What the actual Hell was wrong with me thinking this would be a simpler video? I knew that I'd wanna bring Deadpool AND Pinkie into this, but then I had to go and turn the segment into an isekai and bring Rainbow Dash into the mix too??? I simply had too much fun writing these characters. Needless to say, I won't be making a video this complicated for a looong while, so expect the season 4 review to actually be a lot more simple. Especially since I feel I owe a bone to the folks who are getting tired of the skits and just want to hear my thoughts. Thank you for your patience as always!

Another fantastic job, you never miss with these reviews. This season wasn't the best, but it had it's moments. Rachet and Clank vs. Jak and Daxter was definitely my favorite. I played both these trilogies to no end as a kid, the modeling for the fight is impressive, and it felt straight out of a Saturday morning cartoon.
The review of the finale threw a strong curveball witht the idea of transportation and the writing is rather tight and well paced without leaving the review out to dry

The Deadpool vs. Pinkie Pie segment was hilarious and kind of endearing... is it bad that I unironically have Pinkie Pie vs. Tigger as my second most wanted Death Battle matchup? (The first being Dave Strider vs. Sakuya Izayoi)
Winnie the Pooh representation in a versus match? Heck, yeah!

Mewtwo vs Shadow was definitely a roller coaster when it came to my opinion. At first I liked it because I predicted the outcome correctly, but then I grew a real man's brain and realized that the fight was garb. As for the urban legend, I have no idea how it came to be in the first place. Don told me that there might have been a rant he made, but even then he said it wasn't reflective of what actually happened. IG the only way I could've seen it get as popular as it did was because Biff Weed brought it up one time and everybody decided to go along with it. Don't get me wrong, Biff's not a bad dude for that, I'm not fully blaming him (especially since I know he's in direct contact with multiple people on the Death Battle team, so he has more credibility than most), but at the same time it's still weird that an entire fact that was on the wiki for so many years basically came up because some dude said it without bringing up a source. It's like with so many other rumors like Gen made Wiz pansexual following his crush on Zuko, Ruby vs Ragna had corporate meddling, etc. with nobody ever citing a source for those claims (though tbf nobody's exactly debunked those, either).
Anyways, thanks for showing the JoJo ASB R footage. That game is infinitely better than sex fr. :)))
On the topic of the Ruby vs Ragna DBX, I still don't know where the supposed animator statement of them supposedly wanting to make Ragna win the fight in a closer bout came from.
Like, as far as I know, it's not sourced anywhere at all and likely spread because of Nem discussing it on his channel way back when.
Well, the rumor was already a thing long before Biff mentioned it. I clearly remember first hearing about it from TV Tropes around the season 5 or 6 days. That just further proves you should take whatever you hear from the internet with a grain of salt unless you know for a fact that you have official confirmation.
@@robmacher3253 TV Tropes has made a LOT of claims for Death Battle's production and chose not to cite any of them for some reason. Like they said that Captain Falcon was planned to fight All Might, but Warner contacted them directly and told them to have Falcon fight a Mortal Kombat character. Of course, this was never cited.
In defense of Scout swinging the bat while Bonk enhanced, You can Taunt while under the effects of bonk, he was attempting the grand slam taunt kill, (even thought he doesn't have the atomizer or sandman)
36:51 I will say that this is still in character with Sweet Tooth, mainly because it's not just murder that matters to him, it's the joy of seeing his victim's lights go out as he kills them. Death and Chaos are all that embody who he is, especially when he is the cause of someone's death. Sweet Tooth wants to see his victim's lights go out before his own eyes. He wants to watch them suffer and die while looking at his mask. So this is still in character with Sweet Tooth. His only character flaw is his tunnel vision; if he encounters someone who is more crafty and a challenge, someone like the Joker, he can be defeated. So this scene is on point.
I will reiterate that Sweet Tooth isn't brainless, and he can be crafty as well with his executions. However when he tunnel visions on the kill he wants, that's all he focuses on and nothing else, which is precisely what the Joker took advantage of.
This is your best video, you've peaked. Especially with Pinkie Pie and DeadPool reviewing their episode, you've peak at comedy my friend. Every other video after this will never top this.

I feel so weird being seemingly the only one who enjoys Bowser vs. Ganon... I just see that tennis part of the fight and start clapping and laughing idiotically. Despite the criticisms, I personally never saw it as a bad episode, and I still don't. I just have a lot of fun with it.

I just finished the doomsday vs hulk part of this video and honestly i would like to see a run back on both fighters with there brand new martial
As for on the debate side i might have to give it to hulk the win ........... By a Margin of 51 to 49 for the fight because yes hulk might have the highest scaling he had ever had including new feats but that Adaptation is just so Broken i do wonder how a fight with these two would truly go and yes i want to see replays to this opinion of my to see what other people are thinking for this fight and the outcome

You wanna know what pisses me off the most in this season? Scout vs Tracer. You wanna know why? It's cuz it gets SO much wrong during the fight. In fact, I will make a list for everything wrong with the fight animation:
1. Scout doesn't get to run around that much.
2. Tracer uses her Blink too often
3. Bonk basically gives Scout Ultra Instinct, not Ultra Ego.
4. Scout can't even attack during Bonk except for using his taunt kill.
5. Scout's weapon variety is SUPER underutilized.
6. Scout's Scattergun works more like a lever-action shotgun rather than a pump-action shotgun and even then, it's lever-action feature is for reloading.
7. THAT'S NOT EVEN ANY OF THE SCOUT'S SCATTERGUNS!! THAT'S DANTE'S SHOTGUN, THE COYOTE-A!!
8. THE COYOTE-A ISN'T A PUMP-ACTION SHOTGUN! IT'S A MIX BETWEEN A DOUBLE-BARREL AND MAGAZINE-FED SHOTGUN! IF YOU'RE GOING TO USE THE WRONG GUN BECAUSE YOU DON'T HAVE THE RESOURCES FOR IT, AT LEAST FIRE IT LIKE IT'S ACTUALLY DESIGNED OR FIRE IT LIKE THE FORCE-A-NATURE OR STOCK SCATTERGUN!!
My apologies for that explosive rant, but that detail about his gun has pissed me off for so long and I've never gotten to put it into words until now. Tracer vs Scout is MY biggest disappointment of this season, but it's not the worst episode of the season.
Edit: I literally forgot that he actually uses his Scattergun later, but that just means that they just used the wrong gun in general. If that REALLY was meant to be the Force-a-Nature, then Torian REALLY fucked up. No disrespect to the guy, but you should've understood that you used the wrong gun.
I gotta call you out for one thing with the Ganon vs Bowser part. Maybe I missed it but you said characters should be used at there best and had Bowser at galaxy level but wouldn’t the castle be a massive anti feat as well? In fact, Ganon does have cosmic arguments just like Bowser so the logic of not having a holy weapon of there stats were similar (both got lowballed) is valid.
From what I recall, the cosmic arguments for Ganon weren't a thing at the time of that episode's release.

I feel like here’s a good spot to leave what will surely be a hot take. I feel like the “Guest characters” have worn themselves a bit thin.
Focusing mainly on deadpool since I constantly ask myself “Why does he praise Deadpool vs The mask for helping Wade realize he doesn’t just need to be a quirky comedic relief character, yet constantly has him be his quirky comedic relief sidekick?” That’s not to say you can’t just have Flip d switch on to review these with you.
I don’t mean in any disrespect. Carrik is likely my favorite DB reviewer for having genuine energy when it comes to reviewing this show.
Well the guest characters will be taking a bit of a back seat for the next couple reviews, though I can't promise there won't be ANY cameos at all ;)
Am sorry, but for me Carolina vs The Meta is just a 5/10. As somebody that hasn't seen Red vs. Blue I felt lost in that episode, not understanding all the references and why certain things happened. It also didn't motivate me to watch the show either.

Dante vs Bayo is my favorite of the season and best premier of the show. Hulk vs Doomsday was crazy fun and 2nd best of the season.
Looks like Nate is more friendly with Pinkie than Deadpool at this point. It'll change as we move forward.
Pinkie is simply too much of a cinnamon bun for even Nate to be cynical towards.

For all its faults, I've grown to respect a lot of Season 3, though 80% of that respect is definitely the 3D episodes.
My least favorites are still RamonAmy and TracerScout, but especially RamonAmy. I can harp about it all day and I agree it's a really poor MU, but they're the characters I care most about from this season, even with episodes as bad as Mewtwo vs Shadow, and it really frustrates me how much the ending was butchered. Another great review like always Nate, well done!
(Also I stand by Pinkiepool is a good episode and good finale that could've gone even more bonkers without the development issues.)

@@vaggos2003 Nate covered some of the big ones, especially how Ramona goes completely brain dead in the last minute and a half. I don't like Amy MUs that include "she's a stalker" in the connections and the fact that Knives doesn't even cameo in the fight is really annoying.
Hell in the climax with the tornado of arcade machines, Amy doesn't even jump. Her sprite is a static image that moves like a computer mouse is dragging it from machine to machine, there is no indication of her exerting any actual movement.
I definitely disagree with rainbow dash death battle being a 8/10

I should've said hear them fly like normal since they do make bird noises, which almost makes the wings not flapping seem like a budget thing.
The old ones will not be canon anymore, but I have a fun plan for tying everything together once I finish my remake journey!

I just thought of a script for the fight for Traver vs Scout:
How about instead of Jeremy barely moving. I know this is crazy but,how about he actually moves around. Hell make a shot where it's scout accidentally shoots the Intelligence away so they have to go seperate ways like Scout on the highground and Tracer on the ground and they're running while shooting,dodging both gunfire and obstacles and frame it from the ground near Lena. Make Scout be at a disadvantage like him accidentally tricked by her and that he has to use BONK! to live so he avoids dying to the explosion and then the homerun after a cloud of smoke surrounds Tracer and she couldn't see that the bonk is over and Scout do homerun when she's caught off-guard which clears away the smoke with a single hit.
After she uses he Ultimate and Scout dies. Have Scout come back with some random Scout noise and then Tracer gets confused on how Scout lived even though he got blasted(Here's my interpretation of the dialogue):
Tracer:What the?! How are you still alive? I blew you up into smitherines.
Scout: I'll always come back unless you'll blow on m-
* Gets killed again *
Tracer: Inappropriate!
And have them back at square one and have Scout die a couple of times(One of the scenes I imagined was that Scout tries to use the Saxton statue but Tracer grabs it and turns him into Australium). When Scout wins,how about he gets way to fed up with Tracer's Chronal Accelerator so when Tracer tries to do something that would kill Scout again like shooting him the head or sticking a pulse bomb on his head he graps her arm and jams something like the beatsaber into the chronal accelerator so hard it goes through the other side and then beat Tracer into a bloody pulp(Or use the meteor spell to explode her) and then grab the intelligence and says something like
"Always the British folks"
Or
"Eh if I couldn't laid by her might as well make it God's problem"
Or just make him laugh and say
"Too slow chucklenuts!"

I acknowledge that Dante vs Bayonetta is good objectively. But I don't agree with the verdict and Bayo dying makes me too sad so I never wanna watch it ever again
While I do appreciate the idea of giving Deadpool vs Pinkie Pie the benefit of the doubt under the circumstances. I still can't help but find it annoying with some light charm to it at the start of the fight and Deadpool talking to the cast. I mostly still find both analyses a pain to sit through with poor choice of both fighters going to other lackluster past episodes (Beisdes Ken vs Terry). Like, imagine if they went back to either fan-favorite episodes to gush over or controversial episodes to change the outcome themselves. I know in Deadpool vs The Mask they do at least make a joke about the latter, but overall this episode ain't for me. Even though that's how Pinkie Pie is supposed to sound, still can't help but find it ear-piercing annoying to listen to her speak
Now to my surprise, I knew that this wasn't meant to be the finale, but I could have sworn it was Megazord vs Voltron that was supposed to be the season 3 finale and then later was meant to be the season 4 premier but kept getting pushed back to be fully done. This led to it being the most expensive episode to make back then, which I thought checked out due to this and Lara vs Nathan's lack of quality in some areas. But yeah, I do feel this has the aspects of a good season finale being a gag 4th wall break, but tbh, that's not what I really come for in a season finale. It just served as a reminder as an end note to how poor season 3 was the sprite fight department minus Ken vs Terry and Zorro vs Erza
Oh, excellent video as always. Always love hearing your thoughts and I enjoyed the skits. Can't wait for the season 4 review, the season of mediocrity with some highs.

I know it has been a while, but I can't get over your avatar is just a torso on the sofa.
Dante vs Bayonetta. Considering all the Universe arguments, I really wonder who won this the entire time, when the community's consensus was 'Bayonetta should win but this animation was amazing and still is.
Bowser vs Ganon. What is there to be said? It's infamy led to a shift in research
Ratchet & Clank vs Jak & Daxter. One of the most universally liked episodes in this season, but not so talked about surprisingly. Great banter and display of arsenal. Having their own fun with classical music. Second favourite episode of the season
Flash vs Quicksilver. The death was cool enough, which led to the best continuity gag 5 years later. But a whole lot of nothing. Quicksilver's backstory in the rundown is still hilarious. Although I remember some thinking Flash vs Archie Sonic was plausible back then, so they couldn't pull a Hawkeye
Joker vs Sweet Tooth. More of a story driven fight, but I really want a full Mad Max vehicle fight at some point. 'Eeeny Meenie Miney ALL OF THEM' is one of my favourite lines ever. I remembered when people were mainly 'Joker wins on foot but Needles wins in the vehicle' which led to a divide if manipulation can work since Joker barely knows his opponent. And nowadays street level DC means Joker can just blow that mech up naturally.
Mewtwo vs Shadow. So I am your sister. A fight I was really hyped for due to attachment in both franchises and I supported it knowing how great the theme was. But it was sadly the biggest disappointment in history. I wish Mewtwo vs BlackWarGreymon to happen so Mewtwo can get a good fight
Meta vs Carolina. As somebody into RvB I had a lot of fun with this episode even if I like the S7 episode a lot more in terms of writing. The plot twist still rings to this day.
Cammy vs Sonya. Jetz has come a long way. We got to start somewhere.
Tracer vs Scout. As the biggest TF2 at the time, I have to say that Tracer deserved to win back then, but they didn't elaborate enough, where scaling Scout to the rockets still wouldn't be enough. I imagine they kept the animation simple to give Torrian a break for Hulk vs Doomsday, so a shame Scout looked sluggish.
Ken vs Terry. A short but sweet episode, so a real step up for Jetz only two episodes later. And one of the last Settle it in Smash episodes I expected
Amy vs Ramona. This is a strange example of an episode getting me into new media, where I read all of Scott Pilgrim and watched the film in preparation. It is admittedly a random choice for a fight, but it was charming enough and had fun setpieces when it came to multiple Ramonas, even if the death was a bit drawn out. My little personal opinion
Hulk vs Doomsday. I claimed this episode was my favourite in the show's history, but nowadays it is a bit unclear where Top 5 is a good gauge. King of Season 3
Zoro vs Erza. The curse of that meteor feat two weeks later. Jetz kept improving and the start of really getting anime fans on board with the first anime vs anime DB. Our best sprite fight of the season.
Deadpool vs PInkie. Not finale material, but at least some charm as a comedy skit. I still take humour that Pinkie should have won.
At this point I'd like to consider Nate almost like a parody of those avatars with how often I show him outside of the usual presentation angle XD
