    Did anyone try Chemical Guys Silk & Shine Protectant?

    Motul shine and go hands down best thing I have found for the black plastics on my GP they still shine like the day I got it off the show room floor this is more of a proactive deal but have seen it restore faded black plastics. Also works great as an engine bay protectant usually hose down the engine bay every 3-4 rides then fog the engine bay with it no rust yet and I ride Texas gulf coast.

    I use ceramic coating on black plastic, it’s semi permanent(2-3years)and leaves a deep rich black color but not too glossy, it has way better UV protection than any temporary solution, it’s basically like a layer of clear coat

      @@watercraftjournal I recommend CarPro Cquartz UK 3.0, easily the best consumer grade ceramic coating, unlike paint surface you need to wipe it off, on plastic surface you just wipe it on and leave it for 24 hours

    I use meguiars supreme shine hi gloss protectant on my ultra. The coconut smell is like a tropical island . Or maybe its because i live in western Washington that it works well for me.

    You said you use the Meguiar's Hot Shine Foam on you raw black plastics, but does it have UV protectant? Obviously there is a big difference between making the plastics "look" good and actually protecting them from degradation. My biggest concern is on my 19 FX, the sponson's, as even with the factory cover on, they are exposed to the sun/UV.

    • @watercraftjournal
      @watercraftjournal  Před 2 lety +1

      It's minor, but yes. There's obviously far better, more dedicated protectants out there. We were just giving an example.
