    • @RetrofitSource
      @RetrofitSource  Před 2 lety

      When you say wiring do you mean just general wiring or cleaning up wiring to make it neater? For neater wiring the solution would be Tesa tape. Any runs of wire that go through the same area just group them together and wrap them with tesa tape, zip tie them off to OEM wiring if possible.

      @YourUserNameSucksx10 Před 2 lety

      @@RetrofitSource would be nice to see the order of wiring. Example from headlight bulb to wire A then from B, goes to wire C, to relay, to ballast etc.

    Question... Seeing that you recommend JB Weld on the shrouds. What if I buy all my products from you, and somewhere down the road, a component malfunctions and then i need to take apart the light to get to/replace the component. Won't I have to break the shroud off the projector at this point?

    • @RetrofitSource
      @RetrofitSource  Před 2 lety +1

      The projector would come out the front side of the headlight, no need to break the shroud off.

    I would like to use a d2s projector but I see that the threading shaft is a lot wider then mini h1. My headlights are h7 so would retrofitting a d2s projector not be possible because of how wide the threaded shaft is?

    Hey, can you please tell me where the solenoid cables need to be connected to? Mine is a H4 setup and the projectors came with two solenoid wires each, so not really sure if they are meant to be connected as it is or I need some kind of 'female' connectors?! Thanks!!!

    • @RetrofitSource
      @RetrofitSource  Před 6 lety

      You would need a harness like this, which would have the necessary outputs for the ballasts and the solenoid cables to activate the high beams: www.theretrofitsource.com/wiring/relay-harnesses/motocontrol-bi-xenon-h4-9003.html

    hi. doesnt the h4 washer helps the rotational alignment. if the shaft has a groove cut out and the washer fits in place how can the rotational alignment change or move. doesn't the washer hold it in place?

    • @RetrofitSource

      Yes, it does help stop the projector from rotating, however, there is still some room for it to rotate.

      the mini d2s is a superior product, TBH, look up Lightwerkz's video comparing the D2S 4.0 vs H1 7.0, the D2S is just better

      @ruiz1996h Před 6 lety

    hi bro can you tell morimoto to make the threads on the shaft a bit longer on the Mini D2S 5.0

    • @RetrofitSource
      @RetrofitSource  Před 6 lety

      We can, but ultimately its a constraint between optics & being able to fit a D2S igniter on there. They're at their extent now. If you need something longer, we suggest the Morimoto MLED

    • @mujjuman
      @mujjuman Před 6 lety

      TheRetrofitSource Inc thank you! That’s a very good point about the igniter. I tried the MLED but it was too big for my housing to use the threaded shaft method. I’m now guessing that the MD2S and MLED are similar in size. I finally went with the MH1 7.0 and I’m loving it! But I’d like to try the MD2S in future projects that I have coming up.

    • @RetrofitSource
      @RetrofitSource  Před 6 lety

      Surely, how come you need a longer shaft anyways? Can always trim down the housing just like we've demo'd in this video, right?

    • @mujjuman
      @mujjuman Před 6 lety +1

      TheRetrofitSource Inc True, that's a good point. I never did it because I wanted to do the least amount of cutting possible because I didnt want to mess anything up. I dont have a belt sander either, but now that you mention it, it's something I could totally do for my next projects. Video guides like this are very helpful and give amateur guys like me some confidence.
