Real my musicians with REAL AUTHENTIC and GENUINE VOICES! It was a day I'll never forget. Suffering from anorexia I passed out from starving. Live Aid that day helped me to pivot. It took time but eventually healed. So BandAid did more than help Ethiopia. Thank you!❤❤❤
Some kids and ordinary people in this doc have more balls and brains than most politicians back then and today. The shame and greed that exists is terrible.
I love how they show the radio guy broadcasting it to the the people I guess that's the u.s.a. single I guess the Epic Records Was a radio version and I guess phonogram was the UK radio version
Karmas A Butch Bob Geldof isn't a billionaire. Any money that he has comes from his production companies from television which was set up using money that he had from the records that he sold. Bob Geldof was always wealthy, even before Live Aid, you can't blame a man for earning money. Bob Geldof has given 20% of all of his wealth (about £20 million) to aid development in foreign countries, I wonder how much the people on here have given in terms of a percentage of their bank account. Just think about that. Would you give £20 million of your money to overseas development? Even if you have it? I doubt it.
Live Aid was the Woodstock of the 1980s. If you lived in Africa you wouldn't have any damn "nostalgia" for that decade. It was just life, we did what we had to do. Great concert though.
And socialist alternative just makes EVERYONE poor. Really poor. Government bread line and soup kitchens poor. Be careful what you wish for. Learn your history.
Capitalism is a factor certainly. That insanity about the food mountains & lakes is pure capitalism. But it's a symptom of a bigger problem rather than a primary cause.
@@nikkibest5010 typical ignorant retort, by someone fully brainwashed by capitalist education. be a very ordinary slave to the machine! truth be told, socialism has never been properly implemented anywhere. the USSR was a state capitalist system, so was China and several other Asia nations, most notably, Vietnam. Cuba and the Indigenous rebels of the Zapatista movement probably got the closest, but the US-led embargo crucified Cuba (and still does), sae goes for Venezuela and a bunch of other "non-aligned" nations. regarding the Zapatistas, the Mexican government spent over a decade fighting Indigenous rebels rather than supporting their right to live outside of capitalist control. your ahistorical b*ll*cks really doesn't cut it... this far into the 21st century. educate yourself!

The children on both sides are so precious. No politics, just love and care for fellow humans 💙
The only time the world came together as one and it took music make it happen.

Joshua Galban Then *somehow ended up a billionaire afterwards...
In '84/'85, Geldof WAS God 👊
Yeah, if only he actually believed in God. Sad soul he is.
@@annieg1812 Wait...I thought it was caused by global warming and fossil fuel. Isn't that the government control agenda?

And FYI Bowie looked pissed when he went offstage, I think his set got cut short. But ever the class act, his performance was fantastic.
What was this singer's name again

Yet Woodstock accomplished nothing 🤔
7:13-7:17 we didn't see that Sting could play bass in this song.
6:21...
Eritrea... the North Korea of Africa.
57:40 what is the name of the song?
It's I don't like Mondays by the boomtown rats. The main singer is one of the organizers of Band Aid, Live Aid and Live 8.
5:50 that guy looking back... Because of the "tonight thank god it's them instead of you" lyric?
Very controversial line of lyrics, especially to the man who sung them.
Yeah Bono had a really hard time with that and didn't even want to sing those lyrics
This is what capitalism does with our world.

🧐And I thought it was drought. Hmmm.
