- When I read Fallenleaves story I was heart broken, like I literally hold my tears during working on this, I cant think of a more horrible and terrifying death than dying alone, in the dark, drowned. I love you Fallenleaves you deserved better

I feel like everyone kind of forgets how sad of a death fallenleaves succumbed to.
And then the poor dude still didnt find any peace until however many decades(centuries?)later. And I'd imagine most of his family has since faded, so he might not even have been reunited with them. He's got to be one of the most tragic characters in the books tbh

Part of me thinks that Rock let Fallen Leaves die. He could have led him to one of the exsist or warned him but it didn't. He let Fallen die....
He did ask Fallen if it was going to rain when he first got to the tunnels, so I don't think he deliberately let Fallen die
It was part of the trial and Fallen knew that going in when it's about to rain was dangerous, but he lied to Rock and said the weather was fine. In a way, yes Rock could have saved him, but you know these cats and their dumb pride and stupid rules. It was either he gets out on his own(with no help) and becomes a sharp claw, or dies trying. Those are their rules.

@@cozmicdoodles7167 Its also stated multiple times in the books and just generally known that cats can smell rain coming, and the Erins really made sure to drive home how sharp the senses of blind cats are (like Jayfeather.) Rock would know if it was raining, also because he, y'know, _lives in those caves._ If he couldn't tell when the rain was coming, _he'd_ drown, which is something I think a lot of people forget. He most certainly let Fallen Leaves drown, also taking into account the fact that he's a cat who's lived for such a long time I'm sure he gave a rats ass about how many cats he saw die (he didn't actually participate, his only real involvement was marking the stick and talking to them like he did Fallen Leaves.)

Exactly! It has its sad moments, its happy moments, and even intense moments! Thats what I like in a book! Excitement!

Ehhh. Disagree. I loved this series as a kid but it is mostly just a cute little kid’s book. There are exceptions, of course. Even the worst of media has their tiny moments of decent writing, but Fallenleave’s story is one of those exceptions. Everything else would be exciting for a 5th grader, but not for an older teen/adult.

I always felt super bad for Broken Shadow (Fallen Leaves’ mom). She was already worried when he entered the tunnels and was destroyed when she found out he was dead. Great animation as always!
She probably waited her whole life for her son to come back, he never came home.

I was extremely sad about Fallenleaves' death. It was really Unfair.
Poor Fallen Leaves. Makes me sad how he tried to be a tribe's equivalent of a warrior by proving himself, and died trying to achieve it. Walking in those tunnels forever until Hollyleaf came must've been lonely.
The "i did what i was supposed to. Thats not fair." Is so sad. Hes so confused and worried. Hes begging for Rock to help, but he just watches him slowly drown.
I've always loved fallen leaves as a character. He didn't deserve to die alone in the dark. I 100% Agree with you. He's such a sweet boi and I really wish he could've survived
Warrior Cats isn’t Warrior Cats without the best characters dying.
Knowing the audio, and then seeing the title, I was aware of what I was going to see. Doesn't mean it stopped me from getting hit pretty hard in the heart when I saw him crying.
I'm a fan of the Warrior's series, but I haven't read many of the books. Your channel is helping me catch up with the deaths and whatnot of the series
Edit: also I love the style of your content. exploring the darker side of the series with a VHS like style is soo good

This is so sad…Also, with Rock being there it also remind me of when he is also (kinda) let Flametail die as well. Poor Jayfeather still haunted by that event in the current arc…

@@bi-biwolf Fallen was a dumb kid who wanted to prove he was strong to the people he looked up to. That does not mean he deserved to die and be forced to walk around as a ghost for all eternity probably reliving his death for most of that time.

The “I did what I was supposed to. That’s not fair.” Just broke me down into tears. It literally broke me mentally. Also, your art style is very good. I don’t think I’ve seen anybody draw the cats as good as you do. It can be a mix of horrifying and wholesome but I think unsettling is the word. I think if you did some sort of challenge with drawing creepy things, you would win. With snow’kits death lost footage and this video combined would make my worst nightmare. I think you are probably one of the best warrior cats artist there is 100% and I hope you continue to make me cry! 👍

In that last shot the sadness in Fallenleave's eyes kills me. I've never felt so in sync with a character before they meet their fate, and this video made me feel like I was drowning too...

never read the books, don't really know the story, so that "why is it still raining" part felt like i was hit by a truck... truely amazing
Um, if I remember right, the older cat tribe that used to live in the lake territory had this trial involving going through a tunnel system in order to be a full fledged warrior. The old blind cat who guards the tunnels is named rock, and a young cat, Fallen Leaves, was excited to finally prove himself by completing the trial. Everyone in the tribe knew, if it was rainy, you can't do the trial. So before the trails Rock asks, "how's the weather?/ Is it going to rain?" Fallen Leaves knew it was about to rain, but wanted so badly to do his trial he lied and said "fair weather, no signs of rain." So Rock allowed him into the tunnels. Well, it started raining, and Fallen Leaves quickly found out why the trial gets postponed: the tunnels flood. And it's pitch black, no amount of night vision would help. Fallen Leaves got lost in the labyrinth and drowned in the darkness. Rock made another notch on his stick

Always felt so bad for Fallen Leaves. Just thinking of his sad little ghost, still trapped in the caves he'd died in and probably bound there by his own trauma and despair. Realizing that he'd finally been able to leave the tunnels in the final OOTS book made me so happy even though that moment was kind of sad too.

Oh, i was listening to this half an hour ago, it was sad, and now it's even more so.
Darkness presses against you. The sound of the river beckons faintly behind you, but you can’t find it. You’ll never find it. You’re lost, every tunnel is familiar yet so heartbreakingly new. How do you get back to river? A wail for help climbs desperately in your chest, but you crush it. You’re no kit. You press forward into the sprawling tunnels, but yet the sound of the river doesn’t fade. Actually, does it sound... louder? You grit your teeth and push on, choosing paths at spontaneous forks with thinking numbed by claustrophobia. The river is really loud now. You can hear raindrops slapping aggressively against the top of the tunnels, and you know it must be a downpour. You pick up the pace a little, casting the occasional uneasy glance over your shoulder. You feel your eyelids grow heavy with exhaustion but your legs won’t let you stop. You’re running. You’re running and running and your heart is slamming horridly against your ribs and there’s water up to your elbows now. Why is there so much water? Where did it come from? The river, you think. It’s up to your chest, splashing frothily at your sides and tossing you at the narrow walls. You buckle and thrash out with your legs, swimming as your mama taught you to so long ago. Did she know it would ever serve such use? No, no, she was back at camp. She thought you would be back cozy in your nest tomorrow as a sharp claw. No. If your paws were still on the ground, it’d be up to your ears, but you were swimming, and you feared you would run out of space to draw in air soon enough. What do you do, what do you do? Somebody please help. You thrash your paws out as the roaring of the water is drowned out by what sounds like the cave collapsing. It’s not, but when you twist your head around, it’s worse. A foaming wall of water, mercilessly ramming against the stone walls as it rushed towards you. The water beneath you surges up and your ear tips brush the rock overhead. Horror. That’s the only emotion. That’s the only thing driving you to flail wildly with your paws and stretch your eyes as wide as you can get them. You let out a wild, frantic scream, but water floods your mouth. It slams against you. Your head hurts worse than it ever did as you get brutally thrown against the walls, as filthy water coats your fur with twigs and debris. You are dizzy. You are unconscious. And then, you are dead.
