- In this video Flo and I are on our way to Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. We have left Lanzhou and the Hexi Corridor and entered the Loess Plateau until we finally reached the Tibetan Plateau in southern Gansu Province. In the region between the Loess and Tibetan plateau, and the population is predominately muslim. We stopped in a small Muslim town called for the first time Dongxiang, and made an amazing experience with Dongxiang People. They were one of the most hospitable we have met on our journey together. Dongxiang people belong to the Hui ethnicity which officially is one of the 56 ethnicities in China. Every village has an own mosque, which have a really unique style. The mosques reflect a mixture of Islamic and traditional Chinese style. We have never seen something like that before. In the end we finally reached Gannan Tibetan Autonomous prefecture, which is a kind of its own... but this we will reveal in the next video :)
Join us on this mesmerizing adventure through Muslim China and its hospitable people ☺️

I am a Muslim and I would love to go to China and see my brothers in religion and pray in a Chines Mosque- I love your videos, you open up for an understanding of China- Great work, well done.
It's a beautiful thing when wildly different people can find a commonality
Brother, don't come
@@afreeman_who are you?

@@afreeman_ You would rather believe in Western media than your own eyes.
The singular thing I love your channel is that there are no politics involved, just wonderful sights, incredible people and your personality describing the beauty of China.
Thank you for your unbiased presentation of real China and Chinese people, including the numerous minority ethnic groups. It looks like hospitality and friendliness towards travellers being part of the culture. Stunning images as well 👍
Agreed
I heard from another traveling channel that the countries or communities where they were better treated was muslim. Don't know if that's because they prophet was a traveler. But it's really nice to see people show how they really are, earms the heart, specially with all the hate towards them.
It's part of the Islamic teachings that we have to be kind and compassionate with one another, and also to travelers and even non-believers, as we are all The Almighty's creations.
I am a 60 year old newly converted (to Islam) Chinese man from Malaysia, and that what I have learned in Islam is not what I have been led to believe previously from those that I read about.
Oh, how friendly the chinese people are! Yan, thank you for showing us the hidden gems of this lovely country. I'll start to save money to visit China one day. ❤
It will be the last thing you ever do will be arrested and charged as a spy hopefully you not Muslim as then you will also get your organs harvested
This is not on the regular tourist map, is it? What a sight, something you dont see in most parts of China with so many beautiful mosques. Living harmoniously with each other. I get to see this thanks to you. Cheers to Flo to make your trip more lively & attract so many curious stares - wunderbar!
You should be a national hero in your country for making these fantastic, insightful, and heartwarming videos.
Everything in China is beautiful even the mountains , rivers and mosque are amazing .
May Allah Bless China ❤❤❤❤
Yes, everything, including Chinese style Islam 😂😂
@@muser_sdctrixmz1603
You mean Chinese-style mosque .
@@peekaboopeekaboo1165 they have introduced Chinese Islam in China not Arabic one. That's why this style of mosque which I understood is good. Well done China.
We are proud, as a Chinese, of having so many ethnic minorities and their culture preserved so well.
You are proud, but your government oppression towards Muslims led to uprising in uguar community...so be careful what you say...
@@user-fs1yf7rx1nHow do you know? From western media? Now helping to promulgate the lie as righteous with full of false humility.
Prove first before naming other non-western culture people as evil as yourself.
I think it's important that you have the different groups showing how you have developed over time. Like how music and language and food is different in other parts of the world. Who wants the same woman all over the world. It's nice to see all the beautiful verity of women globally. Just beautiful! Different cultures, different foods, different women. Perfect!

Love listening to your Voice and Reporting.
thank you. you are brilliant, heartfelt, beautiful and personable in your reporting. From the West (Connecticut) and in New Engand this is a Formal "Shout Out" to you. Very cool and darn nice. I Enjoy how you speak English but can instantly speak all the local dialects. I think you are wonderful and one of the most talented reporters of Chinese Culture anywhere.
Loving this continuing journey through the ethnic minorities of China 🤩 Before subscribing to your channel, I thought I had a decent grasp of China's various cultures (at least for an American). I quickly learned how wrong I was! I'm consistently amazed by how many different languages (not to mention dialects!) you encounter on your travels. Thank you again for all you do, and I hope you're enjoying your time with Flo 😊
There are 54 to 56 minorities in China speaking 54 to 56 languages. Mandarin, math and science are taught in schools so they can enter any universities of their choice in China while retaining their mother tongue. Some of China's top celebrities are ethnic minorities. Check out top Xinjiang Uighur actress Dilraba Dilmurat.
Flo is cool
Autonomous region = ethnic minorities.

Your drone shots are so breath taking! I am seeing so much beauty of this plant. I am so thankful that I found Little Chinese Everywhere.

Hui Muslim, is basically Muslim Muslim. Hui is the term for Muslim in china
@@edwardsnowden8821 no. Hui is an ethnic minority name in China. Not the term Muslim.
@@jasonsoo6138 Hui is Muslim. so calling someone hui Muslim is not correct. Chinese that converted to Islam where generally called Hui aka Muslim.
I look forward to your videos every week. China is such a beautiful, interesting and diverse country. I thank you for showing us places that I may not have the chance to visit. ❤
Me too
The hospitality shown is truly heartwarming and I loved the kids reaction to Flo.
The colors of the landscape and the blue and brown rivers are stunning.
Fast fact, the first steel bridge built over the Yellow River was constructed in Lanzhou by a German company from Tianjin in 1909. It is still in use today as a pedestrian bridge.

I am one of your fans, i really like so much your channel, exploring muslim regions in china, and their unique mosques, lovely ❤
Those kids are really nice n friendly. I think its the safety of China that made them so open n friendly. Plus so eager to know more about the foreign country. Just beautiful. I had similar experiences in Turkey many2 yrs ago.
Such an eye-opening landscape, especially the terraced farming on the Loess Plateau, to me is the most spectacular agricultural civilization! Very touched. Thank you!
Shout out and Salamon alaikom to our Brothers and Sisters of Donxiang Chinese Muslim Community for their hospitable manner to Yan & Flo!
OMG, Yan, another awesome video. Your drone videos are getting better all the time. I’m of the impression that China is devoid of any signs of religious practices by the people since becoming fully communist in 1949. Ive shared your video and especially this one to many of my muslim friends.
I think that’s the best way to eat ribs whether its lamb, pork or beef - with your fingers😋👍🏼😄
I am Muslim. Happy to see your video about Chinese muslim.
I'm so happy to see your videos every Saturday as scheduled. It is a small regret not to go to Dunhuang Grottoes. Although the Dongxiang and Hui people both believe in Sunni Islam, they are different ethnic groups, and their living habits and traditional costumes are completely different from those of the Hui people. In addition, gas wall-mounted boilers are used to provide hot water for floor heating in winter, not for cooking. Most of China's gas wall-hung boilers are German brands but are produced in China.
China is such a beautiful, interesting and diverse country. Glad to see a Mosque here
It's amazing how diverse and beautiful China is. Everywhere you go they look different from the people, the food to the landscape they are all unique🤩🤩🤩One day I will go there for sure.

Congratulations on the loss of weight Flo!! The contrasts with the rivers was quite something to see. The land is so varied in what you have shared with us Yan. I think you could think what your ideal climate would be, and, you will find it in China. So if you like it cold, there is a place, if you like it hot, there is a place. And lots of areas inbetween! Very unique. Thank you again to you both for a wonderful video!!
I like it when you show muslims in china, it clears alot of misconceptions.
In Wuhan I met the boss of a 兰州拉面管 who was actually from Qinghai, but he told me about how beautiful it was there. Thanks for sharing, I can really see what that area is like from your video --wonderful

I really appreciate how you put an effort to show Muslim communities in your vlog eventhough you're not a muslim. There are only few Chinese muslim vloggers i know so i could hardly see contents about such communities. I can't help but be amazed everytime you visit a place and find Muslim communities there. I am Mongolian, and I have never seen a Mongolian video author. This is because, firstly, it is very troublesome for us to browse the foreign Internet, secondly, the Chinese Internet has enough traffic to support everyone, and thirdly, Chinese people, no matter what their nationality, are very poor in English.😂

As a Muslim myself, I was quite happy to see the Muslim minorities in China were living at their best and they are able to practice their belief freely and living harmoniously with people of other belief. I am so sure and confident to say that Muslim from other countries would definitely want to visit here as well... To see their brother and sister, to see the mosque and of course to try local delicacies where there is no issue at all to find halal food... (which is the main problem faced by Muslim travellers who are travelling to non Muslim countries).
Alhamdulillah!
sadly there is actually a lot of oppression of Muslims in China, please search "Xinjiang re-education camps"
What about the Uighurs?
@@pinklion26 I support the Independence of Uyghurstan. The separatist movement indeed have impacted Uyghur people badly and I m sorry about it... Same goes to Tibeten as well... Uyghur and Tibet deserve to be Independence...
