  • Just a quick 6 month review of a little pump I picked up at Harbor Freight. It is very handy and helps me eliminate fuel spills. Follow up 6/19 the pump started filling the battery compartment with gas and started leaking. Follow up video coming.

When I bought a turkey fryer outfit about 15 years ago one of those pumps came with it. It had a replaceable gauze filter to filter the peanut oil so it could be reused. Its worked every year, but is a pain to clean. Good video as usual.

Good little pump. Easy to use. Great idea about being able to attach to can. 3D print a cap. I don't think my spring flowers are ever going to bloom. You are a week or more ahead of us.

Those pumps are handy and for the money it’s a good deal!Just keep oil in the log splitter you should be fine to split your wood. Those old cast iron engines are tough. Biggest problem with them is people run them out of oil . Thanks for taking the time to share.

I've seen these and wondered. Well, you fixed that for me. We used to need something like that quite a bit, but we don't use many things now that need this so I'll skip it. Will send vid to hubby as he is always interested in things like that. The flowers look grand! My iris are blooming and looking great too. Spring bulbs are all done, have been for a month. Much warmer here in middle TN I guess. Thanks for sharing.

I have one of these that is virtually identical that I bought from Amazon nearly 6 years ago. I didn't expect it to last very long but it is still working perfectly. I only use it at the end of the season to suck the fuel out of equipment I am storing for the winter. It makes it easy to suck the fuel out of the tanks and then run the engine to clear out what is left in the hose and carb.

Hi, thanks for the demo of this pump. I think they are very handy. The thing that worries me tho is if they are tested and approved by a safety organization. If these are made in China like many products today I hope they are safe to use and nobody has any accidents with them. I have seen others demo different versions of these some that do screw into the can top. I mentioned the safety aspect to one presenter and was ridiculed by them for asking how safe they are. My concerns are if they could create any sparks from the motor and ignite fumes escaping from the can or in the can. Dont get me wrong I would like to get one of these devices I'm just concerned about safety. Thanks.

For the pricetag, I can afford to replace it every few uses. I was so impressed with the one I bought that I bought another to tear apart and figure out how to reduce the speed and flow rate, as it pumps too fast for some of my uses, i.e. putting drained coolant back into my Jeep's radiator after some significant repairs. Needs to be slower, as the coolant only trickles down through the radiator.

They work well for a while but if you leave them in the can the gas and gas fumes destroys it. If you take it out of the gas and let it dry out it will last longer and the manufacturer recommends you wash it out with soap and water. There are models that screw onto the tank but that is not a good situation as the fumes take out the electronics and the gas destroys the pump. They last maybe one year if you don't fallow these instructions. I have returned them but they only have a year warranty and as usual they last just a bit longer than that. It definitely beats lifting the gas can so I buy a new one every year or so.

    1. put stabil in your fuel container before filling with fuel and it self mixes,
