Excellent video. It's gonna help me find out if my solenoid is the problem with mine.... now I know where it is and how to get to it. Really important to see where every screw is!
Thank You for this post ! It was very helpful. For everyone else: This is tight as f**k !!! Your arms and hands will be in pain for several days. It is not easy but it is not impossible. 3rd bold is a through bolt that requires removing the inner fender on the driver's side.
I have fitted several starter motors on these vehicles, they are the same as a Citroen Picasso Multispace. I find it easier to remove the righthand driveshaft for more room. However it means refilling the gearbox.
I did my 2009 308 T7 1.6hdi. It's not easy but I can confirm you can get the starter out *without* removingnthe driveshaft OR the engine mount. It came out between the driveshaft and the firewall, where that heatsheilding is, withoit much trouble. The hardest part was finding/feeling the bolts, and ratcheting. Is used a minature 1/4 drive ratchet, plenty of mirrors and lights and did it without a hoist. Good luck :)
You all probably dont give a shit but does anyone know a way to get back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid forgot my password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me
@Melvin Reyansh Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
Having that bolt stick through from the wheel bay meant having to remove the wheel bay protector panel, which was a ton of work. Really bad engineering decision. Beside the starter being in the most difficult place to get at that it can be.
Ok I have just completed this task. I have the documents from Peugeot so for those that are wondering all except for the bottom mount of the starter (and obviously the positive wire) , this job is completed from the top side of the engine. You do not have to remove the driveshaft OR the exhaust manifold, you can quite easily remove it. But you will have to stick your arm in a long way. If you are quite short this is going to be a bit of a challenge. I am 6ft and I was up to the armpit in getting this done. The top left hand bolt needs to be removed with hex bit and spanner, I don't think you'll do it any other way and 90% of this job is done by feel. However, it was in the end a pretty simple job. To make it easy on yourself, 1. Jack up car, get underneath and do that one bolt and the positive terminal. 2. Set the car back down and do the rest from the top. 3. Use a hex bit with a ratcheting spanner. for that difficult top left bolt ( the one closest to the engine) 4. the other bolts are no problem.
Thank you, excellent. On my 2010 B9 I couldn't get the starter out from by the exhaust and I couldn't get the exhaust off but I COULD pass it to right hand side of the engine and up through the gap by the fuel lines and out of the bonnet. For others... on mine you need to take the nearside wheel off and the arch to access the battery tray bold that's under the fuse box. I used an impact wrench and took off the welded on nut before realising the bold undoes from inside the wheel arch. No idea how I'm gonna get the allen bolts back - just waiting for the new starter.
Ok So I have the 1.6L EP6CDT T7 engine. And when I go underneath the exhaust AND the driveshaft are in the way. Do you have to remove both to do this easily?
Hi all :) And Guddu! Im curious if one has to go underneath the car in order to follow this video manual? does one have to lift the car up or is it possible while just standing parked? Thanks for video!
This is aa better version of my video , back when I made mine there where no videos on this here , I really should have updated mine , but alias I dont care so
bastante escondido el burro de arranque, en el peugeot 306, de 16 valvulas, se sacan otras cosas,, (garganta de aceleracion. Tambien es complicado. Son motores electricos muy pequeñños, pero con gran torque.
It’s actually way more simpler than he done he done the slow way you can access it from underneath and just remove three or four bolts and it’s out and never ever use a jack from the boot or professional one just slide under the van disconnect the battery first and that’s it
Obviously hasn’t done the job before. Battery and tray have to come out as per the video. I had to remove the lower engine support to get the room between the exhaust and drive shaft. Much easier than removing the drive shaft 🥳

Not a bad idea though, when you have to do the maintanance to that and renew the oil every now and then anyway, thanks

Many thanks for taking the time. A big help to me, especially the 3rd bolt behind the battery tray 👍🏻😜🥳

@Paul Michael Freedman that's the little sod circled in red in the video I suspect. .
@@Seaside33 Indeed. I hope they fired the engineer who designed that.

in the Peugeot 207 is in the same place?
In other words it would be easier to pull the motor out of car and go buy a new car like a Holden ss commodore 6.0 litre v8
...thanks 4 sharing
So what I learned from this is that Im fucked. Citroen berlingo for sale. StARts eVeRY tIMe nO iSSuES. Ready to drive away
Just like an union... it has layers.. and makes mr cry

Well you need to lift the car to go underneath or use the car ramps
Great to know you can get in from top
Thanks. Bit of a pig for a starter motor . Not like 2.0 psa haha
Hi Guddu Pappu. i have question, how can i remove the red circled bolt that is at 5:10 in the video?
YOU HAVE ACCES AND HAVE TO QUIT THE PLASTIC COVER FROM THE TIRE IS A STUPID DESIGN AL THE CAR HAVE NUTS & BOLTS IN DIFFICULT POSITIONS.
I wasted one hour tks greetings since México
Benzin oder Diesel? Motor
Thx
Great video, thanks for taking the time. But how to easily get the loose starter engine out of the car? It's completely stuck.
You can remove the driver side driveshaft then starter come out easy
or remove the lower engine mount and lever the motor back a bit to get it out see that bolt at 8:13

Doesn't look that bad, a little tight but all French cars are 😂😂😂😂 them stupid hex bolts!!!!! Only on a PEUGEOT!!!!! *
how to design a car where nothing is easily reachable, it's one thing (quite possibly the only thing) Peugeot designers excel at
In the middle of a clutch change. The plastic sill covers need to come off
omg id rather just buy another car
😂
