All I can think is I hope voice-mail Tom is okay. Hopefully Miyamoto-san will be there for him.
Legend.
I am hoping for a fired up voicemail soon. Next to the chameleon, this is the most entertainment I have had out of a single segment of the podcast.
I won't spoil this week's voicemail segment (I've listenedto the full audio podcast already), but Miyamoto was definitely there for him.
When this Amico fails, i can't wait to see Tommy's statement on it.
Safe to assume he won't take the blame.
When the Amico does fail it will be blamed on Covid, supply line issues, and of course the haters, but yes Tommy himself will never be blamed nor take the blame for this.
@heisensaul5538 we may never even hear from him again. Dude dug his own grave deeper and deeper and then just disappeared.

Many of us called Tommy out on the stuff he said about Ian on Atari Age. It was in extremely poor taste.
Thanks for your service soldier!
Tommy is definitely the x-factor that keeps the publicity stunt going. I feel bad for the actual Intellivision fans, this could’ve turned out decent without a personality like Tommy’s.
As someone who grew up on Intellivision as a kid, I am offended that Tommy and his nonsense are associated with the name Intelivision at this point
Don’t forget TT is an Intellivision kid too, it’s the reason he got into a games career. It’s actually sad, because he probably had genuine intent to make Intellivision a brand to inspire new generations. But rarely have I seen someone actually live his dream job, his lifelong career goal, and drive it so far into the ground.
Last summer when they postponed the launch again, I started researching what was going on. I ran across Tommy making fun of you guys and that led me to start investigating things more. I instantly cancelled the founder in hopes to recoup my down payment. The complete lack of professionalism of Tommy instantly made me realize this console is being fathered by a man-child and that is never a good thing for a company. I have seen it too many times.
Oh man, Tommy is going to have an absolute field day with the CUPodcast voice mail after this week...
Yeah he's gonna start by getting bitched at by his office workers then get angry because of it and blow up on the cu crew and then blame tourettes.

'bad hombres' is a phrase infamously uttered by Donald Trump in reference to immigrants
Mike Kennedy must've been watching all this happen and asking himself what he had to do to get the amount of leeway and undeserved goodwill the Amico got from Atari Age. Make some decent game music 30 years ago? That's all it takes for a bunch of "gaming was better in the 80's" nerds to lose all critical faculties? Having to retreat to a private Facebook group has got to be a blow to Tommy's ego. He was already operating on the fringe with his cosying up to small CZcams channels and sticking to a niche forum's fanwank thread in order to feel secure. Now he's had to retreat even further in order to keep telling himself that a game called Cornhole being one of your flagship launch games is actually a great idea...such a fall from grace for the great Tommy "I met Myamoto once" Tallarico.
Being related to Steven Tyler gives you an instant pass.
I have only heard of the intellevision amico from this show. Not considering all the things said negative about it on this show but based off of the way it looks and the games. This thing looks like some garbage gift you get at CVS for a preschool aged child.
Too little, too late for me. Atari Age doesn't get head pats for finally doing what should have been done two years ago.
This ship is sinking very slowly because it is propped up by one person's hot air.

lol i got banned from atari age for saying the only fun that people will get out of the Amico is us talking about the Amico especially from Pat and Ian. I guess thats toxic but i didnt think that was that bad hahaha there was way worse comments in there than that but i get it i dont care to much.
Something I wonder about is if the increasingly nonstop dubious news about the Amico in the last six months has made people at AtariAge and even the Amico CZcamsrs increasingly unable to rationalize Tommy's behavior and decisions. Once upon a time there was probably a way for some to write off the personal attacks, controller issues, initial production problems and so as the growing pains of a new console and/or a passionate response against the haters.
But between a third delay, the utter nothing that is the system's physical media, and now the Battle Tanks controversy all happening one after the other, I can't help but wonder if even its most ardent defenders can't help but see both how deep its problems go and how habitually Tommy has broken his promises about it. The Amico's rot is so beyond controller lag & bad dice physics that the cognitive dissonance now required to deny it is becoming too much for people.
Pat and Ian's videos are are great, but the Amico ones...perfection.
I feel my life will be a little emptier if this disaster ever actually ships to customers. It will all fizzle out in a week like the whole VCS debacle.
I still don't get the point of the VCS. It's a PC that you can't upgrade and a pain in the ass to use a keyboard.
Emptier but somehow fuller
@Yurt Dweller that's cool but one I'm sure someone with a fast PC can do the same. Second that's really not a selling point for gamers. 3rd can't the new Xbox in sandbox mode do the same?
@@JohnSmith-yd5wq just quickly looked up specs, tbh as a pc gamer that is one hell of a deal (on sale for $250, hardware equivalent to ps5 or Xbox) for all in one system, especially younger or something and mainly want gaming pc.

Tommy Tallarico can't lose? I guess he changed his name from Parker Lewis.
@KaneMagus Now I want the "Tommy" call next week to include the phrase, "Synchronize Swatches!!!"
Guys, what a fail - When objectively covering the Amico, you're supposed to have Tommy "randomly" pop in to the conversation to talk vaguely about the same features over and over again. Oh and dont forget to have him comment on the video with a mom on facebook-esque comment.
He really does give off the 'mom on facebook' vibe.
@@g10118 Mom on Facebook who will absolutely complain that you gave him a macchiato swirl instead of a macchiato swirl with a caramel twist.
Even before Amico and his time on AtariAge, Tommy had forum moderators do his bidding :X
It's about time. Though I think Albert should have acted sooner, at least he was professional about it when he did and owned his mistakes. That's more than can be said for Tommy.
Also, they sent out an email about how it's their 42nd birthday. Just let that sink in...
Was Albert professional and owning his mistakes? He seemed perfectly willing to enable and promote the Tommy hype train through everything right up until Tommy committed the ultimate sin of trying to move that hype train to a different site.
The thing is Albert was still banning people left and right just a couple days before he finally wised up to Tommy. He literally wrote a post at the time saying "People keep saying Tommy lies and I've asked them for proof and they never come up with it" when people complained of the clear bias in Tommy's favor. Excuse me? There's no proof of Tommy lying about the Amico? Start three years ago with "I'll never crowdfund" or "I'll never take people's money until they can play the real thing" and "No ports!" and work all the way up to Tommy gaslighting about what gaming journalists wrote about the Amico. Tommy claimed "See! This article verifies there's no lag!" when the article stated the exact opposite (Tommy thinks he's the only one who can use Google translate). Heck, you could prove Tommy is a liar just using Tommy's own posts on AtariAge. There's was a six hour period where Tommy posted "The reviewer said there was no lag". After people read the article for themselves and quoted it back to Tommy where it says "there's lag on this controller", Tommy followed later by "The controller the reviewer used had lag because they were using an old firmware and it's since been fixed." Both those of Tommy's posts can't be true (they could both be false). Albert is far from earning back all the respect he lost- if he can ever earn it back at all. At least he's not pulling a Gamester81 and pretending to be confused why he lost all his credibility and doesn't get why everyone is mad at him. "What? Just because I hosted an hour long infomercial with Mike Kennedy where I called all the skeptics a bunch of drunken haters, everyone is mad at me? I'M a victim here, Guys!"
@@BainesMkIIaccording to the various people who work with Albert, he'd been wanting to get rid of it for some time but two of his close friends who helped moderate were very much on the Amico train and he didn't want to cause issues with people who'd been his friends for decades. He finally lost his patience. Albert gets a bit of a pass, I think he was just trying to keep everyone happy as he could by being hands off.
He's over 50 and his name is still Tommy

@Pat A couple of things to add to the discussion. One the amico is listed as a Plug 'n' Play in Europe. Next tommy better be worried not only with the batteries but also the wifi. RE: teenage engineering
It should be pointed out that TE has had issues in the past. They released a fancy pocket synth workstation (OP-1) and because people liked it, they seemed to think they were the Apple of music production devices. They are their biggest fan.
A couple years ago TE said they were doing modular synths (the 400 and the 170) but instead of making "eurorack" modules (a widely used pre-existing format) they thought they had to reinvent the wheel and create their own format. The modules didn't have power protections on the jacks so if someone stuck a cable from a Input jack into another Input jack they could cause electrical harm to their modules. Eurorack makers, on the other hand, always add protections on jacks. Despite looking like cheap plastic gear, TE modules were just as expensive as normal eurorack modules thus .. what was the point? Despite saying they would have more modules in the future, they haven't announced anything since. Likely because no smart person would buy a niche format that could accidentally burn out.
Oh, and they changed the screen on their OP-1 and charged a few hundred more for it. They didn't change anything else. After announcing this, stores immediatly changed the price on existing stock from its original 800 to 1300 price overnight.
So, in other words, if they are having issues manufacturing something... I wouldn't be surprised.
They also just did a computer case which was like 4 pieces of painted stamped sheet metal and some electronics from ali express. You needed to bend the metal into shape yourself, thread the screws yourself and assemble it. Oh, it can't even fit a proper graphics card in it despite not even being that small for an ITX case. All for the low low price of around $200 lol.
Teenage engineering smelled it's own farts a long time ago. Now anything they sell is jacked up because they are a "name".
The OP-1and OP-Z both have long-term issues, too. Case warping, dials/knobs falling off and other more 'normal' wear and tear issues with the pots and switches themselves.
There's a bunch of weird design decisions...Not fully baked designs or software ecosystems and it looks like they are just going to jump from one thing to the next.
someday this will make one hell of a movie...
Sycophants!
Purely based on your commentary of Tommy I've come to the conclusion that he would have been the kid at school who stole some younger, innocent kid's lunch money to use to buy friends because no one really wanted to be around him.
I want spoof Tommy to become part of this show.
Bad Hombres is a shitty Former Guy reference.
Pat I dont know if you remember me but we spoke early on in the Amico saga when Tommy was running rampant on atari age throwing out the accusations of Nintendo having lewd content.
Anyways, I just wanted to say thanks for all your efforts!
AtariAge Amico thread reminds me of the HD-DVD group that infiltrated a lot AV boards during the HD-DVD Blu-ray battle. Amir from Microsoft whose title was HD DVD evangelist spouted so much BS about how HD DVD was superior over Blu-ray. AVSForum seemed to become a bought off forum that anyone that bought a Blu-ray player or PS3 was treated like an adversary when they tried to explain the advantages of Blu-ray.
Amir was a jackass. ‘Blu-Ray’ 50GB discs weren’t needed but a 30GB disc from ‘HD-DVD’ was just riiiight. Eventually they started spreading a rumor that HD-DVD had a 51GB disc coming. So HD-DVD was superior. Needless to say the 51GB disc from HD-DVD never materialized.
Given the way data structures work, why would anyone sane pick "51" instead of 64 or 60? Poe's Law?
@@XanthinZarda It's just how the disc layout pit structure worked out. It's like how CD-ROMs started out as 640MB (and it is just a coincidence that's 64x10, nothing to do with data structures) but later discs were 700MB. Manufacturers found they could pack the data in tighter (as they dialed in their manufacturing) without breaking compatibility with existing hardware. HD-DVD started out with 15GB per layer, but when they tested triple layer discs (HD-DVD was very flexible with layers so you could have a DVD layer that was readable with an older DVD drive, plus an HD-DVD layer that only worked on HD players) they found they were too conservative in their original data packing and could squeeze 17GB onto a layer without any hardware issues. 3x17 = 51GB.
@@MrTBoneSF and that disc never saw the light of day beyond a prototype. The supposed ‘completed’ HD DVD spec was just as fluid as Blu-ray at the time.
Blu-ray had a similar thing with underestimating their layer capacity as well. When 3D Blu-ray was released their discs were near 33GB per layer they just never made a big deal about it since their competition was gone by that time. It’s why the 4K/UHD Blu-rays are 66GB dual layer discs and (drum roll) 100GB triple layer discs.
@@craigwhitcher9629 You're talking about BDXL discs which don't work in a standard blu-ray drive (like in the PS3). Do you have a citation for a standard (non BDXL) blu-ray disc that's larger than 50GB? If a standard blu-ray drive could read BDXL discs, there would be a lot of PS4 owners who would be very pissed they could never play UHD discs on their 4K game console.
@@MrTBoneSF the 3DBD profile updated the capacity per layer. So it was there but they did not support anything beyond dual layer. Not sure if any studios released 33/66 discs even though it was supported in that BD Profile. It might have only been an option for a 3D title due to possible compatibility issues.
UHD BD requires BDXL I believe due to the triple layer discs. Consumer BD drives for manufactured media were limited to only having to read up to 2 layers. If PS4 only has a standard BD drive then it completely makes sense why it can’t support the new format. I think some consumers are being a little obtuse expecting an existing console to be able to play a new format that was introduced well after the consoles introduction. The PS4 Pro maybe should have included a compatible drive but I also think Sony didn’t want to compete with players from their CE line-up.
I think this is why HD DVD never introduced its triple layer disc in that the players they had already released would not have been compatible with the early drives. They were going from the formats launch how the spec was ‘complete’ so you didn’t need to worry about changes to the format.
I can't wait to see Tommy's heroic response to these terrible lies that he'll bravely post in his private facebook group and then retroactively edit and insist that it is not an official statement by his company and was taken out of context when it invariably leaks.
Sure, make a compulsive liar your CEO, see what happens.
For fun, ResetEra renamed their discussion thread to Amico Fun Conversations as to bogart the web traffic that would have been going to that search. I like that kind of moxie.
The new thought for the Amico is that it's a fan fiction console. Not a fictional console like the Pico-8, but someone's idea of a one handed console fantasy.
I do like how Tommy tries to pretend to be a fence sitter, and then he pulls phrases right out of the phrasebook of _he who shall not be named._
Someone went ahead and removed the awards from TT's Wikipedia page, wonder how his ego will feel about that?
I was sceptical of Albert, but the guy has nothing to gain by covering Tommy's butt at this point, especially since Tommy did nothing but flamebroil AtariAge's reputation into the gutter.
It is going to be such a red letter day when someone like DigitalFoundry or a teardown channel gets their hands on it (if it exists) and points out the use of lowest bidder parts.
Unreal how Tommy tries to spin the narrative even when he was wrong. "My thread got millions of views!!"......yeah, Pat's CZcams has 137,579,815 views, so eat that! This is the type of guy who would never admit that he is the problem, the guy who will never admit that all the attacks on Pat/Ian never came from his own words and his cult members are gonna take his fake excuses like him and Albert came to some Dayton Peace Accords for AtariAge. Never happened. Pat literally presents the real reason, 100% facts from the man himself Albert, yet I can guarantee the losers are still gonna hate on this podcast, continue to blame the Amico's failures on them and plug their ears to facts and criticism. A part of me hopes Amico is successful just so Pat/Ian can sue for libel down the line. As Ian said, no one is invincible.

Starting off fine, quickly running into problems and difficulty, but brushing it under the carpet and trying to convince the backers that everything is fine, it will ship on time, it will ship a little later, it will ship a year late, it might ship to some people...
Still think the Vega+ stuff is far worse. Plus the whole thing about sex bots cracked me up.

I only follow the Amico for the drama. We all know how this will end... Either the console comes out to underwhelming sales or not at all.
Tommy seems like the type of person to blame "haters" and everyone else before realizing that he was providing a solution to a problem that doesn't exist.
Atari Age taking too long to deal with an issue and even then only just washing their hands of it? As someone who got burned (luckily only for $50 and not the full final purchase price of $299) by The Golden Ax's mythical 20th Anniversary (later 25th, and I think even 30th before I stopped getting updates) Atari 7800, I can't even pretend to be surprised. While the Ax situation was fueled by personal difficulties, the powers that be at Atari Age refused to even allow anyone to question the situation much as was the case with the Amico as it dragged on for years with increasingly sporadic updates.

Reddit in general doesn’t take too well to corporate takeovers. I think it’s also against its rules to do paid moderator work. Its “Intellivision ambassador” mod is or was an employee at some point
Ahhhh yesssss, let me settle in for some more Intellivision nonsense 👌
Amico is entertaining. . . To make fun of
He's like Mussolini, but not Steve McQueen,
Tommy T is nothing but a broken dreeeeam.
Ohhhh, the cult of salty Tommy T.
Nice. Fishbone
Please add "He can't lose" to the soundboard.
The whole thing is a overhyped scam anybody that can't see this is a fool it's going to end up being a low power android box that you could buy from wish for 40 dollars
Hell I got one for $20, and likely does more than this too.
They will release a Kickstarter again for Amico expansion pass to get it sometime in 2022
What author went after Pat and Ian? I must be slightly out of the loop.
author brett "the author" weiss, known for being an author of books authored by him
IIRC it was very mealy-mouthed in the normal crypt-keeper style of 'going after'. Implying they are biased/not properly informed or some sh*t (maybe entirely wrong with my recollection though).

Ouya! It's the Comico Intelli-Vcs!
I’m praying for the Amico Chameleon
I can't unsee Tommy Tallarico and Julie Uhrman actually being twins.
Her console actually released though. It almost immediately ate shit and died, but it DID get released.
I compared them based on looks, not console release.
Because: _of course_ 🤣
