You people keep talking of support Nigeria received from other countries but forget to mention the support Biafra received from such countries as France, Portugal, Israel, Gabon, Equitorial Guinea, and Ivory Coast. US had no business with the war as it was engaged in another war. Britain support is understandable. Russia support came in form of sales of weapons to Nigeria. Egyptians experts helped Nigerian military personnel to operate some of the war equipment procured from Russia. So both sides received some military support. But Nigeria military was more tactical in blocking off many of your supply routes. There was no way Biafra could have won the war. Moreso, her military personnel were better trained and far outnumbered those of Biafra. All in all, it was an unfortunate incident that could have been avoided.

    • @Ikenna_Dike

@@tosinomoyeni2036 You lie shamelessly. Biafra received no weapons from any country save minuscule light weapons flown in using light aircraft by France for a fee, at an exorbitant rate I dare to add. Hardly anything compared to what Nigeria was getting from the maniacal British government obsessed with oil and racial hatred, shipping thousands of tons of high calibre weapons to the Nigeria side to ensure that Nigeria win the war. Even at that Nigeria still struggled until they were encouraged by the imperialists to impose food blockade. Biafra has been vindicated as the world can see the type of Nigeria you fought for.

When I look at the array of comments in this video clip alone, the same problem that led to the wasteful, avoidable civil war is obvious- Ego.
The biafra sympathisers of Eastern Nigerian ancestry feed their ego by claiming Biafra really 'tried' to hold the federal side at bay for 3 long years with minimal equipment and support.
The sympathisers of the federal side gloat over 'victory' over Biafra.
The Hausa-Fulani man boasts and gloats that no middle-belt or northern minority tribe comes close to his own 'superior/ majority' tribe.
It is such a shame and sad to see that even in this age, we fail to understand that we are all individually equal before God and each individual deserves mutual respect regardless of tribe or background. Moreso for us citizens of the same country! What do we stand to gain by always thinking of massaging our own ego rather than peaceful co-existence with one another?
Well, I guess there must be very few people who view things from my perspective.
We can put the blame game and finger pointing behind us, truly forgive and forge ahead as a nation. However, Nigeria needs honest leadership by this example at the highest level. Unfortunately, the protagonists of the civil war remain at the helm and I don't think Buhari buys my ideas, judging from his actions. We keep hope alive for a time my noble thoughts can become reality in Nigeria 🙏
