- So we made the journey up to the forest of dean mtb cycle centre to check out the canyon bikes demo day event! Ended up riding a few different bikes, including the all new Canyon Spectral:on / Strive:on / Torque:on to name a few! Big thank you to the canyon uk team/staff for such a fun day and setting us up with some wicked electric mountain bikes to try... and shoutout to the forest of dean trail builders also cause that place is running so good! Also big up Zac for the lift ofc...

Reach numbers are quite generous on the strive , i currently ride a medium whyte t 130 with a 455 reach , would you go for the small strive on as its only 5 mm shorter reach ??

Great video! 🎉 I saw you were riding the Torque on in size Large! Since canyon recommends M and L for me, (and I’m right between the sizes!) I just wonder how tall you are and how you liked the large!
I’m 183cm with a leg length of 87cm!
Usually I go with Large on canyon Mtb‘s! But I heard this bad boy is pretty grown up!
Would be nice to hear your thoughts on that!

Hey bro, thank you! Yep shes a beast, definitely the biggest large i've ever ridden, but it doesn't feel too big in most cases. I'm about 184/185cm and could definitely ride both sizes, in fact i think if it was my only bike i'd probably choose the medium! The large is great for stability on rough, steep, fast tracks... but the medium would feel more playful and flickable in the tighter stuff and on jumps/corners etc! Just depends what your riding style is and what kind of trails you ride normally! Hope that helps 😁
@@willgreenfield thanks Will! Yes that helps! My focus is definitely on gnarly steep stuff with drops and roleovers…. I’m not a to big fan of to flowy trails and the big air jumps neither! At the moment I own a 2021 Torque CF in Large which is quite playfuI! I love the bike and will keep it! So, I’m set for jumplines! 😅 I probably go for the Large one, as I usually have have the a tendency towards the bigger size!

How would you describe the biggest differences of those 3 bikes… is Torque on too big for trail biking? Is Spectral on too little for bike parking? I would do both 50/50. Im not doing big air, just trying to go fast
I would say the torque:on is quite a lot of bike yes, i wouldn't choose it if my local trails were more tame/flat. If you wanted one to do it all i'd probably take the new Strive:on or spectral:on. But if you like riding steeper, rougher tracks and going as fast as possible downhill... then torque:on is the best option!

I'm completely on the fence between buying the strive ON vs. the Torque ON. I ride a good mix of natural trail and bike parks like Dyfi. Love jumping but also love big epic days out in the woods. Which bike would you recommend?
Didnt get to do much riding on the strive on but felt more suited to the torque on personally based on the longer travel. The strive on definitely has a better motor/battery/interface as the torque on is still on then ep8 gen1 which is a shame. Tbh i'd say you can't go wrong with either bikes, both seem very capable! I think if it was my own money i'd probably take the strive just because the motor is better. The torque is definitely the better bike for downhill tracks etc but for the money the strive just seems like a better option. Hope that helps!

Great video! Could you help me out on a couple questions for Torque:On vs Strive:On?
1) Which bike feels more playful/easier to jump?
2) Would you say the Bosch motor is “better” than the EP8? Which do you prefer and why?
3) With the bottle fitting so tightly on the Torque:On, did you experience any rattling or rubbing against the frame? I don’t mind the look but would hate for it to be rattling through rough sections.

1. Strive defo more playful/easier to jump
2. Bosch defo feels better than the gen1 ep8! Feels more punchy, less rattly and not quite as outdated
3. Bottle doesnt rattle at all but it is made out of a hard material that you cant really squeeze that easily so i had to take the lid off it to drink from it...
