- How to Make an Urn. I had a subscriber reach out and ask if I could make an urn for his late wife. So in this video I take you how to make a simple box and then make it “fancier”. I hope you never have to make an urn for a loved one, and only fancy boxes!

I was talking with my wife about making a final resting place for loved ones last night. You post this today. Coincidence? I think not. Thanks for the inspiration and motivation to continue the project!
It is a cool, personal project to be a part of.
Cheers
My father in law passed away last night. Had a full heart transplant and had a deadly stroke in the surgery and never woke up. I think I will make this for my mother in law. Thank you
Sorry for your loss, Mark.
Condolences
Cheers
@@BuildDadBuild thank you

Hey Nick nice urn I like what you did with the accent pieces on the side and on the top.... I just finished my daughter's urn she passed due to a short illness, it was, like you said somber but very satisfying. Love your channel, in the way you speak out about your personal issues keep it up bud
Sending you my deepest condolences for the loss of your loved one

@@BuildDadBuild cheers brother
Thank you for this..its so beautiful & you made me so happy..I don't know how I can repay you
You are so welcome
A great job. I have run into the same issues with making 45 deg cuts and not being square. That is even after upgrading my mitre saw and truing it. It really is best to cut the pieces a bit long and use your table saw sled to get an accurate 45 - after truing the sled and the blade.
Excellent recovery Nick. I have done the same.
I have found that using a bit of 3M and a small paint brush that I can 'pull' the Lichtenburg arc around in a design, half moon, quarter moon, heart...
It is really neat pulling the burn in that manner.
Again, great job.
Thanks Joe!
And f*ck mitres! LOL
Cheers
@@BuildDadBuild Damn dude - Don't you know All Mitres Matter?
Love this and need to make one for my brother who has been sitting in the cardboard box the funeral home supplied since he was murdered in January 2022, where would I find the dimensions you used to cut with please?
Honestly if I didn’t say them in the video I don’t recall.
Awesome Job Brother! Very Well Done.
I Bet That Was An Honor For Sure! 🤝
RIP ANN! Prayers To The Husband And Family! ❤️🙏🏻
Thanks James!
Cheers
*Very nice Nick!* I did one last year for a friend also. And now, unfortunately, I have to do another one for a family member 😒 I'm doing this one with a photo engraving, a prayer and an inlaid piece of Mahogany with her name & dates in an Oak frame. I'm going to use a padded silk interior.
Getting fancy on me! LOL I was going to do a photo engraving on this one, but I couldn't get it to etch right with the grain of the red oak. Poor choice of wood on my part.
@@BuildDadBuild The photo is going to be on clear basswood Nick. I'm also inlaying that 2mm and filling the top with clear acrylic.
Dam bro that turned out great...Quick question where can i get one of them tools that you have that makes the nice ass burn lines..Thanks Nick
I picked it up here.
www.conestogaworks.com/product/the-lichtenberg-figure-wood-burner-ii/
It's under powered, but works on small projects.
Cheers
