From a Gaditano living in London I tell you that this is one of the best videos I have ever seen of eating in my home town coming from a foreign person. I really recommend every one from around the world to come and visit Cádiz. Good food cheap, ABSOLUTELY LOVELY people, good weather and good hachís. Love you two, crazy video ;)
y te lo digo en gaditano, que arte tiene pisha! Que bastinazo de video!!
@@pelukbesaRO Good hachís JAJAJAJAJJAJA. Que grande!
Yes. This is real 100%.
Hash? Like the one you smoke? I'm definitely going soon!
@@horsemanorse9238 yes, is really close to Morocco... 😎😉
I so appreciate having the addition of your daughter in the videos. So often, travel videos show what can be done by young, unencumbered single people, and it leaves travelers with families wondering what is accessible or appropriate with children in tow.
Las tortillas de camarones, no llevan huevo. Consiguen la textura gracias a la harina de garbanzos...Fantástico video, gracias.
I am from Cadiz, this is one of the best videos i have ever seen of my region. This is your home.
Thank you ❤️
It's great to learn and see the many beautiful aspects of Spain; its people, land and culture. As someone who's part-Spanish, it makes me proud, especially when its about the oldest continiously inhabited city in western europe.
Very happy I found your channel. My wife and I were stationed in Rota for 7yrs back in the late 80s, early 90s and enjoyed our time there very much. Unfortunately, I've only made it back to Spain twice for work, and only for a few days each time. We hope to spend a few months there once we retire in a few years visiting friends that have retired around Rota/Puerto/San Lucar, etc. and enjoying Andalucía at our own pace.
I've read posts from other people that describe Cadiz as looking similar to other cities in different countries of the Americas. For me, it is quite similar to Panama city in the area of old town. Others have described it as looking like Cuba or Puerto Rico. Because Panama is also a country that has an abundance of seafood, the dishes in Cadiz are quite like the dishes served in Panama. There is no doubt that the influence of this city has been imprinted in the style and cuisine of some of the countries once colonized by Spain. Everything looked super tasty, but the artichoke with jamón ibérico and the quality of the tuna, really grabbed my attention. It is nice to see Yoly back to eating what she wants and sharing her experience. Lucía also looked ready to partake in the family business and taste some of the food passing in front of her. Once you mentioned the friendliness of the people of Cadiz and explained the quality of the sherry at Taberna La Manzanilla, I was immediately inspired to visit soon. I've gotta say, videos like this should come with a warning that reads: "Watch with a full stomach". All this food made me really hungry. Thanks for an awesome video and for giving us so much insight about Cadiz.
That's interesting about the similarities to the food of Panama, Gina. And yes, it's true that sometimes it feels like you're in the tropics when you're there. You need to get there. You'll love Manzanilla!
Homegirl Yoli is literally a human radiator. Positive energy just comes from her.
Yusss!!!
Cadiz is so underrated, it's an amazing city for food. They found the remains of a Phoenician King and Queen in Cadiz. So yes, the Phoenicians were in Cadiz. It's also Spain's oldest city. Great tapas tour!
That's right, like Greeks, Tartessos and some others.
@@baltasarmelchor935 Incredible history here.
It si actually Europe’s oldest city
@@MFS131268 That's so amazing!👍
❤
I love your open mind. Spaniards are so welcoming and your lucky to live in Spain.
❤
Yoly is glowing. Thanks for the tour.
As a person who lives at Cádiz, the city is beautiful in all things
Don’t compare yourselves to Rick, chalk and cheese. As a European, I can’t get enough of you guys. 5 mins of Rick is enough. You are authentic, passionate, magnetic. Yoli, you rock. Thanks, and keep up the great work. S
*@Spain Revealed, I love to follow your food tours, especially if they are about seafood. Most people from English-speaking countries don't know much about Spanish cuisine. Thank you for bringing those delicious dishes to our screens 👍👍!* 🇺🇸🗽
OMG! I love Spain so much and since the start the pandemia I've never came back😔😔😔😔 and I live in Portugal 🥺🥺🥺 I hope going back to Spain soon
I think I gained 10 pounds just watching this video. Eating good food is one of my best experiences in any country. Bon appetito...
He llorado cuando le ha dicho al camarero "olé que arte" 😂
Just back from a couple of weeks in Malaga > Cadiz > Seville and I wanted to say what a massive help your videos were. We discovered so many amazing places to eat we might otherwise have missed, always with a great vibe, food and people. Malaga we loved already and had some firm favourites so was good to find new spots (you need to go to La Tranca though - best vibe!), Seville has been cleaned up somewhat since our last visit 15+ years ago and I preferred it over the river this time so thanks for the tip on that (we are mental visiting in August though!). But Cadiz was our favourite for so many reasons, the food of course but the people, the fact it still has a few rough edges, the history everywhere, the market, ,the Spain-on-holiday atmosphere on the beach, etc. Keep up the great work and thanks.
OHHH PUNTILLAS IS WONDERFUL....I LOVED..SO GOOD
I didn’t want that video to end! I love Cádiz. I have been to both Casa Lazo and Manteca and of course the market, not brave enough to try sea urchins yet though! We are lucky enough to have a home in Vejer de La Frontera, a beautiful village which is only about 35 minutes away, they too have some fabulous restaurants and bars.
I actually have been to la Taberna de la Manzanilla since I was 8 years old and my father used to go and have his Copa of Manzanilla during semana santa in Cádiz. Is really special to see it now on you tube as I now this place for more than 15 years now. amazing!
Lucia Is so adorable! I'm aways struck by the sheer variety of foods in Spain.
Spectacular Cadiz, was there in transit for 3 hours. Got to meet our relatives that extended 200 years. Pretty amazing place. I wonder why my great great grand fathers left. I will be back.
Excellent choice as an expat in Spain, Andalucia, Cadiz inside it, have the best tapas. The fried seafood is heavenly.
Been to Cadiz quite a few time, the fish market they visit is so amazing with so many diffrent choices ! soo good....
Thank you for a great video! We arrived in Cadiz yesterday and headed straight for El Faro! It was packed, chaotic(!), crazy, fun! Somehow everything we ordered arrived in quick time, was super tasty and the service was very friendly. We felt like we were part of some private party that we had stumbled across. We would never have found this place without your video.
James and Yoli, you always bring a big smile to my face when I watch your vlogs. Another great food tour of another beautiful city of Spain. Thank you for taking us along.
I am here in Spain with my son, daughter-in-law and grand baby. We are going to Cadiz. I can’t wait to see it in person
How about your experience?
Awesome video. And seeing Lucia was a special bonus 💖
Glad you enjoyed it!
Best video for tourists ever. Thank you very much from Cádiz.
Dear James and Yioli, a fan for many years. Lived in Spain for over 25 years. Now, in Calif. The question about the sea urchins they served you should have been, "Where are these sea urchins from?" Spain imports lots of seafood and sends their coastal seafood to Madrid from where the seafood is purchased and sent to other towns in Spain or sent abroad. For California, some of our best sea urchins are caught by divers in Santa Barbara, California and consumed locally, and other coastal sea urchins are caught and normally sent to Asia. Sea urchins are foods for the gods, for me. Possibly, there are sea urchins in Spain, but always ask. Your fan, Liza
It´s honestly a really good reportage about Spanish Tapas in Cadiz. Thanks for sharing it around the world.
Eating their way round of one of Spain's best places. Not jealous, at all! Lol.
I was in Cadiz this summer with my son. Ate at the market shown in the video. Cadiz is a very different place with different food compared with anywhere on the Costa Del Sol.
So true about the fried, of which there’s a lot, and stews and the rest. It’s lovely food there. The tuna I had as my tapa in Seville each day when there was raw. Tasty. This is perfect. Lucia will be a connoisseur of the food by the age of five. She’s become a lovely addition to your films.. 😊
Being from New Zealand, i love sea urchin ( kina) and of course, Bluff oysters 🍻
I just love your enthusiasm in these videos.
Love your channel and very happy to see you guys in my neck of the woods. I put Cadiz up there with my favorite cities in the world. So much to offer; the gardens, the food, and the history!
“Papas aliñás” thanks for sharing this, I moved to United States almost 4 years ago, I miss Cádiz so much!! You guys bring me so much memories ❤
I love how Spain and Italy are so welcoming to family with children ! ..oh and yes the food looks soooo amazing !
Unlike other places like...the UK
In too many countries in Europe you get the angry stare if you bring in kids in a restaurant. Not in Southern Europe.
My mind is made up!
I was wondering where to visit in June and you have convinced me - it will be Cadiz!!!!!
I also want to do the Madrid Devour tour in June. ;)
Finally a new video!!! So happy, cant wait to finally travel to Spain again this summer.
Que familia más bonita. Es gracioso, parece que Lucía hace el intento de probar lo que coméis. Un saludo desde Sevilla y que Dios os bendiga.
Chipirones are my favorite seafood, Que preciosa es la enanita.
thank you for showing us Cadiz...and of course your family especially Lucia ❤
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Good video work as usual. I can't stop LOL looking a Lucia, every time Yolly takes a bite of her food she looks at it like saying "Hey what about me!" jajaja
That’s was epic! Wonderful how you worked in a few shots of your beautiful daughter and I must say, yoli is real trouper as she is obviously not drinking alcohol. We leave for Spain tomorrow and we will be taking a few devour tours and using your book to help us around a few cities. You’re love for spain and it’s people shine through in all your videos. I hope that you get recognition for all the work you do. All the best to you, your family and those that support you.
not long to go for our trip - can't wait - swotting up on Spain Revealed thanks James and Yoly ... and Lucia - what a beautiful little face there in that video!
Happy healthy Easter!
When I went there in the early 2000s in the middle of the Summer really late at night in a few narrow backstreets of the old quarter in the cetner some people had their windows open so you could hear what people are doing inside their homes etc late into the night, you don't get that in central Madrid so much as you walk the streets.
I am here in Cádiz because of you guys. Love you both! Well The 3 if you!
Lucia is lovely.
agree. delightful.
Thank you for your video. I wouldn't have thought about visiting Cádiz until I saw this video. Will include it when I plan another trip to the south of Spain.
Para lo españoles nuestro viaje de bajo coste a la Habana es ir a Cádiz.Esta ciudad es, sin duda, la más americana de España.
@@ignacioheredia9599Ciertamente que lo es 😊
Love it that you keep it real. Going to follow your recommendations but with better weather!
Wow.
They all look fantastic. Saved into my Google Maps and will definitely be checking them out when we get back to Spain.
Awesome Robert!
Many thanks ... I learned a lot of english and refresing mine cadiz experiences in San Lucar
Great job on the video, weather, baby, and all. It all looks wonderful. I've read about the tuna harvest.
That's Alexandre --- glad you liked it!
You guys make me feel like traveling to Spain right away... Yummy !!!
erizo, ortiguillas, tortilla de camarones - for when I visited Cadiz next year😊
Love this video ❤️ Thanks for the amazing content guys 🙏
Absolutely love this video James, Yoli & Lucia! We also did a 3 day tapas crawl of Cadiz last September and hit all of these spots with the exception of El Faro and Arsenio Manila (they were both on the list but required a little too much detouring to fit them on to our route!). Booked to go back this September so we’ll be sure to hit them up and will definitely repeat some of the others (Casa Lazo is amazing, isn’t it?). Thanks for sharing the love of Andalucia ☀️
Great to see the whole family once again! As we arrived either the day of your rainy day, or the day after, we know what Cadiz is like in not the best weather. That said, we still loved our 5 days there and it's on our list to return to hopefully in 2023. We too went to Cafe Lazo and loved their food and the experience. We were lucky to get in when we did as they were booked solid. Cannot get enough of the tortilla de camarones and wish the restaurants in Valencia (where we currently are) had it on the menu. We first learned of the dish at Duo Tapas is Seville last month.
Yeah, the weather was pretty weird the week we were there. The week after it was supposed to rain solid. I'm glad you still enjoyed it Art. You'll need to head back sometime to see it in the sun.
@@spainrevealed Thanks. We're already thinking about a return in May of 2023. Hopefully better weather then.
What a beautiful baby! She's adorable and Yoli looks amazing! We are booked with Devour Tours in September and cannot wait. Thinking of daytripping to Cadiz from Marbella as well. Super excited. Five months today!
Definitely day trip to Cadiz - fabulous city and stunning food as you can see in this video! James and Yoli hit all of my fave spots in this vid ☀️
Nice timing, we just arrived in Cadíz yesterday!!
EDIT - so we went to El Faro arriving as it opened tonight.... after 10min there was at least 20 people waiting to get in. The staff were surprised, so not a normal Sunday night... the James Blick effect perhaps!! Nice meal BTW. Cheers
Go to "La Marea" Its the Best place to eat fish!. I'm from Cádiz, I hope that my city like to you. 😊
ha! I wish I had that sort of impact!
Those shrimp fritters!!!!!! I know that's not what they're called, but that would be my favorite
so good!
This was a bit late since we were in Cadiz April 7-9, so it makes me want to go back immediately. Ugh. We did sit at the same table at the market and ate some fried fish. I’ll share the pic elsewhere. Thanks for the great video.
Great video - glad to see you got your mojo back. Will definitely put Cadiz on my list😀
Soy de Cádiz y os doy la enhorabuena por el video, se nota que habéis disfrutado en mi tierra, el paraíso
I couldn't go wrong with your recommendations! Thank you 🎉
Thanks for this great video of my hometown and all its great eats.
so glad to see another episode.
Cádiz is very top, the food is ancestral and authentic delicious, for example, the Cádiz cort tuna, the mojama, the ventresca and melva is incredible, the almadraba tuna of Cádiz have more two thausand year, to era fhenician. The tuna with cebolla is a big clasic to Cádiz, but my prefer food of Cádiz is to chicharrones and mechada beef, Cádiz is the origin of this beef more famous in América Latina
Casa Lazo is my fav place in Cadiz, the best food and amazing staff, those potatoes! El Faro is superb too, I need to go back to Cadiz, I only flew back 1o days ago! lol
Wonderful family. Thanks for sharing your awesome experience’s 👍
Im here right now (On Cadiz), if you guys need any help or any of you on the comments want info on Cadiz write below here.
It.s actually one of the oldest cities in Europe. In Spain for sure, maybe the oldest of Europe too.
It is where legends are born and forged.
My partner and I did a 3 week tour of Andalusia a few years back and we LOVED Cadiz. We also had some amazing food in Zahara de Los Atunes, Ronda and Granada (La Tana is epic) on this trip. Would love to see more videos from Andalusia. Thank you and Lucia is a stunner.
Seems like a Malta surname ,a place i love.
Your Andalucia tour sounds AWESOME! Next time don’t skip Malaga 😉
I loved cazon fish in adovo...fry...is super good ..yummy💋💋
I really love your videos! Cheers!
Love Cádiz
This seems to be a very charming place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job! Subscribed!!
Very nice! As always, enjoyed your video. Looking forward to visiting Cadiz after watching this. Saludos desde Puero Rico!
That’s a wonderful concept. Right, I’m settling in for the vlog. 👍😀
love sea urchin. is salty and sweet and creamy is amazing
Great video - I visited Cadiz many years ago and have always wanted to return. Your video has made me feel more determined to do so.
Absolutely love this video with Lucia too! Am going to look at going to Cadiz ! Looks great 👍
El Faro tonight for tasting menu. Under an unassuming menu, superb cooking and surprising delights like the fritters you had. Wow!
So glad!
Great video! Kudos!
And Salmorejo is beautiful food yasss.yasss
Love that you mentioned Rick Stein, my food hero. I re-watched the Cadiz episode of his Long Weekends this morning. You're sitting at the same table he did.
So brilliant, I watched this ages ago and of course loved it. I'll be in Cadiz on 18 April, so now it's time to REWATCH and put pins into my maps. 😊
So good to see you guys back on the tapas crawls 🤤
I haven't been able to return to Spain since 2019 😭 😷 😒
Your videos keep me going. Ole 👏🏼💃🏻.
Thank you James, Yoli, Lucia 🥰 God bless your beautiful new family.
Lucia is adorable!
Those patatas aliñas looked delicious the way there were served with all that olive oil! I found recipes online. Will try it. Need to go to Spain.
Man... Ur videos are spectacular....
So good to see you doing the videos again. I've missed you and Yoly
We really want to go see Cadiz. We never heard of it until we saw your videos. Gracias!
Casa mantecas
De lo mejor en tapas
Your videos are great!!! Very informative and makes me want to go on a day trip to Cadiz.
Here's a recommendation if you ever come to Malaga
La Recova is an amazing place that has tapas till around 3pm (not sure about weekends) but they serve the tapas in egg cartons and the whole place is a museum. Definitely worth a visit when you are around Malaga
Keep up the amazing quality videos
Just subscribed your channel James awesome information 👍
