Erie is equidistant from Buffalo and Cleveland, being about 100 miles (160 kilometers) away.[6] Erie's manufacturing sector remains prominent in the local economy, though healthcare, higher education, technology, service industries, and tourism are emerging as significant economic drivers. Over four million people visit Erie each summer for recreation at Presque Isle State Park and attractions such as Waldameer Park and the Erie Zoo.
The city was named for the Native American Erie people who lived in the area until the mid-17th century. It is known as the "Flagship City" because of its status as the home port of Oliver Hazard Perry's flagship Niagara.[7] It is also known as the "Gem City" because of the water's gem like appearance when the Sun is out. Erie won the All-America City Award in 1972. In 2012, Erie hosted the Perry 200,[8] a commemoration celebrating 200 years of peace between Britain, America, and Canada following the War of 1812 and Battle of Lake Erie.

I appreciated the lack of edits and the quality being high enough that I could pause and read the street signs. Thank you.
I rented a house in Erie, lived there for two months, there wasn't enough work for me to survive there. I left there and lost all my rent money.
Thanks so much for this! I was born there at Hamot Hospital in 1952 and was only back once many years ago. Now I'm unable to travel but I can see my native homeland. It looks great, thanks again.
I was born here in 1950 and eventually, the Marine Corps transplanted me and my family to the coastal area of NC. We've been here in NC for 32 years and make a yearly trek up to Erie once a year. Them changes! Like they say, "you can never go home".
Nice view of Erie! Thank you so much 😊
Just moved to pa I love it
Thanks
Why do you love it? The ppl? Nature?... Congrats on moving ☺️

I still live here a little commentary would be nice point out some of the remaining historical sites even though there aren't many left
Thanks, i was hoping for a video of the area.
If possible, a suggestion for your next video could be,
" McClelland Park area, particularly Bird dr. and E. 32 st. right on the corner and the surrounding area.
Was thinking about buying in that area, but not sure what it's like.
I'll add you as a subscription just in case you can take another drive in that area.
Thanks
There are some great neighborhoods with beautiful vistas of the lake from a bluff...Presque Isle, wine country and more. This video to me.....is the worst.

@@GoArmy87 Hey Army, I knew a Guss Thomas back in the day when we worked together in the 70's. You heard of him, I think he passed.
The chemtrails seem to be working in this place. Most everyone is asleep.
The government spends 100s of trillions on wars. But Youngstown lost 5000 jobs in 1977. On Black Monday. All the jobs are gone
👍
😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴
I grew up there. Doesn't look the same. All the gay flags downtown just show how emasculated and lost it now is. Was once a powerhouse city. Trying to replace GE with coffee shops is going to be tough. Nevertheless, thanks for taking the time to do this.
Thanks
You can hang your confederate flag but wouldn’t let the gays hang their flag ? There’s no way you’re not a Trump supporter.
Leave people alone, the only place you should have an opinion about is your home, do you own downtown Erie ?
@@Eye-it-azz.. Gay flags are marxist flags ..wake to hell up if you still cant see the direction this country is on. it not just the border, the jobs, the educational system, the censorship ,the flase flags …its all of that and more!
Nah, the only flag we need is an American flag. People are getting sick of the LBGT crap being shoved in our faces. You want equality? Act equal. No parades just cause you like to have sex with the same sex. It's not an accomplishment. Leave the kids alone as well. BTW, Trump is controlled as well by the same Globalists.
I agree! I grew up in Erie. Just visited recently. Vowed to never return.
depressing run down town
yes ,we lost industrial tax base and thousands of people with the plan by NWO globalist to get rid of middle class as our payed off politicans sit with the thumb in arse.. now we are replacing people with goal of 10,000 from turd worlders..neat hah?
great places there....they were all left out
