The original Ronettes were replaced many times in the recording studio and even live. The Ronettes opened for the Beatles on tour in 1966 without Ronnie but with an unknown replacement... and no one was the wiser. Phil Spector often used session singers instead of the original Ronettes on the recordings. In fact, I read that Ronnie would often be in the studio recording while the Ronettes would be on tour with a replacement. And you know, the audience did not seem to mind or even care or even know the difference.

Ronnie Spector passed away yesterday, wed. 12 Jan 2022, that leaves Nedra Talley Ross as the only remaining Ronette... (she has been married to Scott Ross since 1967...!). The Ronette's... such wonderful timeless music... may you rest in peace Estelle & Ronnie.

I am so deeply crushed beyond words on this night of the day we lost Ronnie. Among the very 1st songs that caught my attention on the radio when I was little is "Be My Baby". No matter how many times you hear it, it sweeps you up in its Love, Drama, and Intensity. It's so honest, passionate, & filled with Love. And, of course, the "Oh~Oh~Ohs" are Everything. I Love You, Ronnie, and I Always Will. ❤️🤍❤️ Love, Jennifer ❤️🤍❤️
