Hey guys! In this video I discuss how feminine hygiene practices passed down by our moms, grandmas, and even great-grandmas may be negatively affecting our vaginal health. There seems to be this never ending rat-race women find themselves in as it pertains to vaginal odor and cleanliness. Let's talk about it!

Ty because I think if you was my nurse, I would be better by now, and you taught us how to prevent it from coming back. I do drink a lot less coffee. And try to stay away from toxins, and drink water. Now I know not to be so clean. The vagina cleans out it self. So now I'm just using water inside and out. However. I was 13 when my foster mom taught me how to properly clean my crotch. She showed me how to squat or prop up a leg on the tub and lower myself down a bit to open my legs. Then use a fesh washcloth with a little mild soap and water to gently wipe my mons and between my vulva creases, then rinse thoroughly. Never douche either! Wash twice a day, morning when I wake up and before bed at night, and on hot days, sprinkle a little cornstarch baby powder in the panties to reduce moisture from sweat. Also change into fresh dry panties as many times as you need to in a day to keep dampness out of your crotch and prevent infection. I also learned to replace my stash of cotton panties every year and buy at least 20 pairs. Hope this helps anyone seeing this!

Good job explaining this to women who may not know. I'm a nurse and listened to see what you had to offer. I knew most of this from being old, but also from training and some good gyn doctors over the years. I think we have been conditioned to artificial fragrances over the years in the form of douches, sprays, soaps, air fresheners, etc. We need to learn that we all have A SMELL unique to our own bodies and unless it's really foul, we should learn to love it. I'm of the opinion if it smells like something rotting and maybe looks bad or stuff is oozing somewhere, you may be infected with something. See a Doctor. Thanks for your video. I hope the women watching learn from this.

Reason being the different smells from the body tell the doctor what is wrong bfore blood tests a lot of times.

The sugar content in my body, which was wacko.... was causing infections, and odor. Once I started on a lower keto diet, and paid more attention to what I ate, made some lifestyle changes? My blood sugar came back into line. And my 'infections' cleared.

If I didn't want to smell like something I wouldn't eat it. Last year I posted drawings of the actual size ,shape and position of the entire clitoris on my fb page. No one reacted to it out of thousands of friends and followers. They must have seen it, but the lack of a single response says a lot about how society has taught us, especially women, to be ashamed of female anatomy.

A yeast infection could be a reason for a change in discharge & a (different) smell.
Discharge is normal , every woman has it, & it can change depending on the time of month, etc.
It can even get a different smell of you use certain products, never use anything that can mess with the ph balance which can cause bv. The comment above saying boric acid is right, it's a supplement you can take it f you have a ph imbalance. But it can have side effects, it's not for everyone. Food can change it too,
If the smell is very unpleasant & it looks different (colour, texture etc) you should go to your GP, or obgyn.
We have good bacteria in our discharge & certain things can 'kill' it all & cause yeast to grow.
      X.

I have found the product Monistat boric acid genital wash is very helpful for irritation and itching, but of course like anything else it’s temporary. I find just wiping down there after urinating with cold water dampened toilet paper helps very much. I have always been a Vagisil Oder control and PH Balance liquid soap user , but now it sounds like those two products are actually exaggerating the irritation after a day or 2. Same here. I absolutely clean the outside, folds, labia with mild soap. That area is not self cleaning.

THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. I STOPPED USING SOAP FOR QUITE SOMETIME BECAUSE I NOTICED I WAS ITCHING OR FEELING "DIFFERENT!" ONCE I STOPPED USING SOAPS AND SCENTED ANYTHING, I'M FINE...

I am almost 70, so I know a few things! 1st. I have never used soap or worn underwear! I know, I can hear, groan if you will but it's worked for me. Now I'm going to listen to the post. P. S. I grew up in Europe where I always heard that if you want to stink trap the smell with panties.

I haven't been able to use soap for 16 years. I either use no scent feminine wash or just hot water. I only wear cotton panties with panty liners. I drinks lots of water, eat fruit, yogurts and I swear by apple cider vinegar with the mother and lemon in my water. Feminine wash doesn't cause discharge like soap did for me.

Great information presented in an easy to understand way, thanks. However, the Amazon link for the boric acid isn't working for me! Please let me know of the brand that you recommend.

Thank you for the truth. I only wish grils and lady's will listen to what you say. My first time have I have run across you. But most won't listen.
