Would you all say that the list or the manifestation of the list changes as a person gets older? For example, in your 20s you may want someone with dreams, who is ambitious and goal-oriented. But as you get higher into your 30's (and beyond), rather than wanting someone who just has dreams or goals, you may want someone who has actually achieved some of their dreams or has scratched some of those goals off the list already.
Do y'all see this as unreasonable?

This the first time I heard about Men having a list! I feel like oft times women have a list , and never thought that men have one too. I don't have slot of male peer friends to ask, but now I'm bouta ask every man I date or meet periodt¡🤔
Keep in mind that God knows better than us what we need in our marriages...they are made to refine us and make us righteous, not to make us "happy" or "comfortable"...joy and happiness comes with marriage, yes, but no list will truly get to what God needs us to experience to be more like Christ...be open-minded...the good will come with the bad...the list is just a framework...a wish list
Audio check again. The intro before the podcast the volume was great and then it sank when the podcast started. For a hot minute I thought the microphones were off. 🤷🏾♀️ Please help! 🥺 I'd like to listen to the next 42 minutes with my partner without having to plug earphones in.
I need to review my list, but honestly I have very little energy or motivation for dating. It’s sooo exhausting maybe because I’m 37 single woman with an established career, a home, a full life. I’ve been seriously looking on and off for 12 years. I’m tired!
@A J I feel you, whether I meet someone or not I’m still living for God and being led by His spirit. I do believe He has the right man for me and in His time He will do it. At the end of it all I want to hear ‘well done good and faithful servant!’

I'm not sure, I'm going to challenge that. You put beautiful as a want on your list but you said millionaire is superficial. Wouldn't beauty be as well. I think financial stability and financial success would be a good thing on a list. Think about it, wouldn't you want your daughter to be matched with someone who is financially secure to reduce her stress and increase her quality of life. Idk just a thought.
In my opinion, Beauty is subjective. Not everyone sees beauty the same. A million dollars is exactly that. My hope for the man my daughter marries is that he respects, loves and cares for her… she’ll be financially stable on her own as long as she doesn’t squander her earned money from the family business. I hope she marries someone who is wise with his finances
@@BeleafInFatherhood I think a man that makes very little but budgets can be wise with his finances and still be problematic. What I'm hearing you say is your daughter is not going to need to desire a financially successful and stable spouse because she will come for a financially successful family.Your wealth is not the norm for most black fathers or families so the advice to just marry off of a job, good character, ambition and financial responsibility is possibly a hindrance to woman that look like us. We black women often marry down, work more and are responsible for more in our household than women of other races which I think is linked to our high rates of obesity, emotional eating, heart disease, thyroid disease which are all linked to high stress. Idk I don't think a guy who is wise with his small amount of finances is going to be able to help his wife live a comfortable life.

You guys have been married since you like teens! to be getting dating advice from you is a slap on the face. But I love you guys, I'm just saying, things are different.
They married when they were in their early to mid 20’s.
Before I got married I learned from people who had been married from 20-30 years and although we may feel “things being different” is very valid, it doesn’t mean God can’t use these people to help you in your life, so I would say always be open, you’d be surprised what you can learn from other people and how much it maybe help when you apply the wisdom to your life. Much love!
