It’s great that nature is your studio. When I show buddies your stuff it’s always funny how organic the vids feel. Not in an armory making perfect takes. Just out here making real content. ‘Ghost closed my door’
And occasional "boom" in the background
“Some people want to spend their lives building the empire of another man”. Damn. That’s a good one. So smooth!
Definitely saving up for one of these, looks like a really useful piece of kit
I drink fluoride, how'd you think my brain got smooth?
I've had ATAK on my phone for a couple years now and never bothered to set it up, since I don't have any buddies to relay info with... so, it's kind of pointless. 😕
Never underestimate the power of it just fukin works. Love it
Nice touch on the bgm. Cheers
You don't need anytbing until you need it.
This is….precisely the comparison I’ve been looking for. Meshtastic uses devices on the same frequencies, however they are SUPER low power. Around 0.1watt for most “cheapy” devices. Maybe you can speak more to that, or can find out how many watts beartooth puts out. Thanks
The hair is looking slick today.
Why not use meshtastic instead? Is it because of the ~900mhz frequency?
Overton which is better for you, patreon membership or youtube membership?
That's a tough question... Probably youtube membership.
@@OvertonWindex I really want to thank you, as a police officer I've used some of your advice on gear. We went from single point bungee slings to 2 point non-bungee slings and I took your advice and bought a SOE 2 point bungee sling. I could not be more happy with the result.
So bout that floride..
Who hosts the server? what happens if “they” turn the internet off? If the gov gets a court order do they then have access to their server? And data?
Honest questions, my ignorance makes me feel like this has lots of 3rd party trust required compared to HAM or DMR.
Is there a company registry of who has what serial number or who purchased what serial number and would they give that data to the government under pressure?
It doesn’t run on the internet… the server is hosted end to end.. local.
This is an off grid system, Beartooth.
Atac, if you wanted to, can run on an internet server.,your own or otherwise.
@@GWOTalchemthis line of thinking is where meshtastic would shine vs beartooth.
@@kelseystagner7239 definitely need to learn about meshtastic
@@OvertonWindex is the whole system down if your server is down? Keeping a server rack or even quality PC running 24/7 is a lot of power.
Or do the individual beartooth still work with other individual beartooths even if the server is down?
$3862 for 1 device, min of 2 to run.
uhhhh no bud. 750
How is this different than a cheap Meshtastic radio and atak. Seems crazy that they want $1500 for 2 radios.
I'm about to compare them
The biggest difference is Beartooth radios have more bandwidth than Meshtastic radios. This allows for PTT voice, photo sharing, and data package sharing. Oh and if it matters to you, they made in the USA. Nonetheless I am sure @OvertonWindex will cover this in his comparison video.
