    That is the exact bike, color and set-up I'm keeping my eyes open for. I wish the new ones were blacked out as that one is. Across the States, there are not many used ones for sale. That tells me that the owners really appreciate them. Very helpful; thank you.

    Excellent review of the 1000SX. I plan on getting this as my second bike. I laughed when you said that you will not be able to ride when you are in your 60s. I am in my early 60s and I still ride ZX-10R which is my third superbike. Love it despite all the aches and pains (and speeding tickets). Please stay in shape and you will be fine as I speak from experience. Thank You for the review. The non-scripted review was excellent and I learned many new things.

    They come separately not to make money but because they are contract manufactured by Givi. The actual cases are the same for all the bikes , VERSYS, ninja , and h2 sx. Then you purchase the trim pieces that match your bike . Then you purchase the fitment kit , which there isn’t much to, but it helps the cases fit tightly . Then you need the kit to change the lock to match your ignition key .
    Don’t be fooled by catalog or part numbers , the cases are the same ! All the other pieces are bike specific. Your dealer will very likely not know this.
    I also have that windshield
    It looks TERRIBLE , but it blocks the wind. I rarely use it because it looks so ridiculous .

      I have the 2020 uk version since new and am critical of the dash size and functionality, but the reality is that when motorcycling you need to glance a speed/revs etc.
      And for that it really is spot on, easy to read in all conditions and nicely presented.

    I got the 2022 Ninja 1000SX Performance Tourer, in April (black / red one) and I absolutely love it. I totally agree its a bike you can daily commute, have fun on the country lanes and tour about on. 130 miles and I give it a small rest. The 2022 had some changes in the geometry making its handling along the country lanes better. The rider sitting position is tweaked a small bit as well. They also changed the engine tuning a small amount. Though its tiny changes all it really amounts to is a bit of polishing an already great bike. Its my main transport and I'm 57 and 6'2" and am loving it. Wish this bike was about 20 years ago. Like the review, sometimes having no script gives that passion you can lose when you are reading.

      Hi there! I have a riding review dropping soon. I THINK you will hear the exhaust but if not I'll be dropping more videos about this bike soon and will do a sound check! Rear cowl is direct from Kawasaki. After each ride I put it up on my lift and hand clean it with Motorcycle Spirits and Micro Fiber. You don't need a lift, though. Just get a nice shop chair and get next to your bike and wipe it down - takes 15 minutes if it's not too bad.

  • @Charlie-fc1mh
    @Charlie-fc1mh Před rokem +2

    Just went to my dealer yesterday and sat on the sx. I'm 6'1"and weigh 285. The first things I noticed was that I was sitting almost up against the fuel tank, secondly the seat seemed to be a bit hard on my behind. Also, the windscreen wasn't very tall and wide. Because of the foot pegs being set back a ways, it was putting my knees in an awkward position. I really like the bike. I'm just wondering if I could get used to it. I'm not sure if you can relocate the pegs? I was wondering if the Corbin seat is any better than the stock one. I was pretty sure the windscreen could be replaced with an aftermarket one. And I know that you can get handle bar risers also. Oh yeah, I didn't mention that I'm almost 66 and weigh 285. Lmao, I haven't even been on a bike in 45 years. Honestly though, I don't think there's a bike out there that I can't handle. I probably won't be riding more than 200 miles out. Mainly on weekends. I've been looking at the big bikes also. It's just all that weight. I really like the africa twin. It's very comfortable with my height. Only thing about this is the 21" front wheel. Probably at least 90% of my riding will be on pavement. This is why I shifted my focus to sport touring. I would probably be happy with the handling of the twin. It's not like I'll be pushing my self or rather the bike into curves to fast. I'm also looking at the Honda nt 1100. I believe it would be much more comfortable. I'm not to crazy about the styling of it though. Anyway, I think I've kind of got it narrowed down.

    Spot on review. I've had my '21 for 10 months and 13,000 miles. Finished four trips with panniers and the top case each trip lasting 5-7 days. Very competent tourer and very stable at any speed when fully loaded. Quick as hell in the twisties with loads of power. The bike pulls hard even in 5th and 6th gear. However I agree with you that if I wanted to do something like multi-day cross-country trip I'd probably opt for a larger tourer.
    I'm also considering a cat-delete full exhaust. When you removed the cat and replaced the headers, were there any backfires, check engine lights etc.? I've read that the tune for the 2020+ bikes is out now.

    • @JourneyRiderVlog
      @JourneyRiderVlog  Před 2 lety +1

      The full exhaust can be bought from Akropovic directly or some other vendors sell it specifically for this bike. If you are mechanically inclined it's not too hard. One thing to note is if the engine is cool you will hear some clicking for the first minute or so of the bike running as these are racing designed so they sit in the engine a little differently. If you have a lift it becomes easier. A couple of hours max and you got it.

    Great review. I have a 2021, which replaced in 2017. The only time I have ever purchased the same bike twice! It’s that good. I have a question about the exhaust, the same one as Damian had. When you replaced the headers, did you need to do any retuning? Usually you do, unlike the slip on, and that’s what has held me back so far. Also, for long tours I put the Kawasaki top box and its mount (Givi) on a Hebko & Becker Sportrack that replaces the rear seat. Negatives, aside from losing the seat, is that it makes the bike look like a scooter and may crowd you, although not me at 5’8”. Could be adjusted by where you place the mounting plate on the rack. Positives are that it’s secure, color matches, doesn’t change the balance of the bike and is less affected by side winds.

    • @JourneyRiderVlog
      @JourneyRiderVlog  Před 2 lety

      Thanks for your reply. About the exhaust, as far as I know you cannot tune this bike. You can't even find a Dynojet to work with it. Apparently, the computer handles it on its' own. I've not had any issues at all.

    The Suzuki GSX-S 1000GT is a sharp looking bike as well. The Yamaha Tracer 9GT is great, but it actually cost slightly more than the Kawasaki or Suzuki. I like all 3.
