Great job on your videos! I really like the non " know it all" approach. Cool and clean. Thanks
Brig T thank ya buddy!
Paid 3 for mine. 04 lariat, put 7 more in and it's a bad ass reliable machine. Its everything needed and more and I love to drive it. Chevy guy who respects my ford. This started off leaving me on the side of the highway to I travel cross country.
Very nice. I just bought an 06 f250 lariat fx4 with 77k for $9,500. Has damage to the bed so it will need repair or replaced but the truck is in amazing condition mechanically, no frame damage in the wreck, the insurance company salvaged it due to small dent in rear passenger door jam. Im happy with it!
great video, clean 6.0. these trucks are great after you put about 5 to 6k into them fixing all the bad design flaws. I've owned my 6.0 since 04 and bullet proofed it about 5 years ago, best money ever spent, now no issues. get some gauges to watch temps especially ur EGT, eot, ect,and trans.
Jason Gregorio What did your bulletproofing consist of. Im looking to buy a stock 2005 6.0
Adding a tuner and hammering truck before studs is suicide. Good video and nice house.
When you understand 6.0s they're good engines. Deleting or putting a bulletbroof EGR is a good first step.
of all the ford trucks I've owned. 99- 7.3, 2000- 7.3, 2000-6.8 v10 and my 06- 6.0 all crew cabs 8 ft bed dually. I have to say. I love just love my king ranch 6.0, 175000 on the motor only use synthetic oil and I have a coolant bypass. knock on wood no problems yet.
Western industrial Service LLC Nice, you've seemed to have had your fair share of Ford's.
I bought my 05 powerstroke lariat 8 months ago. has egregious delete and 4 inch pipe to 5 inch tip. nice truck you have.
TheBigga2581 thank ya, I'll pass the word to my cousin
I just picked up a 2006 f250 6.0 crew cab long bed with 110k and matching canopy. Already studded and deleted with matching canopy for 13k. Truck is flawless. It was a dealer trade in by a old man that took extremely good care of it. I feel like I got a pretty good deal.
I'm getting a 2003 F 350 dually stock 2 person owner only 113000 miles on her! for 13500
@@dallen8997 be carful with the 2003 year. It could have major issues. 2003 was the worst year for the 6.0 power stroke. Lots and lots of issues.
@@koreygregory527 the ficm ICP sensor front ends been rebuilt with a lift when I get it I have to send off the instrument cluster to have rebuilt for $200 I'll put a tuner on it make sure to keep an eye on the EGR valve and if it has any issues with plugging I'll delete it
It's a beautiful truck
What a BEAST.😃
Nice truck getting new motor put in my 2004 F-250
william aultman thanks that 6.0 is my cousins
Even will all the bad things said about the 6.0 after you drive one you got to have it. I'm a A&P mechanic so I know regular maintenance on anything goes a long way. I love all my Fords, the two mustangs the F150 and the F250, if Ford made a boat I'd buy one of those too.
MAXIMUSISADOG I would too!
Keep in mind it's not called bullet proofing he's only getting studs for that price. Bullet proofing cost me 10,000
Beautiful truck
Thanks!
Last week I purchased a 2003 f350 Lariat dually with 33000 miles stock. $16,300.
dam i love that black 6.0 I used too have and 03 white 6 speed manual trans dually 6.0 and and 05 exact same truck just dark stone color with tan.
Cody Baker it is pretty nice and only has 73k miles as an 05
My dad has the same one pretty much. 2006 lariat gold and black 2 tone. Egr delete other than that 100% stock just rolled 62k last year. Rebuilt turbo and shes fucking nice. Not a speck of rust on that thing and its been in Wisconsin its whole life
John Dziubinski nice!!!
Loving the videos so far. More 6.7 stuff!
David Lee Thanks! Don't worry, a lot more 6.7 stuff to come, and less 6.0. The 6.7 will be seen at the track in Bristol soon!
BlacknWhiteBuilds423 awesome. I love the 6.0 stuff too lol don't get me wrong. My truck is an 03 6.0. 187k not bulletproofed. Only deleted. Sct tuner with the looney tune and 4 inch straight pipe. I'm really thinking about making a channel.
David Lee we made ours as a fun hobby just happen to have a video with a lot of views lol it's fun I would recommend it to anyone to have a fun hobby
Great job
thank ya
What a BEAST
looks like a nice truck. That dent is just a good excuse for an 08 tail gate haha
Chris Zawacki very very true I'll definitely pass that on to him!
Chris Zawacki I personally like the older look better
Have the opportunity to buy an 04 f350 dulley with 144k miles, a few dings and dents ( I helped out some there),and vinyl interior. The 6 liter has already had the head bolts replaced with studs. You think $8000 is an ok price. I know the history of the truck, wasn’t beat on.
I bought a 06 F250 with 150k, absolutely love this truck! the truck is stock, but with me saying that, the egr cooler and turbo was replaced at 125k. I am a technician and haveinspected this truck from top to bottom and couldn't be happier! and for 12500!
Jeremy Clifton good to hear a happy 6.0 owner!
How's it running Jeremy? If you don't mind me asking of course. On the verge of buying an 2006 6.0 f350 181k 2 owners.
Kevin Joseph don't do it, these engines constantly have problems no matter how good you take care of them. Hope I saved you in time.
Should have put head studs in before a tuner
outdoordudes with the egr deleted you could run a light tune without studs
not really, the tuner will tell you if your oil cooler is good and within spec. so if you're in there doing studs and don't do the failing oil cooler.....
Absolutely, stud it before you Tune it
I have an 06 6.0 with 122,000 miles , best truck I've ever owned . No problems except the ficm going out .. my fault though I let my batteries run low . Other than that awesome truck !!!!!!
Gill R good to hear!
Daamn that's a nice log looking house.
Thanks!
Nice house
congrats on 10k veiws and counting
Wes Smith thank ya!
I have an 06 f250 lariat, 4x4, 6.0 with 103k on it for sale right now, $18,000. In better condition than this truck, and stock, except for blue spring kit, coolant cap, upgraded stock turbo, and leveling kit. Great truck, just don't need it anymore.
Hey throw the mpg into the conversation plz stick vs delete vs future work done. You da man keep it up
bigdaddyitalia22 I will definitely do that on the next truck Vlog that has his truck in it. I'll go ahead and ask him tomorrow what the difference is as of now and comment it later tomorrow.
BlacknWhiteBuilds423 you da man
bigdaddyitalia22 he said he's gone from about 15 mpg to about 18 mpg (mix of City/Interstate driving) Granted he lays into the pedal a good amount of the time. My 04 6.0 with a 8 inch lift on 37's could get into the 20's pretty easily on average. It was deleted, tuned, big injectors, and built trans, so there is some difference but you can easily get 20 if you're not always laying into it.
BlacknWhiteBuilds423 you are the man thank you keep up all the awesome ness I'll fallow along
bigdaddyitalia22 thank ya Sir! We just upgraded computers and getting new editing software so better quality is coming soon. Also for more updates on when we're posting our IG is the same name as the channel.
That’s a good deal for that truck
I own a 2011 6.7 powerstroke and I was wondering did you have your bumpers paint matched or vinyl wrapped? I want to match mine before i put on wheels. then deletes next! (which I cant wait to do) only 3 more months of warranty lol.
Josh Ansin since mines a platinum, my bumpers came painted from factor. I've seen chrome bumpers chip a lot when painted so I would prob wrap them.
Simple do the maintaince properly or ahead of time. All I have seen at work (6.0) have over 300k on them all stock without bulletpfoofing. Key word maintenance, egr gets plugged up remove and clean it if you ignore it guess what you blow headgaskets. Ya you shouldn't have to but. I own one with 200 k on it and it's bone stock. Once you start to modify them you put extra pressure on the systems and guess what ka boom
Let your cousin know to watch it close, they say when add a tunner it could affect head gaskets too. I have a 2004 f250 with 24000 miles on it, put 5" exhaust, sct tuner, cold air. within 6 months or so had to do head gaskets. That was after I pulled my travel trailer.
Just still be cautious.
Mark James will do thanks for the information.
Hey bud from a fellow Powerstroke (6.0) owner. Don't run too much tune without being studded. I personally have a 540hp 05 f250 4x4 Harley Davidson Edition.. they're great trucks , but coolant filter and studs are a must ( aside from what he's done already... good luck to the both of you ..stay strokin'
Jay Doucette he's turned goes tune back down until he can stud it. 👍
You don't need a coolant filter if you do an EGR delete. I switched to Cat ELC to avoid the problem.
Andrew B I got both better safe than sorry that oil cooler can still clog with debri and rust
Hey I’m thinking about getting the same truck as you. It’s lifted and has 37s on it with 180k miles. It’s been bulletproofed. I was wondering how much money I would be spending on maintenance for this truck. Its going to be my first vehicle so I don’t have just a ton of money to throw into the truck all the time. How much money do you spend on your per year? And would you recommend this truck?
I just scored a 04 f350 with 74000 miles for $15,000 super stoked to
I bought an 03 with 140k miles super crew 4wd for 3200
Just bought an 2006 F450 Dually with 45k miles it’s getting bulletproofed right now. It’s a single cab with utility bed. Anything else I should do besides cosmetics?
Trey_Dizzle after studs you should be ok but just depends
Bought an 05 350 cab and chassis. Head gaskets are bad but i bought it super cheap for $1,400
Shouldn't you re-do the head studs on a 6.0 power stroke before you tune it so you don't blow the heads? Very awesome truck though man I love it.
depends if you want 750hp you'll blow heads ether way, if you old man it (you can still pull stuff) use ford parts, coolant, and do you maintenance, you can leave it stock
Got my 04 6.0 for 10grand with 80k on the motor. Prepping the bank account for the delete and bullet proof
808supa43 wish I could find that deal I'd go get it right then
Great video! Quick question for you; i own a 2007 f250 xlt sport 6.0 since new and recently have been thinking of selling it.It has always been garaged and maintained and only has 13k.What do you think i should ask for it.Any help is appreciated
TheRhoadsscholar only 13,000 miles???? that's unheard of! I believe you could easily get about 25,000 for it, but im not an expert. Personally I would put it up for about 27,000 and see what you get off that. Only problem with trying to get that or more is someone could get a lot of nice trucks for that price range.
I had someone else tell me the same thing about the price range i might get for it.Yes,it is really low miles and looks showroom new.If someone just loves this body style and would like to customize it or keep it original they have a great truck that hasnt been beat on which is hard to find. Thanks for your help!
I may be interested...What color is it?
TheRhoadsscholar I'm just retagging you on this so you can see that someone asked about your truck.
Thanks for the retag. Its black in color and is a super cab with longbed with FX4 package
How much would be a fair offer on an 05 bullet proofed EGR deleted 6.0 lariat with 277,000 Miles ? They’re asking 17,000
Tyler Jameson I would go to NADA.com to find out. Technically speaking just because it has all that work done to it doesn't really actually add value to it, just reliability......
it's a nice truck, but unless you guys get a special discount or deal on labor cost of remaining bulletproofing that's needed, head studs alone are about 5g's, 100% full bulletproof: studs, head gaskets, egr delete, oil cooler, mishimoto radiator, optional coolant filter system, you're looking at a minimum of 8g's!
Was your cousin able to get rid of the SEL light - EGR insufficient flow, after the delete and if so how did he do it?
JackiBlue the CEL light? yes, and he had a shop doe all the work and delete the EGR to fix that problem.
SEL = Service Engine Light (same thing)
So the shop reprogrammed the ECM? There is only 2 ways i know of to get rid of the EGR insufficient Flow code after the delete 1. Reprogram the ECM or 2. Spoof the EGR valve somehow so it sends correct signal to the ECM.
After i had my EGR deleted, the light came on about 3 days later. Been living with it ever since and it drives me nuts. I could send the ECM to FICMrepair.com, have them do it for 100bucks but hate to have my truck down. I keep looking for another way.
Thanks,
JackiBlue he has his SCT tuner on it which has reprogrammed it and it's cleared the code as of now and hasn't come back on.
Hey black and white builds I was just kidding buddy
Blowing smoke is not good for longevity. Making power should be clean. All it’s doing is injecting tons of fuel that cannot be burned. Leading cause of engine failure and soot production.
How do you get it to ROLL COAL?? I just bought mine a month ago. I have a EDGE ATTITUDE tuner. The things that have been Bulletproofed are oil cooler ficm and egr. Thx for your help!!
Guy Ramsden to be perfectly honest if the truck is properly tuned it won't blow as much smoke. You normally only get a lot of smoke if it's bad box Tunes or you have injector or Turbo upgrades.
Expect about 20 k in repairs
so for that truck was 20k a decent deal? literally just got a bone stock 06 f-350 dually crew cab 4x4 71k miles for $20500. lariat edition but the guy put king ranch seats in it.
Duramax-fan man that sounds sounds like the exact same deal and that's what NADA says they're worth for the year and milage
What components would you recommend to do first as far as upgrades? Thanks. I have 07 6.0 250
Charles Sagers do full deletes to take the extra stain off the engine that they cause. Then possibly studs if needed.
Slaven 131 yes sir, I bought this truck about 20 months ago. Items I’ve changed are ficm, egr valve, ebp sensor , air filter, batteries and fuel filters. (It’s not my primary truck) the problem is that at start up there is immediate white smoke out of the tail pipe. Doesn’t clear up. Long story short, I’ve decided to save up for a complete Bulletproof. I called Bulletproof Diesel in Az. For an idea of cost. 12k give or take.. the big labor items are left (if you change one, you should change the other items)egr cooler, high pressure oil pump, oil cooler, head studs etc. I’m in Texas. It has 126 k miles. Any thoughts, thanks
Big picture thinking: I want to “fix” it right. I want reliability and confidence in this truck. Do you know a vehicle shipper that you can recommend? Texas to Arizona. I’m planning on doing the Bulletproof next June. Thanks for your time
Slaven 131 sorry for jumping around. I said that it smokes immediately on start up and doesn’t go away. Also it doesn’t get hot or have a loss of coolant. I don’t want to damage it by not taking it serious. Every video seems to make me think that they are talking about my truck. LoL. Anyway in 3 months I’ll have my money together for the Bulletproof Job
Slaven 131 it’s a 2007 Super Duty 6.0 4x4 crew cab longbed. 126 k miles. I don’t care where I have it “fixed “ so much as I want it to be reliable for travel across the country. Thanks for your opinion. I’d rather not spend 5 grand and have to turn around and then have to do a large repair, when I could have had it repaired the first time. LoL, you should know that my wife is influential.lol if you know what I mean. So you don’t think bpd is the way to go ? I know that if you’re into the engine far enough to change the egr cooler, then you may as well change the oil pump, oil cooler, water pump, head studs and gaskets etc just because of the labor. I’d like your opinion on the components that you would change to get me to the piece of mind I’m trying to achieve
what does it cost to have it bullet proof a6.o
Depending on if you know the mechanic or not..... 4-6 thousand
Plz more of your cousin's truck
Jimmy D his truck is in one of the recent videos
Great video, I just purchased a 05 f250. I purchased it off of a older guy that bought it new. it has 170k miles, he did the age delete, rebuild the ficm, and replaced 3 injectors. What do I need to delete so I won't have any issues
Cesar Lopez for the most part EGR delete is the main thing I've been informed of other than putting head studs, but im not a mechanic to say 100% what is your best route.
head studs are not entirely necessary unless you are wanting to crank out high HP with a tune. Best to test the coolant system and make sure it is not over pressuring, which would mean your head gaskets are bad and heads are warped. To do this see if the degas bottle has pressure in it when the engine is completely cold. if it does you have a problem, if not your good. Also can buy the bubbler kit from bulletproof diesel to test it. Injectors will give you problems at some point, so watch them closely. And it is also a good idea to do a complete coolant flush with vc-9 or restore to clean out the oil cooler,
Have you ever back flushed an oil cooler? Also, do any additives help injectors not going bad? I do not plan on adding any tunner to my truck
for the most part on 6.0s the main thing to do is EGR delete, change Oil cooler(they've been updated since the truck first came out), and I recommend a coolant filtration just to help keep the oil cooler clear. Asides from that just your basic coolant flush and other maintnance. edm is right about head studs not being entirely necessary, its mainly a supporting mod for a more power.
also if the truck hasnt had it done already, look into checking injector pressures. from factory 6.0s tend to drop pressure which is a bad thing for the injectors. ford released a blue spring kit a while back to help increase pressure to the injectors. in a perfect world 60 psi, give or take a couple psi AT WOD throttle, is where you want to be.
worth more than 22k now!
Hows it running today in life?
My cousin sold it to a guy out of state when he got married, so honestly not sure…
how to buy a 6.0, spend like 4500 bucks on a shitter and use it for a year and then part it out when it blows and get yer money back then do it again
If u guys paying 20k I'm selling mine for 10 if anyone interested comment 2005 white lariat no studs the motor was stolen and replaced by Ford ! 2011 still has markings I'll post vid soon
its not a full 5 in ex if it is its the first one it would not fit a f 250 f 350 ! 4 in is it du
I have not personally measured the pipe all the way from the engine, but the back section is 5 inch. The exhaust tip on it is a 5 to 7 inch tip that came off my 5 inch straight pipe.
yea its 4 buddy unless you cut the cab the firewall
easy there warrior its a 4 inch downpipe into a 5 inch pipe nothing to cut firewall too
bosna917 correct Sir. I didn't mean my reply to seem offensive, if that reply was to me, my bad if it seemed that way lol
Let me show you show to waste money on 6.0 mods ALWAYS head studs and o ring the heads before tuning it rolling coal is just fuel out the tail pipe just because it makes smoke doesn’t mean it’s reliable
Rolling smoke just annoys other drivers around you, and around here makes you a target for the law. It's to pickup drivers what crotch rockets are to serious motorcycle riders. I can put too much fuel through a lawn mower to make it smoke.
Dont ever tune without headstuds jesus or ficum or well shit to late now
Bought mine for 6k perfect inside bulletproof for 3700hundo 150k now 200000
check out Powerstrokehelp.com I got my 6.0 dealer proof along with all of Bullet Proof Diesel 6.0 parts. it runs like a dream
ALWAYS A WARRIOR they over charge for cheap ass parts... you could get heads ten times better for the same price at any reputable shop
I can’t believe something this old is $20k
why do most people build these backwards...... studs go first.
"Haven't done the studs yet but we did the egr delete and a tuner"
You shouldn't have paid 20k
A 6.0 is only good when you put 4-6 grand into it. You do that to any engine and it will run forever. From the factory, the 6.0 is the worst diesel you can possibly buy. That's why they are so cheap.
Majority of the issues arise due to bad maintenance
Some people have had ZERO problems with their bone stock 6.0 others obviously not so much. The better years to buy are 05 thru 07
6.4, lb7, 6.5 are just 3 that are way worse than a 6.0. 6.0s are not Bad. Children and those who don’t know how to do maintenance are who give these a bad wrap. Do more research before you spout misinformation.
soooo is anyones grandpa selling a 4 door 6.0l? lmfao
It is beyond me why anyone would want their truck to "blow smoke". I have an 05, 6liter as well. All stock, not tunes. Low km's for a diesel - 268,000. Had the turbo and oil cooler cleaned when I first bought it over years ago with 165,000km's. I can't justify a big truck just like most people can't. But "blowing smoke " is just over the top for silliness. WHY? Diesel owners should care about environmental issues as well.
South Hill Farm one of my first videos I blew some to show people since they asked but stated blowing smoke isn't my thing, but that's just me lol
Cool. I don't want to sound like a tree hugger. But, there is a lot of good to say about people taking responsibility for noise levels and pollutants. a diesel owner can make a better statement by keeping an older rig in really good condition. reuse is an environmental statement and says a lot about an owner that they care about their ride.
I agree with clean tuning, the whole point of a Diesel is efficiency, and why i bought one. I still run a EGR cooler, but upgraded style, guess a lot of Diesel owners now days have small feet lol
When I first got into diesel. We didn’t have smog regulations. Through idiots blowing smoke everywhere not only did we get smog inspections but it didn’t start current year it went all the back into the late 90’s. Thanks guys!!
You got a beautiful place body
R Coronado thank ya buddy! We've moved to something newer now but plan on getting some land like that again one day
When buying a 6.0 powerstroke step 1 buy a cummins! step 2 change oil and fuel filter step 3 put diesel in it step 4 put it to work!!! Step 5 laugh at all the idiots who bought a 6.0 and and had dump loads of money in it to get it run like it should!! step 6 if you cant find a cummins skip to step 7 buy a 7.3 powerstroke and repeat steps 2 through 5!
Step 8 go on CZcams and troll everyone who doesn't have a cummins.
I thought it was funny!! yall get to but hurt about brand loyalty! I wasnt trolling but ok
hmm... dont recall saying anything bad about the 7.3 but in reality they are slow and my 5.9 will walk off on a 7.3! 7.3s are slow! 6.0 does out preform a 7.3 just takes 7k to do it! all in all your 7.3 wouldnt spank my 5.9
Clocker 1 is it a common rail? because if it's just a 24 valve or 12 valve second gen you will get owned by a 7.3.
You forgot step 8 when buying a Cummins: develop a good relationship with your local transmission shop and body shop....you'll see them soon enough when your garbage tranny takes a shit and your clearcoat comes off.
