    Thanks Cleveland, great content as always.
    Not using the stems in Serato that much at this point anyway (have acapella in/out edits of most of the songs I play). But in time I'm sure it will be a useful tool in my belt. And then this will be fire I'm sure of it!
    But I'm really excited for the daylight mode, life saver on outdoor gigs.

    It's great that we are at the dawn of stems of most DJ software. We will look at these days the way we looked at when we used SL1 boxes with Serato. Step by step process over time.

    We have to understand that there is a major hardware limitation when it comes to All-In-One equipment. Steam processing is extensive, especially when "on the fly". Requires CPU. The Prime 4's CPU is ARM and limited for use with Steam, so perhaps with a future hardware update it could be possible. In Serato and VDJ, processing is done directly on the computer, which for the most part has much more efficient hardware. Furthermore, the algorithm used by Serato and VDJ are very different from that used by Engine. I believe that only with new hardware will it be possible to have truly efficient Steam on standalone equipment. Or maybe if developers implement steams in EDJ Desktop and we do a pre-analysis and only then export to the device, in a more ready way. With the separate tracks, any device embedded with EDJ will be able to run steams without much effort, but of course, it won't be "on the fly".

  • @wikkidselekta
    @wikkidselekta Před rokem

    The potential quality of the real-time sound separation will be dependent on the CPU. It needs A LOT of processing power.
    Now how old is the CPU in the Prime 4 & 4+ (same internals [Phil Morse verified it with DenonDJ])? Don't hold your breath, you need to attach an above average spec PC to get close to VDJ's 2nd stems version, or even Serato's first.

  • @TheDJLab
    @TheDJLab Před rokem +4

    Sounds pretty bad, but so did everyone else during beta. I only wish the team would fix up the current little issues before trying to take on something new like this. The prime for was still the best controller ever made for Virtual DJ and even the makers of virtualdj agree so I don't know why they even wanted to bother trying to pull off mediocre stems on a standalone.

      Its not even in Beta yet, its in Alpha, if that is such a thing? Stems wasnt supposed to be announced for a month or 2 when the beta was going to be released. I just have to give Denon full respect, they just keep pushing foward, PIONEERING dj tech in ways that put Pioneer to shame. It might not always be perfect but the fact they are trying to give djs what they want on standalone gear is commendable! Even having a sampler now is ground breaking which im sure will get better with updates. Cudos Denon DJ, keep doing what ya do!

    • @danielfontanes7339
      @danielfontanes7339 Před rokem

      I bought the FLX10 and will be selling it for Prime 4+. The build quality is my biggest reason. Prime 4 (I originally had) was beefier and solid as the FLX10 Is more plastic. I still like serato best and will use this as a serato controller but this has built in redundancy if laptop goes missing or stops working….load up internal HDD and you have a back up

    Denon or in music just need to uncage Engine desktop from Engine OS, because Engine OS is holding back the capabilities of Engine Desktop. You get a sampler and everyone gets overly excited for something that been in other DJ software for many years. Frequency FX had been in Deckadance since v1.5 over 7 years. To top it off Deckadance DJ is the property of in music thru Stanton DJ. They should spend more time and resources in integrating Deckadance DJ codes into Engine Desktop to build a robust DJ software. Engine Desktop with stems would be much better than Engine OS with stems.

    1º... Denon DJ Prime 4+, a fecha de este vídeo, no tiene Stems. Solo hay una beta super privada que ni siquiera activa los Stems en todos los Decks. Solo los activa en el Deck 1 (podéis comprobrar en este vídeo y en todos los que veáis, que solo está activo en el Deck 1).
    2º... Denon DJ Prime 4+ no tiene botones dedicados para los Stems. Puede que en un futuro habiliten el Pad Mode 5 para poder manejar los Stems con los Pad Avanzados.
    3º... Denon DJ Prime 4+ no tiene la potencia necesaria para mover los Stems a nivel Hardware. Solo puede moverlos por software. Lo que es equiparable a la versión 1.0 de Virtual DJ.
    4º... Denon DJ Prime 4+ tiene el mismo hardware que la Prime 4. Esto quiere decir que tiene la potencia justa. Tan justa que es muy lenta analizando las pistas y provoca lageos cuando circula el espectro del audio.

    Bro, honestly, there’s no comparison between the 3 and out of the 3 VDJ PRO’s is STILL THE KING and STILL IMPROVING which honestly I believe wholeheartedly that the P4+ WILL SURPASS SERATO in regards to STEMS and other features……what I would love, which I believe will be impossible would be that we can live stream/broadcast LIVE directly from our P4/P4+ like it’s easy to do in VDJ PRO….. I’m not holding my breathe and once again DENON DJ DOES NOT LET US DOWN by pushing the envelope in digital dj technology……way ahead of the game and if it gets near or even better than VDJ PRO…..I would seriously cut off the laptop AND dj softwares altogether👍👍👍🔥🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️💯💯💯💯💯💯

    Probably early stages but don't see it practical to quick use unless its on a pad button to quickly engage, turning on from touch screen is to slow to small to engage. It appears they made the controller without the ideal of stems and trying to add it to software version. nothing dedicated or labled on controller., Denon is so far behind technology.
