How to Build a Shuffleboard Table [FREE PLANS]

This project has been on my to-do list since we built our house. It's something I have played in bars and always wanted in my home. Shuffleboard is a great game because the skill level of most players is not that far a part. Meaning, at a gathering, a newcomer and someone that has played for a while can still compete against one another.
When it came to building a shuffleboard table I knew the hardest task would be building the top. I looked at just purchasing a top that was already made but those get really expensive. After coming across the butcher block countertops sold at Home Depot, I realized this was going to be my nicest and most affordable option. If you want an even more affordable option consider a few layers of plywood with oaking flooring laid on the top and sides.

We kept finding we needed a folding table. This is so easy to store. czcams.com/users/postUgkxStL0QRChBju4aQlnTrRgBZvafFog0KU3 Opening and closing is easy as well. It has a great handle for carrying around the house. Its pretty lightweight and slides around easy. We bought it for our daughter’s first sleepover. Breakfast was a blur - but 12 7-8 year olds fit at the table with room to spare. We used it at thanksgiving and 6 adults fit comfortably on each side plus 2 on either end for a total of 8. Super easy to clean up afterwards as well.

Trying to build this now. In the plan you say to see the video for details on the climate adjusters, but the way you do the climate adjusters in the video are very different than in the plan. There's no T-nut in the plan, nor does the steel overlap at any portion in the plan. Would it be possible to get some clarity on which way this should be done?

I live in Japan and 5m length boards are common at wood places. Think : bar tops. I had zero problem building my shuffleboard table. Going with a split main board is silly however well it came out. It's far harder to level and make smooth. But your table looks spot on

Nice work, your instructions are nicely detailed. I am wondering if you could provide a little more detail on the leveling system though. I am not 100% I understand how it works particularly the function of the angle and hanger bolts. If you could provide a picture of the underside of that area that would be super helpful. Thanks!

Did anyone figure out this step in more detail? How does the butcher block get “pulled down”. What is the leverage point? Seems like the angled steel is driven up against the butcher block when the bolt is tightened.

I don’t know if total boat epoxy has changed since you did this video, but they strictly suggest you don’t use a power drill mixer. I of course, didn’t read those directions and ended up with 2 gallons of cloudy air, bubble epoxy, which was unusable and I had to dispose of. 😢

The nicest shuffleboard I've ever played on seemed to have the slightest bias toward the center such that you could curve a shot but pushing just toward the edge and it would come back. Does yours behave this way? Would it be possible with your setup? Also, a forstner bit may save you a bunch of fill and putty work next time around. ;)
