    More tips for selling:
    1 include as many photos as you can and please use landscape
    2 If you like make the first photo seen a front corner shot with the wheels turned towards the opposite corner like its on the cover of a magazine
    3 Taking pictures in your yard, nicer area or in my case the gravel near the field across the street looks a lot nicer than the am/pm parking lot
    4 NO snapchat or instagram photos, captions and filters are usually a dead giveaway you are young and stereo typically do not have $ for maintenance
    5 If you use filters make is a subtle one and use it on all photos to bring back color if the photos look dead
    6 Show as much of the car as possible, all body panels, 1 or 2 interior, 1 good landscape engine bay pic showing the whole bay
    7 your goal to an extent is to show as much of the car in the ad as possible, an ad with good pictures and enough simple detail will keep expectations even with the car.
    8 Get that car as clean as possible, nobody likes somebody elses mess. Wash, vacuum and at least wipe the engine bay with a rag (dont hose it, ends bad)
    9 Be sure to include all necessary information, year, make, model, engine style v6,v8 etc. , engine displacement, rwd,fwd, awd, 4wd, mileage, general options like a/c or p/s if not all of the cars had it like miatas.
    10 Remember you are trying to sell the car so you need to be honest, but the buyer also needs to make the call themselves on what is wrong with the car. If the steering wheel isn't dead straight but it doesn't pull it is not worth mentioning IMO.
    Remember lots of pictures and to the point Keep-It-Simple-Stupid

      I would only say to stick with the style and be consistent with it once you have had a lot of experience, in my opinion new photographers should always try new style and techniques and when you find something you like save it but keep messing around with it until you feel that you exhausted all possible styles you can think of, I personally did what you recommended and while I really liked it one day I decided to do the opposite of what I would normally do, I started out doing very warm shots and eventually after almost a year of experimenting I found that I like cooler photography better, may just be me tho, one of my friends did the same thing I did and experimented a lot and loved it but another friend didnt like to do that

    Really cool video idea! I've been shooting cars for about two years now, and I've only got two things to say. 1, Lightroom will completely change the way your photography. It's fun, intuitive, and really really capable, and it's free! And 2, practice. The more you practice, the better you will get, and the more creative you'll get!

    Ten more tips:
    1. Sometimes leaving the natural color of the photo alone is better. Stylistic color is fun for posting online but it doesn't necessarily "improve" the shot. However, /always/ check to see if adjusting your highlights/whites and shadows/blacks can improve the photo.
    2. You CAN shoot with the main light source somewhere behind your car! A lot of professional photographers and cinematographers even prefer this technique. Just make sure there's enough ambient light that your car doesn't look too dark.
    3. A perfect time to try "light behind the car" is during sunset or in the hour before it, AKA "magic hour". The sun's low angle will cast long shadows and a warm beautiful look on your car. Think about how many pro car shots have that golden sunset look.
    4. Learn what The Rule Of Thirds is! It takes less than a minute and a quick Google search to learn, and it will give you a basic idea of how to get good composition easily in your photos.
    5. While you're on Google becoming an expert in just a few minutes, look up Leading Lines! Leading lines add depth and draw attention to the subject/car.
    6. The glass filter used in front of the iPhone lens here is called a circular polarizer. Rotating the filter allows you to get rid of various unwanted reflections on your car or make the sky appear more blue. Just get one! You will have a lot of fun and you'll get better photos.
    7. As shown here, your background is important. Ideally, place your car in a location that might already be worth taking a photo of on it's own as a landscape or aesthetic shot. Try to take an appealing photo of both the background AND your car /at the same time/.
    8. They also sort of show this in the video, but never underestimate the power of turning the face of your front wheels towards the camera, whether the shot is from the front or the rear. You don't need it in every shot, but it's a lot like posing your car for the camera.
    9. Got Photoshop? Cool. It's actually very easy to edit a still image of your car to have motion blur on just the wheels and background (not the body of the car itself) as if the photo was taken at high speeds. Tutorials are everywhere! The key is to take a dramatic low angle shot of your car (driver not visible) in a place where it COULD be zooming along. This will stand out, because people don't tend to have an "action shot" of their car.
    10. This last one should be obvious but... if you're actually taking your car somewhere for pictures, please wash it first! A dirty car looks cheaper than it ought to in photos. "Eh, looks good enough" is not good enough.

    @arturbaleja3907 Před 5 lety +2

    One more tip. Consider tour timing. You can make your photos look much nicer by taking them in evening, or early morning.
    This makes the colours warmer and often much more interesting.
    Also the lighting is generally milder at this time, so it can reduce highlights and make shades softer.
    This enables you even to make photos with the sun in the shoot without having a lot of trouble with contrast.
    And this trick us very easy to implement.

    For me, the best way to learn stuff like that is to look at the stuff I like and then analyse it, why I like it, why it works, where's the subject, what's in the background, where's the horizon, how are the colours, where your eyes are drawn to the most when looking at that picture. It takes a bit of practice, but it's rather easy once you get a hang of it.
    From this video I LOVE the advice to use your legs instead of zooming in. It's so simple, yet a lot of people don't get it.

      Yea... The guy who was doing the editing didn't really know what he was doing, slidimg the highlights down in vsco, rendering it, picture gets compressed, then throwing it into light room and turning the high lights up and the whites down? Wtf do you you want your highlights to do 😂😂😂😂😂

    • @MaxCaissie
      @MaxCaissie Před 4 lety +3

      Should have done all the processing on Lightroom, cleaner output, can render without any additional compression

    Actually zooming isn't bad if your phone has more than a single camera and one of them is a telephoto or more
    For example when they used the iphone in the vid it only had one lens and for zooming it just zoomed on the screen and not the camera itself so basically they lost a lot of resolution
    On a phone like the galaxy S10 you have a wide-angle and the telephoto,where the x2 is loss-free
    The P30 pro has a lot of zoom capability (up to 50x) but not exactly without loss but good enough

    • @tommynguyen8620
      @tommynguyen8620 Před 5 lety +1

      Still, when you can just move closer, zoom isnt neccessary.

    As a person with a photography hobby, this is a pretty accurate video. Pretty basic, but this is like most of what I do with most of my photos, and for photos like that this is more than enough touching up. If you're willing to go more advanced, you should definitely shoot in RAW if your device supports it.

    Very good video in the times when we all some time or the other post pics of our car for sale or even buy one.
    Though I would rather like the original pics of a car over a well taken or even edited one
    This shows the condition of the car realistically
    Saves a lot of time.
