    What's most impressive is they managed to scale the power, talent and experience across the 3 main force users of season 2. Grogu is obviously talented, but he lacks training. Ahsoka is also talented, well trained and experienced, but had to fight tactically to overcome significant numbers of enemies. Skywalker is the most powerful jedi to have ever lived. Even with less experience and training than Ahsoka, he is still considerably stronger and comfortably holds his own, to the point where he just effortlessly glides through the enemy, crushing all who try to harm him or others. Ahsoka is wise and powerful, it is foolish to fight her. Skywalker is virtually unstoppable, defeat is a near certainty, regardless of numbers and firepower.

    I love the difference between the fighting styles of Luke and Ahsoka. With the Togruta you have the twirling, graceful forms taught to perfection by the Jedi at the height of their power and sophistication during the time of the late republic; acrobatic, aesthetic and flowing like water - but also possibly *too* formalized and self-indulgent. On the other hand, we have the almost brutishly aggressive style of partially self-taught Skywalker - largely unrefined and workmanlike, but also direct and efficient; where technique fails raw power and matchless talent will carry the day.
    Both are highly talented and both are tempered by experience, yet what each arrived at is fundamentally different.

    Wanna know what makes the Force work in this show and why it doesn't in the Disney Sequel Trilogy? Underplaying it.
    This is, admittedly, an issue that Star Wars has had for a while but one problem with TDST is how OP it is there where characters to amazing things that are likely NEVER GOING TO BE DONE AGAIN. Force Projection, unlikely. Force Dyed? Traditional Force bonds are less convoluted. Super Force Lighting, not a chance. Learning how to use the Force in less then two days when other characters need a few years at least? The Mandalorian has already pointed out why that's contrived.
    One of the things I like about the Prequel, the Clone Wars, the Original Trilogy and the Thrawn Trilogy is that while the Force gives you a great advantage in combat it doesn't make you a God. Take a good Star Wars story where the Jedi were SUPER OP, the 2D Clone Wars series. In that show we had Jedi literally destroying whole armies with their bare hands and it was so over the top that Vol. 2 had to town it DOWN and it was still silly. If the Jedi are this powerful why bother with a Clone Army at all, they can just destroy it in under a weak.
    Attack of the Clones and The Clone Wars showed that as tough as a Jedi is they aren't THAT powerful and need an army to fight an army. To quote Qui-Gon "I can only protect you. I can't fight a war for you."
    Now I give 2D CW a pass because EVERYTHING was OP and Over the Top it's part of that shows charm and wouldn't be the same without it and obviously it was great otherwise we never would have gotten the 3D series. And 2D CW also stuck to what was established in the films (Force Push/Pull, Lightning, Force Jump and even Force Sprint) instead of introducing new powers that can only be used once because (insert contrived reason here).
    While Luke, Ahsoka and Grogu are powerful the opponents they're going up against are ones who've not seen a Force User in a while and everything they do is a rather standard power. The one exception is the bit where Grogu uses the Jedi rock... thing... to contact Luke and I do find that a little weird but it still makes more sense the Force Projection idea which is SO STUPID!!! Seriously that's more lethal to the user then taking a bolt of Force Lightning to the Face.
    But yeah, I like how the Mandalorian underplays the Force instead of turning it into this Deus Ex Machina plot device that does whatever the plot needs it to do at that moment. Again, this is an issue that has happened in other Star Wars stories WAAAY before Disney entered the picture (Jedi's could FLY and I think even shot FIRE).

    • @stephenvargas5806
      @stephenvargas5806 Před 3 lety +2

      It’s not so much under played but subtle. Luke Skywalker ran through Droids that were as close to indestructible in the Star Wars universe as possible, not just one but a platoon. Contrast that with Mando who really couldn’t handle one. In canon we’ve never seen a Jedi crush something that was blaster proof but Luke did it effortlessly. It doesn’t go out of its way to beat you over the head but the two fights clearly show you that Jedi’s are OP and Luke truly is the Grandmaster now. The droids in the Clone wars except for the really special types were cheap junk, in TPM Gungans were fist fighting them and winning.

      Lightsabers just deflect shots. Jedi’s just have extremely potent reflexes/Precognition. Depending on the lore they can also sense aggressiveness /hostile intent. But I don’t know the specifics about that pertaining to Droids. A lot of the lore changes depending on if you’re talking current canon, or EU/legends.

He takes on and defeats the equivalent of an entire Star Destroyers security force in close-quarters aboard a starship, using nothing but a lightsabre and the Force. Apart from Yoda, if the Jedi post-Empire ever had a Grandmaster? He's it.

    Why didn't Ahsoka pull the lady from the wall at the very start of the episode using the Force ? Why didn't she use the Force at all against that same lady at the end of the episode, pinning her to the ground ? Both of these actions would have ended things in a minute. -_-' That always bugged me (happened alot also in Clone Wars and Rebels) : Jedi whom can easily handle situations with the Force, but who don't because the plot has to happen somehow (instead of giving them a proper challenge, the series creator just make them forgetful of their powers when it suits them >

    • @Aqarzy
      @Aqarzy Před 3 lety

      I would honestly believe trying to pin down people with the force would be an act of the dark side of the force. Like in Clone Wars how Sidious pins down and toys with other people using his dark side capabilities. Other than that... I’m not sure. But keep in mind, Jedi are almost nothing without a lightsaber. It’s their primary and soul weapon to handle situations.

    • @Aqarzy
      @Aqarzy Před 3 lety

      If you also see Grogu/Baby Yoda’s force capabilities when he pins down and force chokes the storm troopers, you can clearly see Grogu starting to unlock the dark side because he was so frightened.

    • @lucressei3717
      @lucressei3717 Před 3 lety

      @@Aqarzy I would disagree with that. After all, Jedi are all about capturing adversaries wilst harming them as little as possible. And pinning an adversary down with the force or putting them in a kind of stasis, would be a non-lethal way of doing that. Much better than hitting, kicking, chopping off an arm, etc. A lightsaber would always cause much more harm, and be more violent, than just immobilizing your foe with the Force.

    • @lucressei3717
      @lucressei3717 Před 3 lety +1

      @@Aqarzy And choking is different. x) I'm not saying Ahsoka should crush her adversaries. xD Just pin them down. Like a "Force Judo Move" if you will. Invinsible arms restraining the target. ^^
      But no, it's lightsaber. Always lightsaber, forgetting even the most simple uses of telekinesis. That's what bothers me. >< Besides, Ahsoka isn't even supposed to be a Jedi anymore at this point of the story so her code should be a little looser (not that pinning an opponent down should be cosidered dark anyways).

      they actually do have force scenes having precognition when using the force that's why when obi and Anakin where flipping there light sabers alot trying to bait/fake out one another they use this ability mainly as a defense but it has been shown that stronger force users can completely see the future.

      If you're going to include things like force precognition or other relatively passive enhancements, then in a similar video for the phantom menace you'd end up including the entirety of anakin's pod race because he's using force-enhanced reactions there. This is obviously incorrect. Therefore, as per the same logic, this video has a lot of superfluous content.
