  • The 2023 Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX is one of my favourite bikes, but it needs a few accessories to make it truly the stand out that it's capable of being. In this review I have a fully optioned up 2023 Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX and I'm able to review it in detail for you! Want to see a bike like this in person? Connect with the amazing team at Jim Gilbert's PowerSports here: powersports.wheelsanddeals.ca...
    Edit: I forgot to drop in the picture of my bike. Here's what I bought. A Z900RS SE. • I bought a Kawasaki Z9...

    I believe the larger windscreen, hard saddle bags, and the rear seat cover are part of the tour package. I've been looking at one of these myself as a secondary bike, to my '18 z900rs.

      So I film in Canada, and we don't have those packages. We get to choose which features we want to add individually.

    I love this bike, the engine is fantastic and for the most part silky smooth, but when I tested it here in the UK, I noticed that at 70mph up, I felt an uncomfortable tingling, buzzy engine vibration through the seat at constant speeds. Does anyone else notice this? Has anyone cured it by fitting the high comfort seat or changing the gearing to make it rev less at freeway speeds?

    I owned the 2018 Z1000SX/Ninja 1000SX. That was pre Cruise control, and when it had two Huge triangel exhausts. It's the best bike I've owned, and I've owned a lot of good once. A 2009 ZX10R, 2019 MT-09 and now I ride a 2015 BMW S1000R with all the extras. I'd gladly trade it back for my Z1000SX. I Really want this new one with Cruise control. And finally, no exhaust that blocks the chain maintenance. That's why I sold mine in the end. I Hope I can get the 2020+ Ninja 1000SX. I'll never sell it again.

    I have a 2022. This is a great machine. I don’t know how Kawasaki makes a small sport-ish bike so comfy. 6’2”, 260lbs. Outfitted with a touring package. Can’t carry as much as my BMW GS. Isn’t curvy girl sexy like my Moto Guzzi Cali 1400. But If I need to cross a state or two, I jump on the Kawi these days.

    • @omarbailey7243
      @omarbailey7243 Před 3 měsíci

      If you had to choose between this or. GS, which stays in the garage? That’s what brought me to this video. The other two bikes I’m comparing is rocket 3 gt and a Ducati super sport 950s

    • @javarilla
      @javarilla Před 3 měsíci +1

      @@omarbailey7243 - i live in Arizona and ride the US Southwest. So much of the really cool stuff around here (AZ, CO, NM, UT, NV…) is inaccessible by hardtop, so It’s hard to imagine life without something in the adventure category. And, truth be told, in tight twisties with Road Pilots, the GS is the higher performance machine. But, because I have the Ninja which is plenty fun, and because twisties are few and far between around here, the GS can wear off-road shoes full time for trips to Chaco and etc. So, I guess the answer to the question is, i will ALWAYS have a GS. If I could only have one, it would be travel ready GS with different sets of wheels shod with different tires.

    Reflectors on the saddle bags is probably very practical but if it was my bike they’d have to go. The rear cowl again seems an odd choice, I’d be having the green. Otherwise save your money and keep the black seat. I’m 50/50 on the high panel inserts of the saddles, this one is black and looks great. I have the green and looks great. I would add that black shows scuff marks when sweeping your leg up on the bike. My green doesn’t.

      I'm 5.5...I can touch ground but only on the balls of my feet, or semi- tippy-toe..but I always lean it to my left a bit and adjust my ass to flat foot at least one footed. Works for me. I sat on the Suzuki GSX 1000 GT a couple weeks ago, it's certainly a little more compact and sits lower...a little more comfy for my short ass..I kinda wish I would've sat on the Suzuki 1st, before I bought the Ninja. HOWEVER!!!! The Ninja is indeed one hell of a bike. A Cadillac/Porche on 2 wheels...It's anything you want it to be, except off road of course.. easy and calm, until you tell it different...but always manageable. Ride safe and responsible my friends.
      One other thing I'd like to address, though I think he's right about this bike should NEVER be someone's 1st bike as a totally inexperienced noobie, I must agree..however, my last bike was 20 yrs ago, a Honda Shadow 750 cruiser. This Ninja is my 1st bike since. And I feel right at home on it. I'm not in the noobie category, I know how to ride, but no expert. I had no issues jumping back in the saddle comfortably on this bike.. Twisting that throttle is a subjective issue. This bike is well beyond my capabilities. If you respect this bike, it will treat you right. Taking a machine like this to it's capabilities is VERY foolish...you will lose eventually

  • @ilmongolo

    "almost" bought it? go for it man ;) I had the '17 now the '20 and I can attest to it : very balanced bike, mature (10 year project...) competent, versatile, performant, sporty, fun, maybe the best quality price ratio in the market... you can't go wrong if you don't like "big enduros" posture on the road (I have also an enduro to go off, so...), I have hard bags (excellent and designed with the bike from the start by kawi), nav, sliders, heated grips... I know guys with over 90000 miles on it without a problem... what would I change for the next iterations? maybe a /55 rear instead of the /50, to give more flickability, some pounds less would not be bad and maybe even better suspensions (i.e. an SE editions with all the best electronics)... pls kawi don't go for more hp blindlessly sacrificing the torque!

    I ride a 2019 Versys 1000, why would this bike be better at sport touring?

    • @PeterLoweOne
      @PeterLoweOne  Před rokem +1

      It's more sporty. The handling is better, it has more power. If your idea of sport touring is to tour to all the great riding locations, and then have a true sport bike on those roads, this bike is perfect. I'm a huge fan of the Versys 1000 but that bike is going to be a better touring bike while having less sporting capabilities.
