As an old man I have seen and have known migrant families from Mexico and Russia from as early as the 60's when I was in grade school. In my observations over 50+ years I can say there is a big change in the attitude and spirit of the migrants today compared to the 60's, 70's, 80's....Back then I distinctly remember a couple families with kids my age, they were poor but extremely grateful to be here legally, so proud to be an American. All they did was work as much as possible, get the kids in USA school system. They did not want handouts, they just wanted work, schools for their kids and a local Church;-). They were grateful, lawful, hard working people who strived to learn English, to make a life and more importantly to CONTRIBUTE to USA society. Also all I knew had sponsors. Migrants I knew of when I was growing up were a completely different sort of person than many of the migrants here today, Surely there are still good hearted, lawful, honest people who want to assimilate, that want to contribute but I think most are people that are not contributing, not at all, like a huge anchor.

The thing that's wrong with the current migrants, is they are using a migrant loophole, the "asylum" loophole, to get into the states...by breaking a broken immigrants law system. They have no will to assimilate or contribute, instead wants to get a job, then go back to their home state and send back the money to their relatives in whatever country they came from. Kinda wrong in my opinion.

I say that all the time I never understood why anybody would want to join another mans problems that he created for you. He needs to be served. @@CH-vs4jv I agree. I told my husband “why don’t they deploy the Guard down there”. I live in Phoenix and it’s gotten out of hand. I think when Trump gets in office he will do exactly this. He might even have to deploy Guardsmen from other states, not just the border states, to get this under control. In the process of securing the border they need to deport the ones that are here. I love Texas governor Abbott and what he has done for his state. He’s trying to make it criminal to cross into his state.
They should increase the recruitment of border patrol to safe guard our border to stop illegal migrants, drugs entering our country.

This is what happens when you don't learn from others' mistakes. The US watched Europe struggle with the same issues -only those migrants were fleeing violence, unrest and lack of work from the Middle East. We watched but didn't learn from their mistakes.
80% of those trying to cross the border are coming from a half dozen countries: Haiti, Venezuela, Guatemala, El Salvador, Columbia and Nicaragua. If the US would just work with their neighbors in the OAS, we'd be able to stabilize these governments and economies. That would lessen the need to migrate north.
I also blame the NRA and the firearms industry for this crisis. The US is the largest seller and manufacturer of firearms. Where do you think these cartels are acquiring their weapons? US manufacturers.

I would like to know what immigration Kamala Harris talks about, 'cuz she said she was hoping to check how to solve the problem with illegal migration in the southern border but I know by own experience that crossing illegally the Mexico-US border is a big lie, because I tried to cross the Rio bravo river, the desert and jump the border wall.
I finally got to California crossing the San Ysidro Port of entry hidden in a car just to realize that if you enter undocumented to the US, you won't be able to get a job.
By the way cellphones and social media are intercepted at the mexico-US border, I know cuz when I created a new account on a social media app people from the block I live in Guatemala (my country of origin) just came up in the people you may know section.
The real illegal migration is people who have gotten American visas under the table and the attorneys who gave out those visas did not check these people's background, and they even have a game with these visas gotten under the table, as matter of the fact some people from my neighborhood (Sakerti 2, not sure about other neighborhoods around this area) got American visas when they made me leave Guatemala.

There was a coyote in my neighborhood and he used to take people to the Mexico-US border and helped them to cross illegally the Mexico-US border, mostly he knew people who got them American visas and work permits under the table, I say this because the only way one can stay in the US is with American visa or work permit, I couldn't get a job because of arriving undocumented and got back to Guatemala.

They made me leave Guatemala by fracturing my mandible and walking past by my house saying that I was going out at night to steal but the par about stealing wasn't true at all.
They said there were extortions but there's no exit at the end of the boulevard and they have been messing with me doing strange signs and pretending that they could run me over, so that Id leave again but I won't.

For decades, the US has been providing financial aid to countries all over the world. It is time for the US to stop this practice and re-direct those funds to US hospitals, law enforcement and border control to cover the costs of the illegal migrant flood. When the US provides medical care to illegal migrants, the US needs to bill the country from which that migrant came. Any products from that country which enter the US should have an additional import tax applied and the funds from that tax used to cover the costs of the migrants from that country.
