Absolutely superb, thank you so much for taking the time to do this properly. I have a 307cc HDi 136 and has just developed a rattle on startup. The garage (that fitted a starter motor last year) have told me it was likely to be the Dual Mass flywheel, and to expect the worst... but I thought I would just check the stability of the starter, which I was able to locate thanks to your guide. It was very wobbly! I have found that one of these bolts was GONE and the other two very loose. I will be tackling this properly in the morning, but just tightening the remaining bolts with my fingers (very, very slowly!) has fixed the problem. Its fantastic to see the frame and bolts so clearly in your video, and everything looking the same as my engine, although my battery is of course further back towards the firewall, and so I think I can get away with not removing it as all I want to do is tighten bolts, not remove the starter. Also I will have to work out where to get a new bolt from! Once again very many thanks for doing this so well. Liked and subscribed. :-)
Yes same block, just different heads and gearboxes.
So pleased it helped! Thanks for commenting!
🐷🧠
@@PiggyPower It must be a tight squeeze in the 206! bad enough to work on in the 307. I have today tightened up the lower bolt and moved the other one from the front hole to the back hole (where it was missing) so that at least I've got bolts 180 degrees from each other, I now need another bolt for the front hole. I think I am right in saying this is 9cm long (8cm without the head) and m10? would you say that was correct? I need to find a generic one as I cant seem to buy a "starter motor" one, so any advice gratefully received, and many thanks again!
Yes, M10 sounds familiar. Try searching for a 8.8 or 10.9 bolt
@@PiggyPower thank you very much, I will give those a try. 👍
Great video piggy power, nicely explained and executed 👌👍😀
Thanks 👍
I always watch the ads on your vids so you get more money, even the weird ads
Even the ones about the latest perfume for your cats?
@@PiggyPower especially those.
Great little format for tutorials mate. Excellent. I don't need to change my starter motor but watching helps me learn the engine. Any more hdi vids up your sleeve? ...preferably the 306...
They come along as they come along tbh.. with projects and little work coming in due to covid... It's when I need to fix something I usually take the opportunity. Open to suggestions... Thankyou for the nice comments 👍😃
@@PiggyPower haha. Beam change wouldn't be bad but it's a bit past my skill level. Need to change the heater motor on mine so if you ever get round to something like that; awesome. If not I'll just keep an eye out for any little bits you do and if I can find the time, I'll do it myself and follow along.
Keep up the great content 🤙
I've done axle/beam changes. 👍😜 Heater motor is simple enough on most pugs...it's the lying upside bit that's tricky 😅🙈
@@PiggyPower 🤙
I think i remember you from the 306 forums back in the day? :)
Yeah... They've died havnt they 🙄😭
@@PiggyPower Yeh they did unfortunately. 306s are very uncommon now probably the reason 8(
Facebook killed all forums tbh
Bravo lo devo fare anche io ma è difficile
Pretty easy as far as these go, compared to other engines/cars, the later 1.6hdi is twice as hard to do 👌🐷
Hi, great video cheers. Could you help me with something? I need to change the starter on a van where the hex nuts/sockets have been completely rounded off. I've tried cutting a slot in the head etc, but cannot get it to move.
Question is: can i cut the head off the nut entirely? Basically need to know whether the section within the gearbox / flywheel casing is threaded or not... hoping not so i can just cut the head off the bolts to free the starter. Any help much appreciated
Oh what a pickle!!
You can, the threaded section is in the starter. The issue you will face is being able to remove the starter with the studs you've not got still in the starter. You may need to remove the fuel filter housing 👍🐷
@@PiggyPower thanks a lot for your reply, needed that confirmation. Ah yes I see what you mean. Well desperate times and all that... I'll just keep cutting! Thanks again
Ok I'm going to owe you a beer I think... But do you know what thread is on these bolts? Guessing an imperial one?
@@robfoulsham1 from memory dealership will sell a set of three for about £10. They need to be the right lengths etc (2 are the same, 1 is different)
Hi mate I have a 307 2.0hdi 90bhp no intercooler so less hassle but is the clutch slave cylinder going to be an issue on my car when trying to remove the lower bolt from the starter motor
May have similar yes. 👍
Good video, do you have a video on that booster pipe i wouldn't mind fitting one to my 2.0L 206, thanks
Booster pipe?
@@PiggyPower its ok i found all your 206 daily driver episodes i will watch them I'm sure you cover the tuning there, thanks
No worries! Thanks for watching
