    Nice video. I bought the same laptop but from B&H. I also purchased the same ram kit as you but it does not run at the full 5600Mhz CL40 speed. It runs at a slower 4800Mhz but with faster 36-35-35-68 timings. 3DMark CPU test shows that it runs 5% slower than the stock memory. So if you need 64GB, not a bad trade off, but if you don't need it and just wanted faster memory for every ounce of performance, it's not worth it.

Windows 11 BSOD (Blue Screen) daily. Memory test failures led me back to the Kingston RAM. Contacted Lenovo support. They say the RAM is technically NOT supported. Suggested replacing with the stock 32 GB RAM sticks. I did that and whalla, all is now working fine. However, I'm back to 32 GB of RAM for video editing. That is a real bummer. Contacted Kingston. They are going to exchange the RAM. They too say the RAM is technically NOT supported for the 7i Pro, but seems to work for some people. I'll try the new RAM when it arrives. However, it did work for some people. Maybe I'm just one of the unlucky ones. Hehehe. So far, I'm using Premiere and After Effects fine on 32 GB. Agh I'm so mad, I bought the ASUS ROG Strix G16 and the Lenovo 7i. The ROG 16 destroys the 7i in Premiere performance. I did a bunch of side-by-side tests and the ROG is noticeably quicker with exports and performance in general.
    The worst part is I bought these laptops to do light editing while off-grid because they both support 100W USB-C input. Well, when you use the 7i on USB C power Lenovo Vantage bottlenecks the performance so much that my Cinebench score dropped 50% lower than what the ROG was scoring.
    The even worse part is the ASUS ROG 16 has an awful keyboard layout. The shorter right shift paired with no number pad makes it almost useless for editing. I have no idea what to do.
    Both laptops are similarly spec'd too: i9 13900/980hx, 32gb ram, 4060/70 gpu

      @@nVuFilms ASUS 13980/4060, Lenovo 13900/4070. There's not a big jump between components, the 13980 is maybe 6-7% faster than the 13900. 4070/4060 10-13% difference.
      The biggest disappointment is the poor USB C charge performance. Look it up online apparently it's a problem with Lenovo laptops. ASUS nailed it, it pulls 100W from 100W all the time, my Lenovo even on rendering was pulling 65W typically from 100W output (but would occasionally spike to 90 or 100W). It's an issue with the power mode or something. I'm hoping the 140W GAN charger improves this.
      Vu what do I do lol. I love the ports on the 7i and the keyboard + numpad is excellent. If I use the ASUS I'm probably gonna wind up toting my fullsize mech keyboard just to not go insane from the weird ASUS key layout.

    • @Scorge120
      @Scorge120 Před rokem

      @@nVuFilms Look at the Cinebench scores in different power modes on the 7i: czcams.com/video/1XvizVI1sbA/video.html
      Even the 5i is scoring significantly higher than the 7i in lower power modes: czcams.com/video/UkAILBRHRpY/video.html
      And I'm getting the same results from my 7i (around 15,000 cinebench when on balanced power mode) vs. 22,000 on the ASUS when in a balance power mode.
      Unless you plan on using your laptop 100% power with the AC brick all the time, you're going to be 50% slower than the competition once you switch to balance or low power modes or want to run off USB C. Something is wrong with the 7i Gen 8.

    • @Scorge120
      @Scorge120 Před rokem

      @@nVuFilms Went with the Legion in the end. I need the number pad. After some extensive testing the performance between the G16 and 7i wasn't as big as I thought, especially when I was using both laptops with the AC charger. It was interesting actually the Legion seems to perform better in live playback and active tasks but the G16 was much faster in passive tasks and rendering. This is for LR/PPro use. But the Legion sucks if you're not using the AC adapter. It's like, 50% slower than the ASUS off AC and/or using USB-C charging. So you'll have to be tethered to that big brick most of the time if you want decent performance.
