I used to chat with Tommy all the time on Facebook and it was always positive, I owned a 1981 Ferrari 308 gtb at the time and we would talk about our cars, but the one time last year when I asked him about if the Amico is still on a path to be released by the 2020 holiday season he instantly went from a calm cool gentleman to a rude and touchy person with a jumpy attitude. After I asked him about the Amico he’s never once answered a comment from me again on Facebook.

Seriously, when Tommy acquired the rights to Intellivision, all he needed to do was cash in on the mini console craze and release an Intellivision Mini - a little replica Intellivision with as many of the games on there that he could get the license to. Something along the lines of the Intellivision Flashback that was released a number of years ago, except better quality with HD capability. That honestly should not have been too expensive or difficult. Nobody asked for this new "family friendly" console, and nobody's going to want it after all this.

I am dev in the game business for over 20 years. I didnt deal directly with Tommy, but years ago (mid-90s) I did run into him a few times as he came by the studio. I never saw him being rude to anyone, although we were a client so he had to be pro. Anyhow, whenever he did visit it was always interesting to watch, as he was always a "one man show" sort of experience. He was always on this never-ending quest to be entertaining, and I remember clearly having conversations with others laughing about about why he felt the need to do all this when he was just the sound guy. He didnt do anything offensive or mean, but he seemed to have no self awareness that he was just lame and dorky. He really thought he was big time, and it was funny to watch. For instance, at the time he drove a KIT Car that looked like either a Ferrari or a Lamborgini (not a car guy). But you could tell it was put together sort of .. oddly and just didnt look right. Anyhow, he would always make a point that he drove his fancy car to the studio to see if anyone wanted to go see it... but when we asked about it being a kit car he would squirm and quickly change the subject. Also, he would often wear 2 watches... waiting for someone to ask him about it. And if you were one of the lucky ones to ask that question, he would all of a sudden flash into a pose and say "Because I've got too much time on my hands". Once again, now this is no big deal, but back then he was just a sound guy. Anyhow, poor guy has always had a burning desire to be known and loved. I feel sad that it seems to be going bad for him with this Amico thing, but hearing stories about him treating others like crap is unfortunate. He always saw himself as a Rockstar, regardless of what the world thought of him and I guess a part of me admires that.
All that aside, I wish him no ill will.. but its hard to be on his side when I see his actions regarding the Amico. Tommy, if you are out there listening.. just be quiet. Quit talking, and let everything calm down. Work on making the Amico great, but for the love of all thats holy.. Stop talking. And I wish you luck!

He clearly is a narcissist, if not an outright sociopath.
No, I'm not making fun of him for having mental illness. Being a sociopath is not a mental illness. It's a complete and total inability to consider anyone else's feelings, or to act in a way that would benefit anyone else except themselves.
Sociopathic behavior is not a mental illness, it is a behavioral disorder that the sociopath PREFERS to adopt, because they feel that they are the only person in any situation that matters.
If Mr. T had a mental illness, then there would be a chance that medicine or therapy could help him.

This is never mentioned, but I would really like somebody to dig into the "composer" Tommy Tallarico. Albeit it saying "video game music composer" in his Wikipedia article, the guy has basically no training (which is common for the very early 90s, but very uncommon from around the late 90s onwards when video game music became more and more professional), and basically 90% of the list of his ""Video game soundtracks"" state him as having only converted some previous soundtrack, sharing the work with some actually accomplished video game composer, the soundtrack in the game being credited to somebody completely else for whatever reason, or only having worked on the sound effects, or just being given "Special Thanks". If you ignore all those titles, the only well-known games he worked on were maybe Earthworm Jim and MDK, and even there I have my doubts.

I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

The mods on Atari Age are really embarrassing themselves. They let Tommy's supporters trash the Kotaku article by saying "It's a hit piece" and "It's fake news" (without ever saying what's "fake" about it) and then one of Tommy's acolytes threw in some reverse racism grenades saying that Tommy was the "real" victim of sexism and racism and was being persecuted for being a white man. After throwing that grenade, the mods then pretended "well since we can't have a non-political discussion I'll have to lock the thread". The mod didn't delete the intentionally inflammatory comments from the Tommy white knights and let them stand. Then someone tried to open a "non-politics" version of the thread and the same bad faith actors did the same schtick again. Instead of following their own rules and deleting the posts (or banning the posters like the mods claim is their policy for repeatedly violating the rules- like they do with any Tommy critic), the mods locked the thread and again let the Tommy white knights' posts stand. I wonder if Albert even reads Atari Age anymore or he just believes what the Tommy-modders tell him. Does Albert wonder why user donations are drying up and why people (like myself) who used to regularly buy AtariAge homebrews to help support the site stopped buying? I'm sure the mods who live in Tommy's pocket just tell him "It's got to be the pandemic" since that's their idol's stock excuse.

The "Fun Amico Discussions" (formerly "Q&A with Tommy" formerly "Tommy will answer your Amico Questions") thread is supposed to be "only positive stuff". But what they REALLY mean is "only positive statements about Tommy and Amico".
