Appreciate this basic (CLEAR) step by step explanation. I'm terrified of electricity after being bitten a few times in the past. I had my wife stand a comfortable distance away, phone in hand, 9-1- dialed... just in case! It went great, no paramedics needed even after I tested it out... thank you!!

Thanks - I just moved with washer / dryer. Moving always includes a handful of small electrical needs that we're uncomfortable handling - especially 240v. I mean 120v is an eye opener, but 240v will flat out kill you dead! You saved me 2 weeks of piled up laundry and at least $100 off my electrician bill with your clear, precise instruction that matched others.

What he didn't show is that you want to run those wires through the little round hole in the metal just below where the terminals get screwed in. The cord should come with a bracket that you mount into that round hole and it keeps tension from being applied to those three terminals if you were to pull the cord really hard.

Keith, great explanation on the two cord types and where they wires terminate. I also know this was for demonstration purposes only but you SKIPPED A VERY IMPORTANT STEP that I think should be shown. For your viewers, the cord MUST go through that hole you see below the connection point FIRST. There is a clamp that goes on the cord inside of that hole (the clamp comes with the cord when you purchase it) to keep it from being pulled on and not stress the wire connections inside the dryer where the wires terminated on the screws. If your viewers were to put the cover on as you show in the video, the cover would eventually cut through the insulation of the wires and become a VERY DANGEROUS situation. Safety first!

Hey so that’s exactly what I was just actually commenting as a question so I’m putting mine together right now I have the Samsung it’s a front loader it’s almost kind of like a coppery gray color and I’m having a VERY hard time trying to get them all through well enough without feeling like I am doing something wrong or straining the other wires? Is that ok if they have some tug and pull? I am finishing up right now to put my last green wire threw the hole and then screw it into it’s place but I still have about a half of an inch of colored wires hanging out of the hole it’s very hard to put all of them threw?? It’s almost as if they’re to long!! PLEASE HELP ME!

Keith, I just wanted to thank you for helping me do this project! During this quarantine I have debated doing this because I didn't want to 1) blow up the house and have to call 911 and/or 2) electrocute myself while just trying to do laundry for my son and then having to call 911! I have been hang drying EVERYTHING for the past 3 months and it has been TERRIBLE!
Your video was informative enough to give me full confidence in doing this project... all the way down to the type of grounding screws you should use. Few things I appreciated:
    1) The size and type of screw DOES matter. I couldn't understand why mine were not tightening and if you google it, google world tells you it does not matter - just tighten it. But that is not true! My particular dryer was initially not working. I received it for free after placing a want ad for a washer & dryer. Nervous about fixing it since it was an electrical issue, I almost did not attempt to fix it. After placing the quarter inch thread screw in, it worked again. You are a miracle worker!
    2) Which side am I supposed to put down flat? I said to myself, "There must be a certain way to place the wires because otherwise both ends would be the same.. and they aren't. One end is fat, and the other is flat!" Then, how tight do you tighten them?! You answered immediately without thought.
3)I knew the middle was neutral but what was that random green and yellow wire (that was not connected when I received the dryer). All diagrams on the internet state a green and a white wire. Even the manual for this dryer is incorrect! It is a green and yellow wire - and if you have a 3 prong flat cord they are all the same color. I will not even repeat what the 100 other videos stated to do with the wires. I am so thankful the universe directed me to your video.
Long story short, THANK YOU for keeping us safe while keeping us busy by being so informative and hands-on. Who would have known when you were recording this a year ago that you would be SO BENEFICIAL to the world in such a short time. I can't believe there are only 29 comments below. I am astounded that you have something like 38,000 views, with so many positive thumbs, zero thumbs down, and only a couple THANK YOU's! If I could give you all of those subscriptions and likes to give you payment for this video, I would. I know it's not much, but, here are 38,0000 thank-you-so-much-for helping me comments, in one, to let you know how appreciated you are.. one for each person who forgot to let you know how thankful they were for your video.
Keep spreading your wealth of knowledge! You have kept many people all around the world safe through your videos. I hope you are blessed with happiness and good health!
    Thank you!!! √38000= 194.93588689618

My Whirlpool Cabrio has 3 nuts held even with the screw hole by a small tab. The screws actually screw into that not. Odd setup but definitely made that way. Thanks!! I was confused about having to ground the neutral wire a different way. Probably a 3 prong machine to a 4 prong setup. New sub. I have an original 3 prong setup so I guess I'm good to go.
