I got searched and same question this year coming from euro tunnel.. in April , traveling alone with my dog , aged 54 ,, I thought it was, as I was travelling alone, but had nothing to hide, and explained where my income was coming from .. so it must be a new thing they’re doing this year !

Should have told them what’s hell is it got to with you. They’ve got to prove how you have funded not you. Border force needs to start earning there money and patrol the beaches in Dover

Another nice video wrapping up what has been a fantastic xmas tour, we've been stopped at Newhaven before for a thorough search and even had to disclose how much money we had on us at the time but its easier to just jump through the hoops and pass on, in any of the countries was you ever asked to muzzle the dogs at anytime, ie on public transport/ ferries for example.

When your next go to Brugge, try Chez Alberts for your waffles, it is not far from the square. I had waffles with strawberries and whipped cream. I can highly recommend. 😋😋

If you love Christmas things and if you haven't done it yet, you should do the Romantic Route in Germany. They have a great Christmas shop open all year round in Rothenburg ob der Tauber and the Aire which is 12 euros a night is just outside the town, It also has electric hook up if you need it. We did the route right down to Fussen and saw the Disney Castle.
We’ve done a few of those , but not in full, really appreciate the recommendations, we will certainly be revisiting ! Thankyou ❤️❤️

We got hammered in April by our customs - they absolutely grilled us / even asking to look at our photographs of the holiday: asked why we hadn’t booked a return journey so I said becus our small dog had been in the vets before we left - so I wanted to make sure if we needed to get home we could. It was awful x
Aww I hope your little dog is better x , we had a grilling too, but as we weren’t in a rush with nothing to hide it was very interesting, but if you needed to get a move on, it’s a pain, but necessary, we had photos, receipts, income and more , thanks for sharing your experience, and really hope your dog is ok ? ❤️🎄xx
@@redsgotravels he is fine thank u, he has a huge lump in his leg which is a lipoma but we didn’t want to book a return ferry incase we needed to get home earlier than planned. They didn’t ask us how we funded our trip ( cheeky gits) but they wanted to know why we had only had the van for 3 months 🤷♂️… and had we stopped on camp sites - the funny thing was my oldest son was at home and my youngest who was with us caught him putting the bins out at home on the ring doorbell with his arse hanging out his trousers - which he shared with me lol - when they asked to look at my photos / he got a good old butcher of my sons hairy ass / that probably put him off his stride as he only checked our garage and toilet - that was enough 😂😂😂😳😳😳

What a bad ending to your wonderful adventure, we watch a few you tubers who go abroad the 4 i can think of who have been 1 got stopped they peered in van then let them go, what would you of done had you been wild camping during all your stay how could you prove where you had stayed/been?

Personally speaking I think I would be asking to see the legislation that allows them to ask those questions. I know it's a case of not having anything to worry about if you're innocent but that was way too much for my liking

I know Boarder Force and customs can give you a lot of grief if you back chat them, but it must have made you really want to! I know I’ve had to bite my tongue a couple of times. Of course if you’d arrived in a rubber boat it would have been a whole different scenario!

I can understand the funding issue when leaving the U.K. to go to Europe. But coming home , what a disgrace. It’s obviously easier coming across the Channel in a RIB.

If the Border Force wish to try and establish if you are involved in people smuggling it is for them to prove. Like you we are frequent back and forth over the water. We have been stopped the last three entries back into the UK and asked about our itinerary of journey. We make sure we are never breaking import rules in case. They have never gone as far as to ask us to account for our funding or ask for proof of photos as to our journey. At that stage of any interaction I would be thinking that perhaps they are placing you into suspect category and although you have been shown to have nothing to hide you can expect to be stopped again probably upon your next return.
I am of the belief that the UK authorities working with the French are looking at motorhomes at this time of year. It is not a time when you get motorhomers running about in Northern Europe, along with a stop out and back at Gravlines put you in the frame as a possible people carrier. Gravlines has a number of foreign person wanting to get to the UK and I would think that there is some form of ANPR system picking up UK plates

I don’t see why your income etc is anything to do with them. I don’t think I would have been able to not say anything. Maybe they should concentrate doing something useful like the jobs they are supposed to do.

Did they inspect your phones? This could make interesting reading, relates to electronic devices, from Hansard, December 2023:

Get some ratchet straps & tie down the van onto a Rubber inflatable dingy & come across the channel & land on a beach job sorted,,,, i,m off to Spain in January & for the journey especially the return i have prior to departure fill in an API - Advanced Passenger Information form otherwise i may be denied entry into the UK ,,,, I am all for Customs being strict but it should be for EVERY person & vehicle,,,, Rant over lol ,,,

I’m sure it’s a tough job, and we witnessed some of the camps and migrants wandering the roads in France looking for a better life , very sad, it was a thorough check of us and other travellers, luckily we were off the ferry first, otherwise I suspect quite a queue and wait to get through customs .. thanks for watching and commenting, very much appreciated ❤️❤️
Great video, but i would put money on it that it was some jealous troll. Customs definitely acted on information received 🤬 some very sad people out there need to get a life of their own 👍🫶
