    Very nice. I just bought an 06 f250 lariat fx4 with 77k for $9,500. Has damage to the bed so it will need repair or replaced but the truck is in amazing condition mechanically, no frame damage in the wreck, the insurance company salvaged it due to small dent in rear passenger door jam. Im happy with it!

    great video, clean 6.0. these trucks are great after you put about 5 to 6k into them fixing all the bad design flaws. I've owned my 6.0 since 04 and bullet proofed it about 5 years ago, best money ever spent, now no issues. get some gauges to watch temps especially ur EGT, eot, ect,and trans.

      After i had my EGR deleted, the light came on about 3 days later. Been living with it ever since and it drives me nuts. I could send the ECM to FICMrepair.com, have them do it for 100bucks but hate to have my truck down. I keep looking for another way.

      Slaven 131 yes sir, I bought this truck about 20 months ago. Items I’ve changed are ficm, egr valve, ebp sensor , air filter, batteries and fuel filters. (It’s not my primary truck) the problem is that at start up there is immediate white smoke out of the tail pipe. Doesn’t clear up. Long story short, I’ve decided to save up for a complete Bulletproof. I called Bulletproof Diesel in Az. For an idea of cost. 12k give or take.. the big labor items are left (if you change one, you should change the other items)egr cooler,high pressure oil pump, oil cooler, head studs etc. I’m in Texas. It has 126 k miles. Any thoughts, thanks

      Slaven 131 it’s a 2007 Super Duty 6.0 4x4 crew cab longbed. 126 k miles. I don’t care where I have it “fixed “ so much as I want it to be reliable for travel across the country. Thanks for your opinion. I’d rather not spend 5 grand and have to turn around and then have to do a large repair, when I could have had it repaired the first time. LoL, you should know that my wife is influential.lol if you know what I mean. So you don’t think bpd is the way to go ? I know that if you’re into the engine far enough to change the egr cooler, then you may as well change the oil pump, oil cooler, water pump, head studs and gaskets etc just because of the labor. I’d like your opinion on the components that you would change to get me to the piece of mind I’m trying to achieve

    Great video, I just purchased a 05 f250. I purchased it off of a older guy that bought it new. it has 170k miles, he did the age delete, rebuild the ficm, and replaced 3 injectors. What do I need to delete so I won't have any issues

    • @TheBoostedFam
      @TheBoostedFam  Před 7 lety +2

      Cesar Lopez for the most part EGR delete is the main thing I've been informed of other than putting head studs, but im not a mechanic to say 100% what is your best route.

    • @edm9760
      @edm9760 Před 7 lety +4

      head studs are not entirely necessary unless you are wanting to crank out high HP with a tune. Best to test the coolant system and make sure it is not over pressuring, which would mean your head gaskets are bad and heads are warped. To do this see if the degas bottle has pressure in it when the engine is completely cold. if it does you have a problem, if not your good. Also can buy the bubbler kit from bulletproof diesel to test it. Injectors will give you problems at some point, so watch them closely. And it is also a good idea to do a complete coolant flush with vc-9 or restore to clean out the oil cooler,

    • @CesarLopez-lp3nr
      @CesarLopez-lp3nr Před 7 lety +1

      Have you ever back flushed an oil cooler? Also, do any additives help injectors not going bad? I do not plan on adding any tunner to my truck

    • @CDGking95
      @CDGking95 Před 7 lety +4

      for the most part on 6.0s the main thing to do is EGR delete, change Oil cooler(they've been updated since the truck first came out), and I recommend a coolant filtration just to help keep the oil cooler clear. Asides from that just your basic coolant flush and other maintnance. edm is right about head studs not being entirely necessary, its mainly a supporting mod for a more power.

    • @CDGking95
      @CDGking95 Před 7 lety +4

      also if the truck hasnt had it done already, look into checking injector pressures. from factory 6.0s tend to drop pressure which is a bad thing for the injectors. ford released a blue spring kit a while back to help increase pressure to the injectors. in a perfect world 60 psi, give or take a couple psi AT WOD throttle, is where you want to be.

    Let me show you show to waste money on 6.0 mods ALWAYS head studs and o ring the heads before tuning it rolling coal is just fuel out the tail pipe just because it makes smoke doesn’t mean it’s reliable

    Rolling smoke just annoys other drivers around you, and around here makes you a target for the law. It's to pickup drivers what crotch rockets are to serious motorcycle riders. I can put too much fuel through a lawn mower to make it smoke.

    A 6.0 is only good when you put 4-6 grand into it. You do that to any engine and it will run forever. From the factory, the 6.0 is the worst diesel you can possibly buy. That's why they are so cheap.

    It is beyond me why anyone would want their truck to "blow smoke". I have an 05, 6liter as well. All stock, not tunes. Low km's for a diesel - 268,000. Had the turbo and oil cooler cleaned when I first bought it over years ago with 165,000km's. I can't justify a big truck just like most people can't. But "blowing smoke " is just over the top for silliness. WHY? Diesel owners should care about environmental issues as well.

    • @TheBoostedFam
      @TheBoostedFam  Před 7 lety

      Cool. I don't want to sound like a tree hugger. But, there is a lot of good to say about people taking responsibility for noise levels and pollutants. a diesel owner can make a better statement by keeping an older rig in really good condition. reuse is an environmental statement and says a lot about an owner that they care about their ride.

Step 5 laugh at all the idiots who bought a 6.0 and and had dump loads of money in it to get it run like it should!! step 6 if you cant find a cummins skip to step 7 buy a 7.3 powerstroke and repeat steps 2 through 5!
