    It's no wonder the Morimoto Mini H1 Bi-xenon from TRS is one of the most frequently retrofitted projectors in the world. With the 6.0's performance that can compete with the best of OEMs combined with ultra ease of installation, our Mini's outsell other projector options 2:1
    ******************************
    Complete Retrofit System: www.theretrofitsource.com/comp...
    Step 1: Insert threaded shaft through the front of the reflector bowl (big silicone washer installed) (Mini Gatling Gun users take note of step 6 in advance)
    Step 2: Install the H4 or H7 adapter plate, with the notched side at 12:00 to ensure the projector's rotation is level. (Skip this step for non H4, H7 applications, manual rotation adjustment is required)
    Step 3: Use a 27mm wrench or socket to tighten the hex lock ring. Do not over-tighten, or completely tighten until you are sure this will be the last time the projector will be mounted (the threads will deform and lock on once fully tightened)
    Step 4: Install the 3-prong bulb holder using a magnetic screwdriver (for ease of installation) - and ensure that all 3 feet are evenly and completely seated down into their channels. If the 3 feet do not go down into their channels, more space will have to be created forward of the lock ring. (flip the adapter plate around, grind the housing down more, or remove silicone washers)
    Step 5: Test fire the bi-xenon solenoid mechanism 30-40 times to be sure that the hinges are still sliding as they should be. Since this mechanism is made of fairly thin metal, it is important not to disturb it during the installation to avoid future sticking issues.
    Step 6: Install shroud using JB weld and centric rings. (If using Mini Gatling shroud, that must be done before the projector is mounted to the headlight bucket!)

    all the random hardware and what went into H1 and H7. Thanks so much

    I've installed hids bulbs before. Want to know how to wire them, look for how to put in hid bulbs. Basically. New bulbs connect to a ballast, a little box, and that connects to factory headlight connector. No wire cutting needed. Very simple. Then mount then ballast securely to car. With zip ties or sometimes they come with a bracket. Btw, nice video on the projector lights.

  • @rickjames9477
    @rickjames9477 Před 3 lety

    the solenoid and that shield movement is exactly why I had no choice but to just rock LED’s - We have far to much temperature variation as well as salt used on our roads to trust something like that. Also my car u have to take the bloody bumper cover, under car shield as well as a bunch of other plastic stuff just to get to the headlights if so had to do that in -30c, ohh shoot my solenoid froze and is jammed likely into high beam lol
    I went with morimotos two strokes for low beams and some phillips leds for high beam and I am very happy, my old lenses were so cloudy and terrible that just the new assemblies made a world of difference plus the added light and color difference, it’s made such annhuge difference. However I actually think doing turn signals and brake lights is even more important first though. Halogens headlight are decent but the bulbs at least the older bulbs used for signals/brake lights markers etc really are pretty terrible - and during a sunny day or at dusk - i notice people SEE what i am doing far easier then before.
    I know I hate some vehicles because you can’t see their front signals or some dummy will put a white bulb where and amber was supposed to go.

    • @muzicmuzic9
      @muzicmuzic9 Před 7 lety +1

      They sell many kinds of wiring harnesses. The best way is to just browse what they have. They have so many options for different installs that it's way too many to list. An example though, I did a retrofit on a motorcycle, and I bought a motorcycle dual h7 output harness to power the ballasts for the HID's. So many options it's almost overwhelming.

On mine this is what I did, I took the low beam wires to the headlight and the solenoid for the cut off through a relay such that the relay on its resting position has the solenoid energized and blocking the light but when I turn the high beam on it switches the relay on which drops current to the cutoff solenoid hence allowing the other half of the beam through as "high beam" I hope that helps. 5 pin relay by the way.

      That one will be a little hard, as that is a very low profile headlight housing. Otherwise, you could go with the Matchbox 2.0, and that would be a smaller option, but may not be any better than what comes in the headlight from the manufacturer. I have linked that for you here: www.theretrofitsource.com/bi-xenon-matchbox-2-P-M-MATCHBOX?quantity=1

      You dont "need" to hook it up, but unless you do - the projectors high beam wont work. It would get connected with the +/- wire coming from your high beam circuit. Easy to do, plug n play with some wiring we would recommend for you.

  • @MrCougar214

    I bought a set of aftermarket head light housings for my charger. They have H1 sockets for both high and low beam. The high beam are standard reflectors but the low beam are projectors with a cut-off shield inside(I'm assuming because of the sharp cut-off line). The cut-off line on the passenger head light is slightly slanted and doesn't line up perfectly with the drivers side(which is nice and even straight across). Is there a way I can fix this so the passenger side head light is even with the drivers side? I am NOT talking about adjusting them up or down! I know how to do that and have already done it. I'm talking about how to "twist" the actual projector in the passenger side head light to get it lined up properly.

    • @RetrofitSource
      @RetrofitSource  Před 4 lety +1

      That sounds like a defective headlight. It's highly doubtful that it can be fixed. The only way to remedy this would be to get a new headlight housing.

    • @RetrofitSource
      @RetrofitSource  Před 3 lety

      Hey there, thanks for commenting! This is a pretty old video, so you will have to forgive us on the quality of it as we were not as advanced in the industry as we are now! With the lens removal, we did not skip that process, and you can view that from roughly 40 seconds to 1 minute 10 seconds. As for the reflector bowl removal, that is also shown, just not in too much detail. That is right after the lens removal, and it involved removing the 3 screws that were in that headlight holding the reflector bowl to the housing. The kits can all easily be found on the website, and if you took the time to check out the links on this video to check out the complete retrofit system, you would have seen that all the parts are included in the kit including the shroud. The real reason that we do not show everything that well in this video, is that these can be used in almost every headlight housing, and of course different housings are going to have different setups. That is why this kit is a "Custom" kit that you will have to install! If you have any questions, all you need to do is shoot us an email and we will be happy to help! Support@TheRetrofitSource.com
