    DATR, good shooting with that Eley, I just picked 500 rounds of CCI-STD for $49.99 "new lot "
    and shoots pretty good out of my 82G, as you see the $27 bricks are a thing of the past !!
    I assume things will settle down in the near future something like $35-$40 for a brick but
    you'll never see $27 anytime soon.

    I can tell you love to shoot as I do. From an Old almost Marine to an old Ex-Marine if I live close to you I would be proud to have you shoot my 455 trainer or 457 varminter CZ`s Or my Anshutz 1416 AV THX. I have done a little Bench rest shooting and it seems besides the rifles you have the bullets and the lead on those bullet may be a little out of balance weight wise. I have many bricks of those CCI standard velocity however they don`t have a date or price tag on them. They maybe as old as 2014 but I can`t say for sure. Keep up the good videos.

    I wear reading glasses, but I like to leave the glasses off and adjust the scope to my eye only.
    When I am shooting with iron sights I wear the glasses and I try to turn my head so I am looking more straight ahead instead of out of the corner of my eye.

    So I feel it would be more consistent to shoot from left to right rather then up to down . My thinking is ; that jacking the stand up and down is a less uniform process versus staying on the same row and then jacking the stand..

    • @henrykuhn5096
      @henrykuhn5096 Před 2 lety

      I agree, I shoot the USBR 25 bull target, 5 rows of 5 bulls. Much simpler and consistent to shoot left to right.

    Thanks and I enjoy your videos. Nice shooting. You'll never get your best from those wonderful guns with cci standard. Although I really enjoy shooting cci standard ( I keep several bricks on hand) it is not a match ammo. My 457 can do sub 1/2 moa groups at 100 yards with good match ammo but cci just can't compete.
    It's hard to compare two rifles with less than ideal ammo. Not dissing CCI standard but just my observation. Thanks again.

    • @D70340
      @D70340 Před 3 lety +1

      CCI-SV is alot better than bulk ammo by far. I buy all i can, because its far cheaper than MATCH ammo. (and i`m feeding my wife`s 22 hobby too)
      I dont shoot major competition, nore will i ever, so CCI-SV works fine for plinking, for me, in my CZ457LUX.
      My wife shoots CCI-SV in her Ruger American rimfire, that gun LOVES it.

    "That was terrific Eli...just look at the improvement over the last video."
    Try not to race the clock, just shoot like each shot is the only shot you get all day. Remember 'OS-OK' - 'One shot - one kill'.
    One thing I have noticed with the Caldwell rests...if I don't lock the mariners screw (elevation) my rest will have some wobble, it's not really 'rock solid' steady...that can be part of your flier problem. I don't lock the mariners screw down 'tight', I just snug the lock nob lightly & that takes any wobble from the rest.
    A good friend over on CastBoolits, 'tazman' mentioned that just .005" of barrel movement will translate to about 1/2" @ 50 yards. (don't hold me to that number, I'm going off memory) so it behooves us to take every measure we can to eliminate our problems with the rest and especially our 'cheek weld'... You got it going lil'Brother! ... charlie

    I like your "no-fly zone" target. On another note, when picking the best ammo for a rimfire (or center-fire, for that matter), 50 or 100-shot groups will tell you the most. I'd like see a video on that. Nice video, good work.

    • @Dayattherange
      @Dayattherange  Před 2 lety

      Phillip are you saying 50 and 100 yard groups of the same ammo? I have other video's of 50 yard groups and a couple of 100 yards. Try to hit the 100yards when it is less windy.

    • @JoeWayne84
      @JoeWayne84 Před 2 lety

      @@Dayattherange he’s saying shoot the whole box out of a case of ammo and see how good that case of ammo should be . If you do that between 10 cases then use the best case for your competition ammo or get a idea of there was a off day at the factory and 4 out of 100 have 5% less charge or primer consistency.

    Your zero seems to be off, IMO. When shooting match sticks, I zero POA/POI at he distance needed, then proceed to shoot score. (Sorry, have only shot live flies off targets, so may need to make some of your targets to practice.) Good shooting, for sure. Don't have a CZ to compare, but my Savage BTV will give any rifle a run for the money, but it only shoots RWS with any consistent accuracy. My Ruger Precision does like CCO/std, but it isn't as accurate as the Savage. Still, a great little rifle for the money. Fun watching your vids, so please keep doin' what you're doin'.
