We will keep our fingers and toes crossed for you! I hope it all works out. When we lived in Singapore, our second unit was only 70sqf. It was shoe box (3 kids!). small is not easy, but it is doable!

Of course!! If we ever get there. lol
This is good news!! I don’t know what the tenancy laws are like in Queensland but I’m quite certain that if you have received a termination notice in NSW and you wished to leave earlier than the notice date, they have to release you from the lease. Please check your rights on this. If it’s the same as here, they can’t prevent you from breaking a lease early with a termination notice (I think). Please check this for yourself.
Read through this and see what applies to you - www.rta.qld.gov.au/breaklease Also, if need be, get advice from your local tenants union.
As for decluttering, I did what I could before we moved, but because we needed to get out so urgently so my former landlord could put the house on the market, we didn’t do it all. We continued to declutter as we are unpacking. Don’t be hard on yourself. Just do what you can. The rest can continue after you move.

I've been in 3 private rentals. Not having real estate invasions are such a blessing.
I feel you! I've had more than my fair share of real estate invasions and it's definitely not a pleasant experience. So grateful to be in a private rental now. Especially since he'll conduct inspections over a bottle of gin lol - well - maybe better its just a glass.... or two... lol

Sounds like you had a little bit of good news ( crossed fingers and toes), declutter the stuff you can do and then just pack everything, you can do more when you unpack, Sounds like the kitchen will need a table for prep space, but I think it's a winner, so relieved that you a possible place. Just remember to look after yourself as you have a lot to do, and if you fall health wise it has a knock on effect, sending hugs to you from me. ❤

I keep telling myself "by May everything will be settled... it's just short term pain..." If the Landlord lets us out of our lease early it will be settled by March or even the end of February - so fingers crossed. x
In my experience moving house is a 'double de-clutter' process anyway... "declutter -> pack -> declutter as you unpack" So it is perfectly fine if you don't quite get it all in the first step. 😉
I really needed that kind of permission I think. The obvious rubbish and unused things are easy but I definitely struggle with decision fatigue after a while.

In the next property only put away the keepers. The stuff left in the boxes is the excess you don’t need. The items will be in quarantine so to speak while they are in the box.

I've had mixed experiences with private rentals but we're in a good one now and not having inspections or nit-picky property managers while also being able to make the house more of your own home makes such a difference. Love the catio idea too!
All of my fingers crossed that it all goes to plan and is as stress free of a move as moving can be 💜💜
It is such a relief to know we can have the pets... hopefully they are ok in the new place - Bruce is 10 and we suspect he was neglected or abused before we got him at 18 months and Marlin is 8 and never lived anywhere else - so we hope they both cope. The cats will not love the Catio - but it will be worth it to know they're safe.

Skips can be expensive, luckily when we moved in 5 years ago here currently the church we rent from paid skip for us 😊, but of course not everyone gets that 😊
We're lucky that a friend is lending us his trailer every weekend. We already filled it once. lol
I’m lucky in that way. I’ve had the same property manager so it’s not like a stranger coming in every 3 months. We chat and laugh and we really get on. I’m definitely blessed in that regard
I've had so many property managers I've lost count. I've had the extremes too - one walked in - went to back looked out the window and left, another looked in every nook and cranny and ran her finger across surfaces to check for dust and sent a letter about the one dog poo in the yard. (I had her for about a year and it got a point that I still have panic attacks about house inspections - my next door neighbour had her too and she moved house to get away from her!) Another I had held newborn Rosie and chatted to me while I folded laundry 3 days post-partem. Godsend!! I've run the guauntlet for sure.

I have 6 cars in the drive, since we have so many drivers in the house. As long as they are friendly, the new neighborhood will be worth the move!
Yeah - it doesn't take much. I suspect this is a share accommodation situation next door - which is fine - unless they were like me and my friends when we were in share accommodation and partied a lot. lol. I intend to do a little letterbox drop and intro ourselves when we get there - hopefully build a little community of neighbours who look out for each other.
You've got this Mel. A catio sounds great. MyEveryDayWifeLife has been working on one of those. And so glad you will have a walkable neighborhood and can take the dogs for walks. On the kitchen, be ruthless with the declutter, I found I loved working in my camper kitchen because everything was within arms reach, but it is definitely focusing on efficiency in that situation. Huge hugs! You are totally worthy of the support!

@@MySemiSortedLife Mel one thing you can get rid of is all the plastic and just go to basic white dishes. I got set from ikea. It really helped the declutter in my kitchen. I am very proud of you and you will get through this. I have been with you since you started your channel. I just don't post much. Take clothes to a charity shops. You have got this . Please try and declutter as much as can so you won't be overwhelmed at the new smaller place. I get the anxiety part I am trying to declutter also. I have a son who is mentally ill and things have really piled up. Blessings.

People don't want to pay for stuff Mel 😆 Have you thought about listing stuff free of charge and leaving it outside? People will come and get it if it's free and save you having trips to the thrift shop 🤣 Human nature. I agree with you about the decluttering because you have to have a certain amount of mental strength and calm to do it. If you're feeling too anxious, it's not a good idea. To be honest - if someone pulled up and said "I'll take it but I'll not pay" I'd just let them. It's the perpetual "yes I'll be there" and then no show - its just not worth it!
Lol, does decluttering and anxiety go together for anyone? It sounds like you had lots of big stuff you are letting go of, so its hard to imagine it not being noticable. There will always be more to let go of though. New house or not, Dana has som catchy phrase, but i dont remember it, but the point is, its never done unless your dead. And then it just goes to someone else to do.
