- The FlyByWire Team have ended the year on a high with their latest update to their A320 Neo aircraft with a stunning update the the cockpit. This is an update many people have called for and requesting to bring it more into line with its real world counterpart. Lots of other new little features have also been added as well making this one of the biggest A32NX updates for some time.

I fly the a32nx from day one and I'm stuck with it ( I do own the Fenix ).I am dedicated and grateful to FBW team, because, they unselfishly provide the sim community with a beautiful aircraft. Today's upgrade is yet another amazing offering to our community. Thank you FBW team !

I always loved the FBW, and it seems that this thing is improving more and more. To be honest, the only thing I miss for pure immersion is the capability to open all doors. That would make it complete.
for me i would love to see a cabin, i guess we shall have to wait for the ini a320 for that. Edit: 200th Like!

@andreab1604 I do own the Fenix. It costs 50+ bucks and is able to do RNAV. FBW is freeware, so I'd rather expect opening doors than specific approach procedures. It's a question of relation and realistic expectation setting. The FBW already offers much more than one could expect.

I fly the a32nx every day and have loved it from day one. The new cockpit is amazing the attention to detail is really good and the glare shield is so much better now. Not sure if the A380 will be released on Xmas day but I have my bravo throttle standing by just incase!! Merry Xmas to all.
Beware of bravo. I had to hanger mine due to worn reverser detents. I use TM captains pack. One can buy extra thrust levers to = 4 engines with captains pack. Still cheaper than bravo. Sadly bravo detents don't require rev paddles to be engaged (positive stop at idle) to move into rev area and they wear out.

This is by far the biggest update for some time I’m pleased the team at FBW are continuing the development of this fantastic plane it’s my go to every time 👨✈️👍
FBW are absolutely amazing ! this new flight deck is absolutely top notch work ! Now the wings still need some TLC but tbh I spend 99.9 percent of my time inside and this is already very much amazing !

Ah that’s such a brilliant addition - the cockpit geometry really spoiled it for me. Just need the separate operating FMGS MCDUs, now. But sure that will come with time. FBW is an amazing contributor to the sim world and I am so excited about the A380. Great stuff 🎉

Thanks for the report. Just updated. I don’t know what others think but I prefer the external PBR view of the FBW to the Fenix. A nice Crimbo present. All we need now is a PMDG 777 from Santa to make the year complete,, 👍👍😂😂
I love fBW, my only issue is the wing textures on the A320, love everything else about it though. Fingers crossed for the A380 sooner than later
Very good update. Personally, I prefer Fenix for its greater level of realism, but I do not forget that this plane is freeware. Great improvement!

Now just need a better 3d outside model, but that isnt as much of a problem as the cockpit was, will start flying it now.
I'm been flying last months at fs2020 alternating FBWA32NX and Fenix A320 as a virtual Pilot on A pilot's life 2 ,since it comes out F2crew Animated PO for both of them too.
I know that FBWA32NX still lack of Go Around Nav, RNAV fix approaches , secondary flight plan to make EOSID plans and whatever, but the inmersion using both on IVAO flying real schedule plans , and with Minicockpit , are fantastic and now i will keep on flying this beauty ( for quicks setup flights ( no EOSiD to program etc)

I honestly never noticed anything wrong with the old cockpit, didn't bother me a bit. I'm used to P3D, so it all looks amazing to me regardless.

great improvement! the previous version was so bad i could bring myself to use this aircraft ! what i cant understand is how the original one passed scrutiny before release, i mean how could any modeller come up with something so distorted. this is the problem with modellers who have never actually set foot in the cockpit of the real thing

i flew this update this evening, and it looks incredible! during the day, but night lighting was very overkill, i changed through the various lights throughout the cockpit and it seemed like lights were wither on... very bright and washing everything out. or off..... you cant really see anything
On their disocrd they said "As sort of a last surprise, we did something with the A32NX" so i dont think A380 will release this year

I think the pillar between the windows is too narrow. And the flap lever feels spongy, that was better before. But okay is a DEV Version.

I've done the last update and it's very beautiful...however, my setup for the thrustmaster TCA cadran does not work. I've tried to restore it with the flypad, same as usual but it doesn't work. I will try again and hope to find a solution.
Hi, I have a question : have you made a video about how to change your destination or arrival runway midflight, what do you do with the mcdu and how to do circles while waiting to land
Runway changes are 0retty much done in exactly the same way as you do when you're setting up your flight plan on the ground.
As for circling, you can enter a hold at any point or way point using the FPLN page, then select a waypoint (using LEFT line side key) and then press HOLD.
Gavin, thank you for this update, for everyone still having a moan about FBW let's see what you can do, this is a free aircraft not a £49.99 Fenix.
I, for one, applaud the FBW team for what they have achieved, there are payware aircraft that are really terrible in comparison to FBW.

Is there any evidence suggesting that the A380X will be released on Christmas day? Where does this rumor come from?
Can somebody comment on this? other than with FENIX / PMDG 737 I have performance stutters with the FBW A320 ?and the strangest thing is ….they build up during the flight and are worst on approach?
I can see and select the plane in the menu, but in the game it is invisible. Wonder what I'm doing wrong?

I’m having troubles with this aircraft. The stable version works perfectly but has no T/d marker while the development version has but the engines won’t startup.
I can't get it, I still see the INOP sign near the terrain ND button. I am on version 0.11.1 and no able to update :( Is it in the development branch already?

I really must give Airbus a try. Always used Boeing so there is a lot to learn. I did once try the FBW and found it difficult when using TrackIR to push/pull various knobs on the glareshield. With the various detents on the throttle does this mean there is no full manual throttle control if hand flying? Eg full forward for max thrust, back for engine idle?
I fly both Boeing and Busses, they are pretty similar, just a few differences
Seems intermitently I cannot start the Engines ? it goes on for weeks then something gets updated and suddenly engines start ?
Any thoughts ? I have eliminated all COMMUNITY additions except the A32 nx modules.
Maybe the Fenix is less quirky ... ?

Rw pilot and instructor here. Would love to see an aircraft 80-90% completed before moving on to next aircraft (fbw 380). This has been a problem with all devs for last 20 years. Drives me crazy. The only dev i know on all platforms that completes is Aerobask on XP platform. Asobo is the worst. They need "closer" coders that do pick up lists. They just say, "good nuff" at 70% complete, and move on. Still waiting fo Longitude cabin, for example. Many other examples on request.

But still no independent MCDU's. I can only think it hasn't been implemented after all this time due to frame rate issues, if so that doesn't bode well for the sea of glass that's the A380.

I have a question…
I fly FS2020 since its 1st release, and of course using FBW A32NX a soon as it’s been available. Then I flew FENIX which was better but I stopped flying due to personal reason.
I am now back in the sim and don’t know the evolution of both FENIX and FBW.
Can you tell me what would be your choice, your preference, regardless the price, between these two aircraft, because I want to fly only one of these !

For more realism, I'd still use the Fenix.
Never fly the FBW….just the Fenix. After the fenix, just never had a reason to fly another one

Excellent video. However, it's the only Airbus/Flyby wire that's invisible when I load it. Maybe someone on the internet can show, me an easy fix.

I don't know why I get these little tiny micro stutters with the flyby wire a320. I don't get them with the PMDG 737 series, Fenix and I even don't get it with the Headwind A330 which shares systems with the flybywire. I'm on a 4080, 64 gigs of memory with a 5800 x3D cpu
I have the same issue ….I have no micro stutters with other airliners in MSFS …the strangest thing is …stutters build up during the flight and are worst on approach…

That cockpit was the sole reason I couldn't touch that aircraft with a 10-foot pole. It didn't matter what wonders FlyByWire did, and bless their hearts they've done such wonderful improvements which I cherished, but that cockpit was a HUGE dealbreaker for me, that and that of the previous SR22. These 2 aircraft, I swore to never fly until they were changed, and I haven't even recovered from the absolute joy of the new SR22T G6, and now this? Boy am I so happy indeed!

Nobody needs the Fenix A320. I will always keep to FBW. Its just fantastic, now Even more. Thank you guys for that great work and Merry Christmas to everyone🎄🍀
The glareshield looks awfully disproportionate. It seems like the cockpit is too stretched vertically and the eye position indicator looks atrociously small and skewed. I’ll stick with the inibuilds 320neo when it comes.

I fly the real thing for work, and not once did I even notice anything glaringly wrong with the original cockpit. Some simmers are too damn fickle. I do appreciate the renewed attention to detail though.
As soon as we get the IniBuilds A320 NEO stable version, this one will be history and no more plastic A320.

I think they took the glareshield from the INIBuilds. Its just a feeling, but they look very similar. Anyways, thank you FBW Team!! Been waiting for this for so many months and its finally here!
These are scans from the real thing sitting in the back burner until the blender exporter was ready, 3 years of work to do that. Ini had nothing to do with this lol
To the VAST majority of us virtual sim pilots or just sat morning flyers on our PC, we have never ever been near the cockpit of the real life A320,. Most of us who have flown RL in an A320 might catch a quick glimpse as we board before we are moved along by the impatient people boarding behind us. Once ground has given the paperwork to the Captain, thats it Door slammed and we are left with a view of the back of the seat 6" from your nose.
So my point is, why waste valuable manpower/time on these 'Nice to have' things and not something which might actually make the FBW even better like Extending centre line, Sec flight plan, Rnav, etc etc.
Look i am not belittling the huge efforts this great team have and are putting into this FREE Aircraft, but starring at a pretty Glare shield does not stop me changing to the Fenix as APL has given me an Airport to fly to that has Rnav, or i get vectors via Vatsim ATC and would love an Extended RW Centre line to aim for?
Just my take on this path of Beautification Updates instead of useable updates.
The fact is there’s no waste of manpower because those working on this are not those working on the other features you are mentioning.
development of a320 is somewhere at 1 to 100, a32nx is somewhere at 0 to 1. That is why this kind of update is valuable to spend such a lot of manpower

I am only interested in study level airliners on both X-Plane and MSFS. No slight to you or anyone who are content with mods.
@leloginquitu Perhaps you would happily fly an accurate flight deck without any external modelling whatsoever? Since the aesthetics don't seem to matter to certain simmers, maybe developers should offer you guys the same products but without the external models for a nice discount 😂

You’re the one who misunderstood/misinterpreted them. They were simply saying iniBuilds A320 systems are not up to par and it’s true. From what we’ve seen with the beta aircraft, FBW systems are superior.
