou for another entertaining , informative video ! I am learning so much about China and it's provinces , greatly due to your meticulous step by step guidance .. I can safely say that you are a shoo - in for TV work when your travelling time is over . All the best to you and your companions .
Delighted you are on this road trip! I traveled on part of this road while it was being excavated in 2007. Landslides from the new cuts into the mountain slopes caused our vehicle to stop & at times even get stuck. We had to get out & stand in the rain while the vehicle became freed. Yes! It is COLD! Even on sunny days in the summer the air is brisk. I loved it there! No altitude sickness problems for me. The beauty is stunning! Love your drone footage, even as the car is moving.
Those landscapes are absolutely unreal. Gorgeous.
I hiked to Mt Whitney with a friend many years ago. Although I have hiked to several nearby peaks at around 10,000 ft without any problem, I learned the hard way what was AMS from that trip. When we were approaching the peak, my discomfort was getting worse quickly and I felt like my head was about to split into two parts. At the peak of Mt Whitney, I had to urge my friend to shorten the stay on the top. We quickly descended and my "hangover" feeling finally went away.
I have been fortunate to have traveled to many places in China with my Chinese friends. Some of the places were far enough off the beaten path that I was the only 外国人😊 there, and I loved it. Your videos remind me how beautiful China is. Thank you!
Absolutely loved visiting Tibet and fortunately I had very little problems with the altitude and have a great desire to return. I was there end of April early May when there was still lots of snow. It would have been great if we had been there at the same time as yourself and met you in person. So looking forward to watching this episode of your travels.
Hi. I have trouble breathing here at home, Beaufort SC. Due to allergies. So I am pretty sure I will not make it in Tibet. And Colorado. 😊
Loved the video! Very informative and entertaining. Can't wait to see more. Thank you.

Yan, You are really good at this! You do an excellent job with video editing, and you provide so much interesting history and background to everywhere you take us. thanks so much (and you're also soooo cute!)
Beautiful camera work as always. Fantastic travel vlog. Cant wait for the next one. :)
For people who live in high-altitude areas all year round, the blood oxygen concentration is 80-90%, which is relatively normal. When ordinary people go to high altitude areas, if the blood oxygen concentration is lower than 80%, they will experience altitude sickness. If the blood oxygen concentration is lower than 75%, it is very dangerous. The blood oxygen concentration of 75% is almost the limit of human beings. Tibet is full of high-altitude areas above 5,000 meters above sea level, so prepare more oxygen and take care of your body. I hope to continue to see your next video.
Loved seeing you play with the big dogs! Fantastic travelogues, thank you for sharing
Thank you so much. Wow. This is one of the most amazing videos I have watched ever on CZcams! It is very interesting and you provide so many details about things that other people never talk about. The man who rode there on the bicycle - what an adventurous person!
Great to see this place again. I did visit it about 5 years ago. It was early October and the weather was great. The China Bhutan Himalayas are very close and fortunately I had a great view of the mountains. Its a beautiful area.
This is the most awesome and unique video, thanks for sharing your travel in Tibet.

Great aerial beauty of Tibet. Two good-looking guys and a charming girl to show us the unheard-of places and peculiar customs of Tibet and Xinjiang, interacting at a deeper level with locals that foreigners like us would love to do but may be difficult for various reasons. Look forward to more but stay healthy always.

Definitely I will save this video of yours in my fb !!! For future references. My desire to visit Tibet jumps beyond 8,000 altitude , HAHAHA😁. That funeral types makes Tibet more mystical , its only now I learned of water funeral. Just watching the lake , beyond its amaxing landscape , I can feel its holy and sacred place . Im a Catholic 6, but if I consider Budhist belief , maybe I use to live in Tibet in my previous life . 😍
